edjr 7,165 Posted December 5, 2007 I've been looking for a WII the last couple of weeks and I told the girl yesterday. Come to find out, her sister's son who is 11, wants a WII for Christmas. He got a XBOX360 for christmas last year so this year he wants a WII, now I told her they are very hard to find without paying as much as double. I just bought one on Toysrus.com, it was a bundle with 6 games for $500. Should I ask for $400, say the $100 is his christmas gift from the both of us and give it to them. Not say anything and use it for myself on my beautiful 52 inch HD LCD? WWYD?
NorthernVike 2,122 Posted December 5, 2007 I'd keep it. You wanted it in the first place, no? He sounds like a spoiled brat and has the 360. Buy the fat little fock a football and tell him to get away from the TV

Mungwater 601 Posted December 5, 2007 how about you just tell them were you got yours, and you get the kid something.. selling them yours, taking a bit off, and saying "Part of that was from me too!" Is almost as lame as taking your girl to the dealership..

surferskin 31 Posted December 5, 2007 why would he want a phaggy wii when he's got a 360? seriously, this is the same position my brother is in. his kids are begging him for a wii, even though they got a xbox360 last year and hardly even play it ...i told him to man up and just buy them a game for 360. I am in complete agreement with you! I said the same thing. he wants it, because he doesnt have it and he gets what he wants. I cant stand the little bastard. You don't understand this family though. He's the only child, grand child, if he wants it, the grandmother will get it for him. Only problem is, the WII is hard to find, unless you put in a good ammount of time or spend way more than it normally costs. If I give it up, I'd be doing it KNOWING the are going to get one anyway and i'd be saving them money and doing a good deed. my MIL is the nicest sweetest woman in the world and I'd hate to see her pay more than she needs to. That's it, there is no convincing the MIL or the mother of the child, or my GF for that matter. this is there motto and I'm not kidding "every child should get everything they want for Christmas" Yeah, great way to bring up a child. Can't wait till he gets into the corporate world and doesn't get a job and starts crying.

I have a Wii and a PS3. A PS3/360 and the Wii are very different gaming experiences. Sure, there are many games that are avail for all of those systems, but really the Wii is better for some games, while the PS3/360 are better for other types of games. In a nutshell, the PS3/360 tends to be a more time-consuming, gaming-intense experience, while the Wii is more of a pick-up-and-play type of thing. Wii games tend to be much more accessible than their PS3/360 counterparts.
edjr 7,165 Posted December 5, 2007 Keep it or you are going start something with your $400 request. Absolutely not. The MIL will offer to pay for the entire thing, that's just how she rolls. It's going to be a FAMILY gift for the little bastard. Last christmas we all threw in $100 to buy him the xbox 360.

Unless one of my gamer buddies comes by to play the PS3 guests always want to play the Wii...although, the imminent arrival of Rock Band may change that a bit.
