Being a Lions fan

Recommended Posts

Every single freaking year there's a pile of new reasons to come back to the chipper. You just know that you're gonna get ur schlank grinded up and it's gonna hurt like h3ll, but for some reason, this time it's different. Ya sure, the old man still owns the chipper, but look at the shiny new wheels. Ok, the idiot still runs the chipper and it's leaking gas, but dang it if we can't make a run at this thing. The chipper's been gettin some good press and has looked really s3xy warming up. I'm start'n to see past the obvious flaws, and you know what, this chipper is making me hot. Here we go!!!!!!!

Oh f#$%ing $h1% that hurts!!!!! Holy @#$t!!

why?

why?

Looks like the Bears are the team to beat in your division. Their Defense is back, for now.

Worse being a Bengal fan(who dey my a**) :nono:

Yea, being a Bengals fan must be pretty bad, but the Lions just seem to get worse each year. They never seem to draft many game changing defensive players other than Ernie Sims a few years ago. He didn't seem like a deference maker at all.

Why would they do this, when there is a good WR on the draft board? :nono:

being a jets fan is like riding a constant up and down roller coaster but the climb up is never high enough to be satisfying.

2007- big letdown 4-12

2006- surprise playoff team 10-6

2005- bad year 4-12

2004- playoffs 10-6 (should have defeated Pitt to play in the AFC championship game. ###### you doug brien)

2003- 6-10

2002- surprise playoff berth at 9-7

since 2002 we are on the every even year playoff plan. with horrible years between.

Being a Lion's fan is like being gay in a room full of super models. You are surrounded by talent, but can't score.

Being a Lions fan must be like being a mentally challenged person. Everyone laughs at you because you are goofy and will never win anything.

That's kind of funny because they have the same amount of playoff victories over the last 13 years as the Cowboys do. :dunno:

I had a friend was a big baseball player

Back in high school

He could throw that speedball by you

Make you look like a fool boy

Saw him the other night at this roadside bar

I was walking in, he was walking out

We went back inside sat down had a few drinks

But all he kept talking about was

Glory days well they'll pass you by

Glory days in the wink of a young girl's eye

Glory days, glory days

Well there's a girl that lives up the block

Back in school she could turn all the boy's heads

Sometimes on a friday i'll stop by

And have a few drinks after she put her kids to bed

Her and her husband bobby well they split up

I guess it's two years gone by now

We just sit around talking about the old times,

She says when she feels like crying

She starts laughing thinking about

Glory days well they'll pass you by

Glory days in the wink of a young girl's eye

Glory days, glory days

My old man worked 20 years on the line

And they let him go

Now everywhere he goes out looking for work

They just tell him that he's too old

I was 9 nine years old and he was working at the

Metuchen ford plant assembly line

Now he just sits on a stool down at the legion hall

But i can tell what's on his mind

Glory days yeah goin back

Glory days aw he ain't never had

Glory days, glory days

Now i think i'm going down to the well tonight

And i'm going to drink till i get my fill

And i hope when i get old i don't sit around thinking about it

But i probably will

Yeah, just sitting back trying to recapture

A little of the glory of, well time slips away

And leaves you with nothing mister but

Boring stories of glory days

That's nice, pimp..... Great stories from your rocking chair, grandpa!!!

But the current topic is the Dallas Lions and Detroit Cowboys 0 playoff victories over the last 13 years.... stay on task!!!!!

actually, if they would have taken some out-of-shape, beer-guzzling fans off the street yesterday and played them on defense the score probably would have been closer.

Kinda hard to make a difference when you're surrounded by guys who couldn't crack the starting lineup for NFL Europe teams.

I've often wondered how one becomes or remains a Lions fan. I mean, the teams always suck, the uniforms suck, and the front office sucks.

I am also a Lions fan and I don't know why every year I think they are going to make their way to five hundred or better. It just never happens, I get more pissed every year they continue to let Millen be the GM. FIRE that S.O.B. already!!!!! This could be another long year.

As a Packers fan, I feel blessed that we are the only team in the division without a death wish. It's no accident that the Ford family is a power in both the US auto industry and the Lions franchise. Both entities actually seem to plan for failure the way other organizations plan to succeed. And the Vikings hire QB guru Childress and then want him to mold a guy who can't pass into the next Randall Cunningham. The Bears spend years trying to decide if their QB is going to be Grossman, Orton, or Brian Griese. It's not too early to engrave the NFC North trophy.

Of course, all this could change in a hurry. The fragile Aaron Rodgers is already overdue to get hurt, and he has two rookies backing him up. Collectively, the North has to have the most eccentric management in football.

This thread is starting to read like an AA meeting.

Hello my name is "Swamp Dude" and I am a Detroit Lions fan.

The group collectively says "Hello Swamp Dude"

However I do sympathize, as I am a cubs fan. My Grandfather, my father, myself, and my kids have never seen a cubs win a world series.

I have to admit that I had to surf YouTube for Barry Sanders highlight videos just to snap out of this deep dark depression that week one delivered.

Maybe instead of watching the games on Sunday I can just watch these highlight videos for 3 hours?
