The DNC holding contest to for slogan to put on billboard near Rush Limbaugh's house...

Recommended Posts

Hey, if Howard Dean had gone on national television to say that Cindy Sheehan was The Leader of the Democratic Party, I would have laughed his & her ass off the board. If Cindy Sheehan had 20 Million people lining up daily to hear what she had to say, I'd call all of them idiots too. Trust me on that. If you can't figure out the difference between a lone loon with a sign standing in Crawford Texas and The Republican party's acknowledge "National Republican Leader", we'll, that's on you.

But it makes you look pretty stupid.

Calling Rush a leading conservative AIN'T the same as calling him the leader of the Republican party but continue spinning.

they should have put a billboard outside Terry Shiavos hospital that simply said "Terry! Look at this!" would have saved a lot of debates.

The DNC has a goal. Its primary goal is to cement the Democratic Party into power, just like the purpose of the Republican Party is to regain power.

One way to do this is to attack the other major party and make it appear ridiculous.

By making Rush appear to be the de facto leader of the Republicans, the Dems are attempting to convince public opinion the Republicans are completely out of touch, radicalized, and brainwashed by a few extremist loudmouths. Hence the attack on Rush, which by the way is nothing more than tit for tat.

Whether this will backfire or not remains to be seen.

I understand the goal of the party....but B.O. needs to get out of constant campaign mode. It may be a result of his entire political career being one campaign after the other, but he's the President of the United States....why is he attacking a talk show host. Rush Limbaugh is beneath him. And then to have his party follow up his crap with this? It's ridiculous.

It's obvious what they are doing....and for all you people that bash the Right for pandering to morons....well this comes across the same way. The only people who are going to be swayed by this little campaign by the Left to tie all Repubs to Rush are morons.

Just like we need checks and balances in gov't....we need the media to check all government. There is no doubt about the amount of love the mainstream media has for Barrack Obama. Please don't try to deny this. Add in the Fairness Doctrine, and now attacks on a talk show host who speaks out against the Party.....and I am seeing a real effort by the Democratic Party to have the media report one side of the story....theirs, and that is a scary thing.

I would be against this if any side of the government tried that.

The liberal agenda caused the media blitz saying Rush was the so called "leader" of the GOP. That caused Steele to backtrack.

Boy you're a focking idiot KSB. I already posted the article twice. Steele "backtracked" when Rush called him out for saying rush was just mere "entertainment'. (Step 1) THEN THEN and ONLY THEN did Steele say Rush is a Republican National Leader. (Step 2)

THEN The Democrats jumped all over it. (Step 3)

The new chairman of the Republican National Committee, Michael Steele, apologized to Rush Limbaugh on Monday

STEP ONE

after describing him in a television interview over the weekend as an “entertainer” who made incendiary and sometimes ugly remarks, party officials said.

STEP 2

Mr. Steele called Mr. Limbaugh after the radio host belittled Mr. Steele on his show, questioning his authority and saying the new Republican leader was off “to a shaky start.”

“It’s time, Mr. Steele, for you to go behind the scenes and start doing the work that you were elected to do instead of trying to be some talking head media star, which you’re having a tough time pulling off,” Mr. Limbaugh said, in a transcript of his remarks he posted on his Web site.

“Mr. Steele: You are head of the R.N.C.,” Mr. Limbaugh said. “You are not head of the Republican Party. Tens of millions of conservatives and Republicans have nothing to do with the R.N.C. and right now they want nothing to do with it.”

Mr. Steele told Politico on Monday that he had called Mr. Limbaugh to apologize.

“My intent was not to go after Rush – I have enormous respect for Rush Limbaugh,” Mr. Steele told The Politico. “I was maybe a little bit inarticulate. There was no attempt on my part to diminish his voice or his leadership.”

"I respect Rush Limbaugh, he is a national conservative leader, and in no way do I want to diminish his voice," Steele said in a statement late Monday. "I'm sure that he and I will agree most of the time, but will probably disagree some as well, which is fine.

STEP 3Democrats reacted with glee to the exchange. “Michael Steele has denounced himself for renouncing Rush,” said Paul Begala, an ally of Mr. Emanuel and one of the Democrats presenting Mr. Limbaugh as the face of the G.O.P. “Can anyone seriously argue now that Rush is not the unchallenged leader of the Republican Party?”

Gov. Tim Kaine of Virginia, Mr. Steele’s counterpart at the Democratic National Committee, said: “Chairman Steele’s reversal this evening and his apology to Limbaugh proves the unfortunate point that Limbaugh is the leading force behind the Republican Party, its politics and its obstruction of President Obama’s agenda in Washington.”

Res Ipsa man. It's not that focking hard. You've got the head of the RNC stepping and fetching over this guy. Limbaugh himself brags constnatly that he's the most powerful voice in Conservative America. And The Republican Head calls him a National Leader.

Actually, it went a little something like this: "He is a national conservative leader".

and like I said, If YEEEAAAARRRGHHH had said "Cindy Sheehan is a national democratic leader, national liberal leader, national leader of the left" - any of that shiot - You might have a point.

But, you don't.

You, sir, are the biggest fence-sitter there is here. You take no stand and think that makes you better than everyone else. At least people here other than you have the balls to say what they believe.

Trust me, dude, you're not as smart as you believe.

Don't confuse not jumping into to idiotic political discussions with most here as not taking a stand on any issue.

I take a stand on plenty issues...which is what makes me know I don't align with any actual party on any majority of issues.

Balls? I takes balls to post as Frank M on a message board?

Trust me dude...you have no damn clue how smart I am or not and know nothing about me.

Steele made the mistake of getting caught up in the liberal agenda at all, and the majority of the GOP didn't like him doing so. Therefore just because HE fell into the media trappings getting into it with Rush, doesn't all the sudden annoint Rush "The Leader of the GOP". No matter how much you spin it.

That right there is comedy gold, man. What have you ever taken a stand on? All I ever see you do is come in on the end of a thread and declare that nobody knows what they're talking about. If it's an RP thread, you may come in a little sooner.

Wow...just a complete and total idiotic claim here.

Not my fault you confuse mocking you morons going back and forth over crap to be fence sitting.

Declare nobody knows what they are talking about? Not often.

Mock RP's partisanship? Yup...just like I mock uh-huh's and used to mock torrid (though, he would actually try to have an intelligent conversation no matter how misguided he may have been on some things).

Thanks for the attempt though.

It's politics 101.

When things are going in the sh!tter, and you're at the wheel, better to blame somebody else than admit to your mistakes for fear of having the keys taken away. If nothing else, redirect people's attention to something else.

I gotta laugh at you fockers defending Rush though. This is $$$$$$ to him. He's gotta be loving it. And most fair minded Americans gotta be scratching their heads over the DNC's stunt. I mean, a crumbling economy, the nation's morale in the gutter, and the party in power takes aim at an adversary? It'll back fire.

Is it petty party politics as usual? Yep.

Is it in bad taste? Absolutely.

But I think we're going a bit overboard with the fascist remarks.

At any rate, a certain independent voter...ahem....just e-mailed these focks in search for their rationale behind this stunt. I'll let you know what they say if/when they reply.

Nope...I agree that I like to mock those who do nothing but post partisan crap.

I take a stand on several issues...lately, I have stayed out of most of the political crap because its the same crap over and over.

Know better? I do in a way. I know better than to think actually trying to argue with the likes of RP or Uh-huh is completely pointless...so its easier to mock them and call them out for what they are.

I don't think this will "backfire" on the Democrats in that sense of the word, but Limbaugh is laughing his fat ass off all the way to the bank. For him, truly there is no bad publicity. The Dems going after him only entrenches him deeper as the only voice of the Republicans right now. The Republicans hate that, but if not him - WHOM? And that's the part that the GOP really should be working on in crisis mode. Instead of whining about the process - the Dems making hay from this - They should be throwing someone - SOMEONE out there.

What other Republican got an HOUR of free, uninterrupted, commerical free broadcast time? That's an RNC fock up right there. They should have cut that one off at the pass immediately. "Rush, you got 20 mniutes, CPAC? Fox? You put our guy - John Boehner, McCain, Steele - whoEVER - on for just as long."

That's a fock up (another one) on Steele's part. But again, nobody in the GOP draws an audience like Rush. And like it or not, that's a problem. The GOP is embarassed by their own most popular people by FAR - Palin and Rush.

It's not Rush's fault. It's not Palin's fault - that the GOP base loves these guys. You've cultivated a pretty dim base for the past 8 years - eschewing any moderate or intelligent Republican voices. Now, you're surprised that the National Voice of your party is Rush Limbaugh?

The GOP can biitch about it all they want, but they created this situation. At a minimum, they've created this vaccuum. Stop biitching about it and FIX it.

Best move the GOP can make RIGHT NOW is to make Newt their party chairman. Steele ain't gonna get any smarter anytime soon. Newt's the perfect guy. He can get shiit done. He's popular with the base. He's trying to repair his image. - Money pick right there. :overhead:

...or you can just keep :headbanger: about "libruhls" "the media" and "socialism" - Worked out GREAT for you so far.

Well said. Rush's listenership has gone from 14.2M to 25M (link) since Obama's geniuses decided to pick a fight with him. Have the democrats not listened to other GOP leaders like McConnell, Boeher, and now Steele? They're awful at conveying the conservative message. Why would you want to change from them if you're a democrat? I don't listen to Rush often, but I can tell you that he explains the conservative philosophy in his 3 hours much clearer than the GOP congresscritters do in their 30 seconds sound bites. Again, not sure why the democrats are basically encouraging people to go check him out. And to top it off, Limbaugh is entertaining and funny.
