itsjjw 0 Posted March 20, 2007 Thanks. It's remarkable how many people will look simply for a certain size of a stone to satisfy their thirst for bigger being better. It ends up looking like a chunk of rock salt. I have that arguement with people all of the time. It's not the size of your vessel, it's how you rock the boat! Now you are pushing your luck. I think she was referring to the fact that my wife was lucky because I utilized some common sense in making the purchase. You are a class act. She is so lucky. yostevo 0 Posted March 20, 2007 hell, just charge it. Your bills become hers when you get married, so she'll be helping pay for her own ring like my wife is There's truth to this unless of course your wife was bringing a boat load of debt from living in Cali. for about 6 years. I'm not bitter. You are a class act. She is so lucky. Don't even try and ruin my rep as a heartless bastard. I've seen my chest x-ray and it's as hollow as TNG's head. KSB2424 3,148 Posted March 20, 2007 When I first bought my wife's ring, I purchased a little bit over my head because I just wanted it to be a purchase that I had absolutely no regrets about. What I mean is that I never wanted to look at her ring and not see a brilliant sparkle or find the diamond to be dull in anyway. I sacrificed size for quality (albeit she got over a carat in her center stone) She's never been the type to need anything too gaudy, but just nice to look at. I kinda did the same thing. I had a pre-determined amount of money that I wanted to spend and could afford. After subsequent research it appeared to me that there were certain ranges within the four C's. I just made a limit as to how low I would go within the cut (F), clarity (VS2), and color (very good) then told the woman at the jewelry store to give me the biggest one you got in those requirements for said amount of money. Just to add, the woman at the jewelry store was a family friend, so I sorta got a hook up as well!

Actually, that is virtually the exact specs of my wife's ring with the exception of the cut being considered (excellent). I'm not sure if I could tell the difference though. I probably just paid more. Nice call. Great value across the board.

Brown Eyed Girl 1 Posted March 20, 2007 I'd be happy with that. Call her lucky for me. I've got to agree with whoever first said it here... redtodd, I think(?). I just don't see how the ring makes her lucky. She's a lucky girl if she's got a guy who adores her and loves her with all of his heart. That right there - you just can't put a price on, IMO. AmbassadorOfKwan 0 Posted March 21, 2007 Why is there never any importance for the guys ring? It should gather at least a little bit of attention. You think cut and clarity would matter to us?
