Horrible Dreams

Recommended Posts

Anyone ever have a horrible dream they can't get out of their head? I had one the other night and every once in a while images from it pop into my head and won't go away.

I'm trying to analyze the dream, but there is no explanation.

Outline the dream here and I'm sure the Geeks/Geekettes can figure it out. :D

This is where women go wrong. STOP trying to analyze every focking thing that happens. Just realize that things can and do happen for no reason at all. Even dreams.

Is it the dream where you dream you're a donut being attacked by a gang of malicious hot dogs?

I'm betting Rusty is in it somehow.

:first: This is funny, because this is exactly what I do constantly. I have to ALWAYS understand and get frustrated when I don't.

I was talking to my sponsor the other day about a new friend I have and she said just about the same thing, sometimes things just happen and I dont' need to understand everytime, and most of the time I'm not meant to, but just to let it be the way it is.

I'm betting Rusty is in it somehow. :D

I can honestly and very happily say that Rusty has NEVER been in ANY of my dreams or nightmares!

there are 2 ways to look at your dream....

#1 is that it's just a dream playing out your absolute worst fear, and that's why you're harboring on it, but ultimatly it means nothing

#2 you had a premanition... in which case, you should take steps towards protecting yourself and family from it...

I'm rolling the dice and saying it's #1. It's just your worst fears coming out in dream form, and since they hit so closely to home, you are uber sensative to it and can't shake it. Maybe talk to a few close friends about it, just to clear your mind, and you'll probably sleep much better.

I did tell a very dear friend about it and it helped me feel better, but still, every once in a while images pop into my head and it sucks.

And god I hope it's #1, that would suck if it's #2. If so, it's time for me to get a gun!

I sure have Horrible Dreams. Almost every night. I could never pull off what I can in my dreams, and I wouldn't want to do those type of things in real life. I would be in trouble. I don't analize them too much. I don't want to become that. So I can't help you but to say I have them too and am ok. I know some stick with you for a while. When I watched the Danial Pearl be-heading, I thought I was going to lose it for about 2 weeks. I was seeing it in my head over and over. But it does pass after a while.

It's #1 hon, no doubt about it (to me anyways).

even though a single mom getting a gun might be a decent idea as long as your son has absolutly zero access to it... and I mean ZERO access to it till he's MUCH older. cause you think you have nightmares now? just wait till you get a gun and you start having nightmares that your son shot himself with it.

Thanks, and I'm hoping you're right dear.

I actually had a friend tell me before that getting a gun because it's just me is a good idea and that I should also teach my son about the gun and teach him to shoot it as well. That will alleviate the curiosity that kids have when guns are in the house. And it will also teach him what guns can do to someone and how to respect them because of it.

I'd wait till he's at least a teenager before you taught him how to use it... tell him about it, and explain to him that it's dangerous and can kill someone is a good thing.. but well, I'm not his parent, so it's your call.. just be smart and use discression. I'm sure you'll do the right thing.

I don't even know how to shoot a focking gun. Did it once at my ex's fathers house but that's it. We had one in the house before in a lock box but my ex took it with him when he moved. So I think any thought about this is a long time off.

I can teach you whenever you're ready.

And before any knuckleheads chime in, I've been around guns my whole life, and when I was in the military, I got the whatever metals for the best shooting possible (was 1 point away from "perfect" on the shooting part)

I had a terrible dream that sawilson's vagina was actually the gateway to hell, and millions of horrible creatures emerged from it like ants from a kicked mound and swarmed over the Earth, devouring humans.

And she stood atop a high mountain, and suddenly she sprouted seven heads, each with seven foreheads, and she parted wind from her behind.

A stink fell over the land, and all of the women who not been killed by the vagina beasts were knocked out by the stench.

A handful of men survived, and then on each of her seven foreheads, seven eyes sprouted, and flesh-igniting lightning bolts flew from those eyes and, one-by-one, killed all the men but one, and that man was me.

And despite her being the only woman left on Earth, I was repulsed and felt no desire to insert my meat whistle into her stinking, ghoul-infested gash.

:dunno:

My actual dream was I was in my house at night although it didn't look like my house, it just fealt like it.

There was a man there that wanted something although I didn't know what it was he wanted but he had a gun that he kept pointing it and waving it around. I also knew that my son was in his room sleeping so I was doing what I could to divert him from there. I dont' remember the man actually saying anything just acting crazy then all of a sudden he ran out of the house.

I ran into my son's room to grab him and get him out of there and the minute I walked in his room I saw him on his bed with a bullet hole in his head and his pillow was covered in blood.

Thats where I woke up, crying. I ran into my son's room and had to make sure he was actually OK and couldn't get back to sleep for a while and I still see images of my son, lying there on his bed. :dunno:

Wow, that does sound like a really difficult dream to have had.

IF when you assess your situation, you don't feel completely secure, maybe you should just take some steps for peace of mind. Alarm system (not sure how effective they are), gun, dog, or even just discussing emergency protocol with your son.

Staci.....

Let me give you a piece of advice.

guns aren't for everyone.

My grandpa, who was my psuedo-father for most of my childhood years, was a gunsmith.

I learned ALOT about guns....how they work, how to reload ammunition, even stuff I cannot divulge online.

He used to bring me into his shop every night and I would 'help' him.

Then one day (I was probably 9) he came home and caught me 'playing' with his 1911 Colt .45 ACP.

He drug me out of the house....we went to the grocery store and he bought 2 watermelons.

Then he drove me out to the country (never saying a word, BTW)...

He set the watermelons on a dirt mound, and MADE me shoot the gun at them, until I hit em.

First off...that gun has a SERIOUS kick for a 9 year old.

Second, when I finally did hit the melon, I really realized what it could do to someone.

He looked at me and said "Don't you EVER touch this gun again....Unless you are ready to end someone's life because of it. They will never come back...but they may want to do the same to you...so you have to be prepared to do that ONLY if it's necessary."

In hindsight, he should have done it sooner......YES...SOONER...

Because shooting that gun and seeing in real life what it could do scared the crap out of me.

But it also let me know....it's OK to use it.....but ONLY...ONLY if it's necessary.

I've always....always, always been an avid proponent of gun use since....but IMO ONLY because I really understand the concept. That ONE split second IS THE defining moment....and you better be ready to make that decision.

SAW...if you want a gun....by all means, I support you.....

But IMMEDIATELY teach your son the POWER behind it...

If he's too young to understand....hide it somewhere YOU can't find it....because a kid will ALWAYS find things. I know.

First, wtf did you use my real name you tool??? JK - everyone knows it anyway.

But seriously, ITA with what you said, and I'm not even sure if I"m ready to get a gun myself at this moment let alone teach my son about them. So the gun thing is looking like not a great option at this point.

Let me give you MY baseline for owning a gun.....

If you cannot COMPLETELY disassemble and reassemble the gun, BY MEMORY.....then you yourself are not ready for a weapon.

It doesn't mean you shouldn't own it, or purchase it...but you HAVE to master it (IMO...again) before attempting to use it.

I would suggest going to a gun range (they have indoor ones all over).

ASK....say "I don't know how to shoot....and I wanna learn".

You have ######.....they'll be a 100 guys willing to show you.

Then take that information...disregard 99% of the macho BS most will try to sell you....and learn the weapon on your own.

Pass that information on.....

GL...

Now above I read what the dream was and yeah thats a terrible dream and thought to have etched in your mind - I have nothing against guns ( and I CANNOT add to whay BLS said ) but I dont think you need a gun because of a bad dream - ESPECIALLY if you are so unusure.

Leave it to pete to take your dream(nightmare) thread and turn it into a gun thread !!! :wall:

I didnt take the time to read all the posts, but I think this Chantix creates some really imaginatine, but not horrible dreams. So far I ve hade dreams that included...Anthony Clarke, me kicking my dads ass in Vegas for some reason, my wife getting kidnapped, and to top it all off, Big Pete in a Hasselbeck jersey. (The last one wasnt true, but the dreams are giving me a complete mindfock).
