I agree. I can't believe I wasted time putting together a measured, well thought out, honest response to her question. I hate people that delete threads. On another board I'm on that's the reason they removed the ability for people to delete threads. One person may start a thread but once it's got a number of replies it no longer "belongs to" the original poster. It should be considered everyone's intellectual capital and one person, except the owner of the board, should not have discretion to remove it.

People I know that have a science or medical background often found that they lost their religion when they started becoming more educated, I konw that it was a factor for me when I was going to school.

There's still no reason to delete the thread. So you didn't get what you wanted out of it. Threads morph all the time. Deleting it doesn't get you any more out of it than just abandoning it and let it be what it has become. A thread is what the people make of it and just because you aren't happy with how something morphed doesn't mean you should delete it. I abandoned that thread when it morphed as well. No biggy. There are plenty more.
