Here's what bothers me about the Patriots cheating....

Recommended Posts

First of all, I have no problem admiting that the Patriots are a much better team than the Jets. They are. Better QB, better receivers, better defense, better coach. (However, I do hate Bill B.)

But I swear to you all, I was watching the game on Sunday and I have never seen the Jets defense look so lost. Even my wife said "Wow, Brady has all day back there and nobody is even coming close to touching him" I just kept telling myself that it was because of the fact that Mangini was from the Patriots and they had our number. However, now that I think about it, it makes perfect sense. They knew every single defensive scheme that we planned on putting in! Of course Brady had all day back there. It's extremely likely that the Patriots would have won without cheating but I would have liked to at least had an even playing field. It's not like we would have been able to stop the 108 yard return or anything but we would have definitely put more pressure on Brady, forcing some passes.

In a sense, it gives me a bit more hope for the Jets this year. I was so bummed last week, thinking it will be the longest season evah. Pennington looked pretty good and I have a little faith in Clemens as well. I do hope that the NFL comes down hard on the Patriots. It sounds like they have them completely caught with the cheating and now they are checking the communication wire as well. If they were caught listening to our schemes as well, they may really be punished. I'm hoping they lose a first or second round pick for next year. We'll see.

So you think the Patriots VIDEO TAPING the signals helped them during the game?

I didn't watch the game so I can't comment on too much, but on the long pass to Moss the Pats were in max protect but the Jets only rushed four, that doesn't seem to me like they knew what the Jets were doing.

Mangini tipped off NFL security before the game. I doubt he wasn't sending in false signals.

I wouldn't have much hope. They do suck!

Holy homer blindness Batman! Yes it does assmeg. You don't think they reviewed the tapes at halftime? Plus, if they were listening to their communications during the game, I'm guessing that could help them. Wow. I didn't think you were as stupid as everybody said but you have proved me wrong. Well done. :dunno:

SNF San Diego at New England 8:15 pm

Ratings through the roof, but has the line moved at all to account for the cheaters not being able to cheat anymore?

That doesn't seem to be true at all. From NFL.com.....

The story was first reported on the Web site of Jets Confidential, which said the Jets chief of security alerted NFL security about the issue during the game.

But you stick to your cheating team and let the big boys figure out what really happened.

i was under the impression that the images being viewed by the camera were being sent to a TV, decoded by a 2nd person watching said TV and then relaying them to Brady via his helmet.

what good would taping the signals and not using them be?

And how do you think the Jets chief of security knew to look for it? Mangini tipped them off, because they did it when he was an asst. in New England.

Man you are dense.

Wtf are you talking about? You asked him who his team was and he said "The cheaters". Don't know how much more of an admission you're looking for.

Yes, I'm a Pats fan and I'll say at this point it certainly looks like they've engaged in systematic cheating.

"you guys still can't admit that your team cheated" - You called out Pats fans here, of which I appear to be one of two in the thread. So you were talking to me you stupid fock.

From what I understand the Pats have been doing this for a long time. So yeah, videotaping signals would definitely help them. I believe the NFL had talked to them in the past and told them to stop but they didn't= CHEATERS!!!

Well, considering that the camera was confiscated at the beginning of the first quarter, I don't think that the Patriots used it in this game to win.

The camera guy did not prevent THREE defenders from covering Moss on the deep ball

The camera guy did not prevent the Jets from tackling Hobbs after he took the kick 8 yards deep in the end zone

The camera guy did not help the Patriots defense shut down the Jets offense

If you are biotching about the camera impacting this game, you are validating the reason that others have not complained in the past. It sounds like sour grapes.

Maybe it helped them in some games before but I doubt it helped against the Jets. Mangini knew about this stuff so obviously he was going to take precautions with his signaling. I'm not sure how much it helped in other games either. If it was supposively widely known that the Pats did this stuff then teams would take precautions. Part of the reason for doing it was probably gamesmanship. Teams would be worried about the patriots taping them so it would just be another thing that they had to worry about. The Pats and Belichick definitely showed some arrogance by continuing it after they were told not to.

the pats defense was helped by the fact the offense was scoring and had the lead. this made the Jets offense take unnessceary chances would led to failures.

Correction: Midway through the first quarter

http://www.boston.com/sports/football/patr...aults_patriots/

Patriots video assistant Matt Estrella was stationed on the New England sideline when he was approached by league security officials and had his camera and videotape seized in the middle of the first quarter Sunday.

If people think the Patriots have been cheating for a while, why did the Jets defensively beat the snot out of the Patriots in their 2nd game last year? :pointstosky:

The shocking aspect of this is the slap on the wrist that the Pats will end up getting.

They might lose a draft pick??? Are you freakin kidding me!!! That is it!!! That is outrageous if that is all that happens.

At least we all KNOW how the Pats beat the Colts those previous years. We all knew the Colts were the better team the 3 years the Pats won the Superbowls and everyone thought Manning just couldn't win the big game. Now we know the truth. The Pats are cheats and apparently have been for years now.

So much for Bilicheat being this great game planner and great defensive mind.

I wish this didn't happen, because after my beloved Steelers, I always liked the Pats as my "second team". Their fans (new breed) on the other hand......
