Can you name someone that had a faster fall from grace than the idiot kicker?

Recommended Posts

Yeah, that would be classified as a plunge into Hades, not just a fall...but the fact that he was a 1st round pick makes him one of about 800 such busts.

Yea, but 799 of them still have their freedom  MB

ps. for the next 19 years.....

Doug Flutie broke the players strike, NFL never gave him another chance.

Must be some kind of Omerta.

Yeah, if you consider 1600 pass attempts between 1998-2001 not another chance, you're right :music_guitarred:

Kordell Stewart meets the criteria many of the posters have failed to meet.

If there ever were any criteria, they've been forgotten by now. I thought about putting Slash on my list, but his fall from grace didn't seem very sudden...in fact it was stretched rather painfully over the better part of a decade. He was a fantasy stud for one season, regressed for the next several years, had a bit of a comeback season, then regressed back to sub-mediocrity for a few years before finally exiting the stage in style -- by being benched in favor of Rex Grossman.

Hands down winner.

I was going to post Tommy Maddox. But nothing tops Ricky.

That was primarily due to suspension though, and he really only had 1 great season (which followed a pretty bad season). I don't know if "nothing tops Ricky."

How bout Drew Bledsoe...he was the man for the Patriots, then Brady took over and was god, and Drew was never the same again.

Mike Croel - I think he was the defensive rookie of the year and then nothing after that. As a Husker fan, I was hoping for him to have a great career.

Kenny Walker - Not as successful but was looking to have a decent career. The Broncos changed coaches and he was out of the picture.

Thomas "Hollywood" Henderson was Lawrence Taylor before Lawrence Taylor. Snorted his career away.

Rodney Culver fell pretty far. ('bout 30,000 feet)

I think Payne Stewart fell further, maybe not faster

Greg Louganis has gone down more than any of these other chumps...

Kordell( ok maybe Greg and him go down equally as fast)

Antonio Freeman...stud(mostly due to Favre) to dud...

Bubba Franks...was catching 10/yr from Brett...

Bobby Humphrey...dude was a stud his rookie yr and poof...

Herman Moore and Brett Perriman...Brett caught 108 and 82 balls in consecutive seasons and never caught more than 19 after that....Moore caught 415 balls over a 4 yr streatch...then caught 60 total over the next 3...his down fall started at age 29...

Brian Bosworth

Ickey Woods

It's really hard to come up with a non-kicker that was at the top of his peers at his position and then just stunk all of a sudden. If we include college football, those hailing from Big 12 country can't help but think of Marcus Dupree.

Eric Moulds?

Remember watching him play and he looked like a man among boys.

He's a very good one. Nice call.

I guess Peerless Price to a lesser extent. His problem was going from a #2 with Bledsoe, to a #1 with Vick.,

Yes, Vick: the wide receiver killer. To be supplanted by Joey "Fingers" Harrington as the team killer.

I always thought Peerless would always be a great #2 but mediocre #1. He never seemed to have the skills to beat the double team inherent in the #1 position. But what do I know?
