Best defenses for week 16 championships

Looking ahead in case I make it to the championship. Who looks good in week 16 guys that is still around on waiver wires?

 

I'm thinking Cleveland DEF against Oakland

Atlanta DEF against Buffalo

New Orleans DEF against Tampa Bay (NO defense has sucked, but TB is awful)

 

any other interesting sleeper defenses?

 

These kind of pickups make the differences.

in my league they are, and have been, the top FF defense in the league for weeks now. they have only 2 games the whole year with less than 10 pts (this week, and week 6). Personally, I'm looking at the Texans (@STL) and Broncos (vs OAK) this week. Saints have a great matchup in week 16 (vs Tampa) and the Bengals have a decent one (vs KC). 49ers in Wk 16 (vs DET) are also prime! I grabbed the Titan this week vs the Rams and rode them to 31 Pts (we have big defensive scoring) and think anyone vs the Rams, anyone vs Jamarcus Russel, anyone vs the Bucs, anyone vs the Lions is a good matchup.

ditto here - I've had the #1 locked up for 2 weeks so had the luxury of looking ahead while others were focused on current week so loving Zona's matchups coming up

i can't bring myself to do it. texans are available, but i don't know. might be a snoozer. i feel like the titans might have righted their ways. i have cinci and niners who would both be great if this week was next week. i'd really like to find someone to give me fifteen.

I thought hard about Cleveland, but can you risk your playoff life with any Browns? Although a Cribbs KO return is always a possibility, I just cant see me bringing myself to do it. I have Titans (home vs. Miami), or SD (home vs Cincy) as choices on my roster. Texans are out there, but they are AT STL and the Rams are not as putrid at home - they have been fairly competitive in the dome. I like home teams when playing matchups. Sea vs. TB is intriguing thinking about up-down theory on Seattle. They have done well defensively at home and TB is a wreck. Tough calls, all.

I locked up the Titans, Broncos and 49ers probably 2 weeks ago......so at the time i was carrying 4 defenses.

I personally would stay away from either of these team defenses. Who knows what is going to happen in that game. I could see a defensive struggle just as likely as an offensive shoot-out. Like someone noted earlier, do you really want to risk your playoff life on either of these teams? The only reason I see using either one is if your other team defense has an awful matchup, like Dallas for instance.

 

That said, how about Washington? You could argue that they are playing as well on the defensive end as any team in football.

I just loaded up the DENVER DST into the chamber as they roll up on Oaktown. I have ND on the sideline for now.

rolling with the seahawks. this discussion convinced me that they were better than my other options. dumped dallas for them and then dumped cinci for the niners. most likely cinci will house the chiefs next week so if someone else did like me, make them pay for it.
