Sopranos last episode.......What a waste of time

Recommended Posts

One other thing...watch the very first episode of that second half of the season Member's Only. Eugene goes to Boston to shot some guy named Teddy Spirodakis, TS-Tony Soprano, in a greasy spoon restaurant....Eugene is wearing the same jacket MOG is wearing in Holstein's right before the camera goes black on Tony.

That's right. I forgot about Eugene.

So who ordered the hit on Tony Soprano?

It's been a few years since I saw that show so my memory might not be correct, but wasn't it strongly suggested that Paulie Walnuts was gearing to make a move on Tony?

I'd say it was whats left of Phil's crew, probably the little squinty guy (Butchie).

They gave up Phil, but they probably weren't too happy with Phil's head getting popped, hence no open-casket. With Tony dead, Jersey would be their's.

Maybe they were working with Paulie, he could sense something was wrong on the fishing boat. Also, Tony wasn't too sympathetic to his cancer and religious experience.

Patsy Parisi and Paulie took out the hit on Tony.

Paulie knew Tony wanted to kill him on the fishing trip to Florida. Also, there was the guy who was killed...I forget the details but it has something to do with the white shoes that Paulie wore. They kept referencing them in the Florida episode. It was the strangulation with the piano wire. I forget the particulars at the moment.

Patsy had tried to kill Tony once before. He walked up to the pool with a handgun to revenge the death of his twin brother.

I also think Angie Bompinsaro (Big Pussie's wife) was in on it too.

I forgot about Parisi. He'd been harboring rage over his twin brother for years. That would make more sense then Paulie.

Parisi was the only person who knew where Tony was going to be. His son was with Meadow prior to her leaving for Holsten's.

Just ran through the entire series. I thought it ended almost perfectly.

I agree.

Coincidentally, last month I decided to re-watch the series, only have the last episode left. An incredible show on the 2nd viewing too.

Okay - Didn't read all the http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/#EMO_DIR#/cry.gif posts, but there were a few who had some idea. Here's the deal; On its face, yeah, suxor. BUT: The key is in the details;

  • The kid at the counter was Phil Leotardo's son/nephew - whatever
  • The two guys walking in at the end? Tried to kill Tony a few seasons ago.
  • One of the other guys in the restaurant got mixed up with Chrissie a few years ago too.
  • Prev. Mentioned: This was a flashback 2 when Tony's Dad got killed - gathered in a restaurant with his family.
I have no doubt that the ending would have been different IF they weren't already planning on a major motion picture. But, the above is pretty must the "gist" of the. The key is in the details.

So, Wiffleball was always a moron.

Tony's dad died of emphysema.

 I actually thought it was a touch overrated after the first 4 seasons. Still really good, but not quite on the same level as say The Wire. IMO, the last 2 seasons were incredible and really put the series over the top.

It definitely had a mid-series lull where it wasn't so great

There should have been 5 minutes of dialogue every episode between Paulie and Christopher. Should have had them talking politics, religion, sports. It would have been hillarious. My favorite scene in the series is Cgristophers intervention. I also loved when he described hell to Paulie. Classic.

And at the conclusion of the convo.....one other character should dip in and add their owns characters unusual context to it, like Bobby Baccalieri drifting by and saying something hilarious yet accurate that blows them both away, while they are left looking at each other with the WTF look.

All for it. The guinea from Sicily could have had some great lines. And Paulies dim witted nephew too
