maddog3819 0 Posted April 3, 2007 I've used Sportsline for 6 years or so now and I'm sure there is something else out there just as good for less than $120. I just need them to keep up with the scores and I need to be able to put in my scoring system. I don't need any half asss analysis of what to do with my team or line up. Anybody got any good reccomendations? Thanks.
douceyve 0 Posted April 3, 2007 I've been using RTSports for 7 or 8 years, now, and love it! No complaints from anyone in my league. Not too expensive (cheaper than CBS) and plenty flexible. I highly recommend it! YvesD

VaTerp 0 Posted April 3, 2007 If all you need is the basics then Id go with Yahoo. I know some here complain about it but Ive never heard any real good reasons as to why. From my personal experience Yahoo is defineitly MUCH better than CBS and it FREE. IMO, cant go wrong with Yaaahooooooooo hoo!

JetsFan28 0 Posted April 3, 2007 Free version does not have live scoring. Fanball. Just like CBS but 1/2 the price. If anything superior scoring system setup options. I have used Fanball to run my league for the past 3 years and I like it a lot. Another good site is myfantasyleague.com which I use for another league I'm in. From a commish standpoint, Fanball is easy to use, very flexible, and the customer service is good. However, the live scoring always seems to be off which is making me think about moving my league to myfantasyleague.

huskerboy 0 Posted April 3, 2007 myfantasyleague.com Been satisfied with them for over 4 years. We have a dynasty league with myfantasyleague.com...I've been the commish, and we've already signed up for our 5th season in a row. Been very pleased...especially with the customization for dyansty leagues and easy carry-over to the next season. They have great options for keeper leagues or just regular leagues too. I think we pay $70, but i don't know if that's a special price we pay now to re-sign every year though.

I highly recommend it! YvesD I have just set up a league at RTS during the free trial. I love it so far, but I am wondering how good the live scoring is. Obviously, the name (REAL TIME) seems to suggest that is what they do best, but does anyone have any major complaints?

Obviously, the name (REAL TIME) seems to suggest that is what they do best, but does anyone have any major complaints? I've only had trouble with them a couple times. Once was the first week of the season, and their servers overloaded. The problem was fixed by the next week. The other time, the server they got their stats from went down, but was fixed within a couple hours. And, from what I've heard, they have kickass customer service. An actual person emails you back (unlike cBS's form letters), and they tend to get the problem fixed. But I can't say for certain, as I've never had to email them. Melissa Stark 1 Posted April 3, 2007 Fantasy Commissioner Link Never had it crash and is pretty diverse, you can view sample league at the top of site
huskerboy 0 Posted April 3, 2007 You can view our 2006 myfantasyleague.com league right here. You can also use it to see our 2007 league, but obviously not much to see yet since we haven't done or draft or re-shuffled divisions yet. You can see our polls though (it does them in a cool way). Just moved our keeper league from CBS to Fanball, and so far so good. We are getting the same options as CBS at half the price. Looking forward to see how things go on draft day and on game days but by all accounts fanball is solid. I know fanball is always available and we were having access issues for folks on CBS. The only difference I see is the inability to post embedded video on fanball, which by the end of last season was being abused on our CBS site. Make the move. Thanks again Big Dog for easing my fears...

Anybody got any good reccomendations? Thanks. I have used MFL, yahoo and AOL's free website service. MFL is the best, IMO...but if you want a good free webhost try out the 1 AOL is letting ppl use free of charge. You get live scoring and it will work with auction salary leagues that are more complicated than traditional serpentine leagues. AOL does all that stuff for free and we used it in 2 different local leagues last year and had no problems with scoring or anything else. Once again, I don't think it is as good as MFL, but it is free and nearly as good. I was extremely skeptical at first when I heard about the AOL thing...but it is true and they don't force you to sign up for AOL or anything else. 2 cents - OMM

My league has been there for 5 years and we have found them to be very responsive and have the others beat in the price point to feature ratio.
maddog3819 0 Posted April 4, 2007 So it sounds like the top ones are MFL, RTS, and Fanball. The one thing that really pissses me off at CBS is the schedule....we play the same schedule every year and every year CBS resets it and can't use the same as last season. I have to go in and reset it every year. Will any or all of these sites allow me to keep the prior seasons schedule in? Other than that you guys have told me what I need to know. Thanks again for the help.

Slick20 0 Posted April 4, 2007 I really like the AOL league. I have made many people a believer in this free service. It is very user friendly and I have no complaints. THe best part is that it's free. I have no intentions on paying for a site to host my league. I like to keep the prize money as high as possible. AOL gives you full control over the schedule. I'm sure these Fanball & MFL are great but AOL is completely free!!

They do have live people to email you back when you have questions/problems. They also make upgrades to the operations every season, most of which start as suggestions by commissioners or team owners. Been running at least one league on there for about 6 years or so, and it's always been good. Nice for dynasty leagues and salary cap.
Wildman 0 Posted April 4, 2007 Most of the leagues I'm in use MFL. Not fancy, but gets the job done very well. I do use Sportsline for two longstanding local leagues though. Few complaints.

Asatira 0 Posted April 4, 2007 RTSports ! 4 years running My league has some of the stupidest scoring systems in any league I've seen thus far. RTS gives you the flexibility to create custom scoring by use of complex math equations. You can customize thresholds to reach, length of TouchDowns, crazy bonus structure for kicking etc. I remember when I got a live person @ rts who figured out the math formula needed to reach combined rushing/receiving thresholds. They also usually offer a trial basis till week 4 or 5 before you have to pay them. good luck in what ever you choose.

With MFL you actually can get a little or a lot fancy if you want, just see our 2006 link. Many ways to customize your site as well as many fantastic tools love the live scoring feature. MFL. Great Option
Fat_Kid 0 Posted April 5, 2007 We had used FFLM for 5 years then switch to MFL last year and love it. I find it is as customizable as you want. You can keep it simple of add as much as you want. Live scoring worked great for my league the whole year and all the owners wanted to stay with it for this year. I have not used RTS or CBS or Fanball but I have used Yahoo for free leagues and MFL blows it away.
Let Da Big Dog Eat 40 Posted April 5, 2007 Just moved our keeper league from CBS to Fanball, and so far so good. We are getting the same options as CBS at half the price. The only difference I see is the inability to post embedded video on fanball, which by the end of last season was being abused on our CBS site. Make the move. Thanks again Big Dog for easing my fears... You will not be disappointed. People talk about customer service at RT and I really don't know about CS at Fanball as I haven't had a problem in the 4 years we have been there. Also, EP's are always counted vs the D which I don't agree with. On K returns int's returned for TD's etc. the EP should not count. My league does not care so neither do I. But, here's a heads-up. There are 2 ways to setup D scoring. 1 is with total pts against, the other is pts allowed by D (does not include Int's etc. returned for TD's). Don't get them mixed up. So it sounds like the top ones are MFL, RTS, and Fanball. This problem does not exist in Fanball. Everything is the same unless you change it. Also, you can look at history from prior years (records, leaders etc.).
