I wonder what teams will not get a primetime game this season? My vote goes to Baltimore and Atlanta, maybe St. Louis or KC.

I'm eager to see the Cowboys schedule. I want to see who they get on Turkey Day, who the opener is (assuming it's Cleveland from previous report) and when they visit Arizona so that I can make plans to see my brother.

Atlanta will probably miss out, and Miami will probably miss out. St. Louis and Balt still have players worth watching.

Are you sure? TV listing on NFL.com only has "path to the draft" at 2 tomorrow.

Yeah. Check out the NFL.com home page and in the middle column under headlines the top listing is the NFL schedule program for 2 ET Tuesday. But you are right, the TV listing has something different. They probably didn't change that page yet.

The actual schedule of teams the Pats are playing seems relatively easy, I'm interested to see how the schedule spreads out the 4 west coast trips they have to SD, Oak, SF & Sea.

I saw in USA today NE's opponents winning % last year was .382...easiest schedule this year (as if they need any help).

Pittsburgh has the toughest opponents winning % and also plays the most teams who made the playoffs last year.

Oakland plays the least amount of playoff teams from last year.

tough back to back cross country games weeks 5 & 6. (Fly to SF, fly home, fly to SD, fly home)

same thing weeks 14 & 15 (fly to sea, fly home, fly to Oak, fly home)

I hate the early bye as well.

The Browns host the Giants on Monday, October 13, visit the Bills on Monday, November 17, and travel to Philly on Monday, December 15. The Browns also host the Steelers on a Sunday night in September, and the Broncos on a Thursday night in November.

Its because if the browns suck they at least will be in a ton of high scoring games. and maybe the league took pity on them not being good for so long.

Also there are alot more primetime games this upcoming year than there was 3 years ago.

Interesting: Week 4 looks to be a bye week for Brady, both Mannings, Hass, Kitna, and (uh oh) Beck. At least that will keep the H2H matchups even. Week 8 is the other heavy week for byes (Chi, Cin, Den, GB, Min, Hou).

i dont know why others are upset about the schedules..you know who your team plays up to 2009 (along with teams from other divisions who finish exactly where u do)...the team part is no secret....

is the NFL banking on favre returning? i said he would be back in july...but FOUR primetime games for a team here that will STRUGGLE to win 8?....

Seattle's schedule is pretty good, other than the bye being in week 4. No long stretches of road games. The two toughest road cold-weather sites (Buffalo, NYG) are both early in the season; other road games late in the season are either in domes or in warm weather. For a team that couldn't rely on the running game last year, this is helpful. (Yes yes I know they've signed 53 RBs so far in the offseason...hopefully one of them will pan out this year)

It amuses me (but doesn't surprise me) that the Giants won the Super Bowl and still don't get that much respect. They have 3 prime time games, and the following are NFC teams that have equal or more than that.

Dallas Cowboys (5 games): Not really surprising, as Dallas is always a big draw. They won their division last year, but the Giants beat them in the playoffs.

Philadelphia Eagles (5 games): This is a bit of a surprise. The Eagles finished .500 last year, and they didn't look impressive doing it. Why do they have 5 prime time games?

Chicago Bears (5 games): The Bears finished 7-9 last year, and they have Rex focking Grossman at QB. They suck...a lot. I have no idea why they would get 5 games.

Green Bay (3 games): I understand that they were the #2 seed in the playoffs last year, and they went 13-3. Therefore, I really don't have a problem here, but why would Chicago have 2 more prime time games than GB?

New Orlenas (3 games): They were one of the biggest disappointments last year, and they played as badly as their 7-9 records. I guess I understand, as their offense is supposed to be explosive this season; good offense = good prime time games.

Tampa Bay (3 games): They are a snooze to watch. Wake me when these games are over.

Seattle (3 games): Eh, I can live with this. They make the playoffs every year.

I guess my biggest issues are with Philly, Chicago and Tampa. Just thinking out loud.

There are a number more in the AFC, teams like Cleveland getting 5 prime time games.

But I'm failry sure the Giants had fewer than they otherwise would have due to their parking situation with the construction and their inability to host night games on most days.

I dont think the schedule is going to be as bad as what it looks next year, statistically half the teams fall out of the playoffs the next year, and a couple of the teams on the steelers schedule could easily do it next year. I admit, it probably will still end up in the upper half, but getting the 15th hardest schedule is just as likely as 1rst at the end of next season, imo.
