It was me, and the general population gets arrested at a 3% clip, and at the time, when i looked up the stat, NFL players were getting arrested at a 1.5% clip, half that of the general population.

I would think it better to compare the % of NFL arrests to the % of general pop arrests of people earning over $500k per year.

Falcons SLB Michael Boley was arrested and charged with battery at his home in Dacula, Georgia on Saturday.

Boley is free on bond. Details of his arrest are unknown. Boley was immediately designated one of Atlanta's building blocks when the new regime took over, so this is disappointing. The Falcons were looking into giving him a long-term extension. They may be a little more hesitant now

Does this count?

http://www.startribune.com/sports/vikings/18696149.html

Scott, an NFL free agent, is charged with felony assault in the third degree, felony domestic assault by strangulation and misdemeanor endangerment of a child.

Cincy got nothin' on the Vikes.

Free agent that the Vikes didn't resign, and I am guaging that they have no desire specifically after that hardcore act of "discipline." Vikes only have McKinnie to worry about so far.

Woman told police Bills WR beat up father

Updated: May 13, 2008, 2:04 PM EST

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) - A woman called police saying Buffalo Bills rookie wide receiver James Hardy was beating up his father and had pulled a gun when she yelled for him to stop.

He hasn't been charged with anything, and from the sounds of things, they've already talked it out and made up.

"The Bills met with James Hardy following his alleged Sunday dispute with his father and say "indications are that this matter has been resolved."

Impact: "We have spoken to law enforcement officials and they have informed us that they looked into this and have no plans to pursue the matter any further," the team said in a statement. Hardy has not been charged with a crime."

Give it time. If a guy pulls a gun on his daddy, then he will be on this list before the start of the season. :ninja:

Thanks guys for #22 and #23. Only 2.5 months to go. I think 30 is realistic!

Thanks again Vikes. This one is a little more serious. Sounds like Grant will get off, but a stab in the neck also? Now that was a serious "fracas". :Mr-T:

I'd like to see something tracked on the first post of this thread in addition to the infractions?

The total number of NFL players, the percentage these players represent among NFL players, and the the national crime rate for 2007. Maybe even versus a major metropolitan city like NYC, LA, Miami, SF, Atl, or DC...

Maybe versus the posting population at FFT, too :music_guitarred:

Nah, we'd have too many suburbanite dads of 2.5 kids in their man caves pretending they led a gangsta life in their past. :music_guitarred:

I think the Fantasy Felon League might be just the thing to get us all through the tedium of the off-season. Simply totalling up the number of arrests doesn't, heh, do justice to the variety and complexity of player involvement with the legal system. You could draft right after the Pro Bowl and accumulate points throughout the year. A scoring system like this

Person of interest=1

Weapon registered to player used in crime=1

DUI=5

Assault=10

Homicide-100 pts/victim

And so forth

could cover everything from misdemeanors to capital offenses. You could even include civil suits and divorces.

An objection might be that such a game places owners in the position of rooting for crimes. I disagree. Crimes are just part an unfortunate of the game, like injuries. They're gonna happen.

Berven - - What an incredible idea for the offseason. I think this league could explode into a real money league given the correct pararmeters and increased involvement from the NFL players association!

It would have to be a salary cap league. Come up with about 20-40 crimes (post on main board for group list if needed), most frequent getting you the least points, but costing cheapest and so forth.

DUI's

any misdemeanor's

Woman abuse

Pot

Boating's while Intoxicated :headbanger: - - - actually this should be a monster bonus since I haven't seen one of these in 2 years of keeping track!

____________

assault

Felony's worse than the above

guns

____________

FBI conspiracy's on illegal pain pill prescriptions

Child Porn(I think a coach was busted for this last year)

dog fighting rings

50+ish pounds of pot - newton i think

From Rotoworld:

Falcons S Daren Stone was arrested for DUI Sunday.Impact: Last year's sixth-round pick barely played as a rookie. This could give the new coaching staff a reason to cut him.

Titans defensive end Jevon Kearse has been arrested for DUI, WTVF-TV reported.

Metro Nashville police said Kearse was seen speeding and swerving several times while travelling west on West End Avenue.

The officer who pulled the Titans over said Kearse exhibited slurred speach, red eyes, and smelled of alcohol. He reportedly refused a breath test.

Officials said the incident was Kearse's first offense.

Kearse signed a two-year deal worth $6 million with the Titans this past March, returning to the team that drafted him after a four year stint in Philadelphia.

Once the season kicks off... it would be interesting to get a breakdown of the tally of these arrests etc by infraction.
