giraldi02 470 Posted April 2, 2017 Federer play the whole feild yet or just a few matches? By that logic, a golfer is better than any pro sport athlete. Jordan and Gretzky didn't beat the whole field. Tom Brady hasn't beaten Aaron Rodgers in the SB

penultimatestraw 473 Posted April 3, 2017 Collect 9 more 2nd place major finishes.. And win Wimbeldon at 46. Thats a ridiculous standard, as career duration is at least 10 years greater in golf. It is almost unheard of to win after age 30 in tennis. In roughly half as much time, Fed has the same number of majors as Jack.

Cruzer 1,992 Posted April 3, 2017 I know, but I seriously wonder what he'd have to do to convince some fans he's better than any golfer. Oh I don't know that Rog is.. He might be - but I don't know how to quantify it w/out knowing more about the history of tennis. What Rog is doing is phenomenal - but Jack was equally phenomenal... Jack won 3 majors after the age of 40, and had 3 runner up major finishes after 40 as well.. Then, he tacked on 2 top 10 major finishes after the age of 50. A couple more Grand Slams puts him in the conversation with Fed/Nadal.

Every now and then you get one of those guys, who just keeps going and going like the energizer bunny. Jerry Rice, Brady, Favre, Julio Franco, Nolan Ryan, Kareem, Carl Lewis keep doing it when most others in the sport were way done. Going to be a throwback weekend at Wimbledon in both the Men's and Women's Finals. ETA: Not saying that is a list of equals in any way shape or form, just guys who played at an advanced age at a very high level.
