2010 NFL Draft Weekend Team Thread: Seattle Seahawks

Recommended Posts

As a Colts fan, I'd like to congratulate you guys on winning this draft so far. Okung will be the next Ryan Clady, Thomas is a can't miss DB prospect, Tate is the second best WR in this draft. If you had found a way to land McCoy, I'd give it an A+. As it stands, my draft grade is an A-. Three impact players, yet three sure things, each at lower spots than I had them projected.

But you really gotta have a QB. Maybe next year?

Whitehurst -

Hass is good for awhile still... Give him a line and running game he'll be fine.

Next year is not to late though if Whitehurst doesn't pan out - At least we will have some key areas filled around the future QB.

I would like to land a DE tomarrow for sure. But the value might be at RB. Lefevour might be a real nice option in the 4th too.

Talk to guy's on Monday. Hope the rest of the draft goes just as good as these last 2 days. :dunno:

I have Tate as my #4 reciever. But after Dez, everyone's ranking was different. I've seen Tate as high as #2 on some and 3 on others. Plus I have a man crush on a certain reciever also which does skew my rankings some too. So he should actually be #3 on my list.

For rd. 4 I have 3 DE's ranked high. 5 CB's ranked high.

My list is now bare for DT's. And still quit a few RB's left, with some sleepers too.

 Gotta go.

All the non-Hawks fans loving our draft worries me for some reason. Things never go this right. Something stupid has to be just around the next corner.

And my bad getting Campbell confused with Brown.

So far I have to rate this draft an A-minus. It would have been an A+ if we had never picked up Clipboard Jesus, stayed at #40, and watched Clausen fall into our laps.

In the meantime, here's my wish-list for Day 3:

Pick #104: Geno Atkins, DT, Georgia

(the combo of him with Mebane inside would be awesome)

Pick #127: Brandon Lang, DE, Troy

(finally, a guy with some outside quickness, to help replace Tapp and get to the passer)

Pick #133: James Starks, RB, Buffalo

(some thunder to go with Forsett's lightning...and I'm assuming Anthony Dixon is long-gone by this point, or else I'd take him)

Pick #139: Ted Larsen, C, North Carolina State

(could push Spencer, could also be used at guard, ideal skills for a zone-blocking scheme)

Pick #176: Zac Robinson, QB, Oklahoma State

(hey...Tom Brady was picked in the 6th round...if you're going to take a flyer on someone, do it in the 6th)

Pick #245: Shay Hodge, WR, Mississippi

(taller outside receiver to pair with Tate inside)

If we get all of these, we're probably a still a bit off in the pass-rushing department, but made strides in just about all the other need areas. Thoughts?

I can see why Carroll didn't take Mays when he had the chance. Whiney-azz beotch.

http://blog.pressdemocrat.com/49ers/2010/0...nd-round-2.html

Mays said. "I thought from the relationship that we have, the things he had told me about, what I needed to be aware of through the draft process, things I needed to do, I felt like he told me the complete opposite of the actions that he took, which was alarming . . . the things he told me I needed to do as a football player versus the actions he took and how he took as a safety. I understand it's a business, but with it being a business, you have to be honest. That's all I was asking for.

Love the direction we are heading

I want Jonathon Dwyer

That would make a lot of sense. So would Atkins.

Agree with Me_2006. Seattle's draft is looking very solid.

As a season ticket holder of The University of Texas Longhorns. You guys got a great college player. I was truly bummed he came out early, Earl Thomas is the man, the guy is all over the place with great instincts and quick closing ability. He led a great defense to the championship game and he was a big part of it. Seems like a class dude. Congrats on landing a great player.

We just traded down.

Wrong. We just traded it for Lendale White.

Interesting. I'm OK with it.

Edit: I think we picked up a 6th round pick too in the deal.

i like the trade for lendale white. he was the better inside runner and overall running back coming out of usc with bush, and proved his worth his final collegiate season [1300-21] and early with the titans [1100-7, 700-15]. i like him as the blaster up the middle for that offense.

I have no problem with a White / Forsett 1-2 punch.

Bye Bye Double J.

There was maybe decent RB's left, But if Carroll's more comfortable with White over any of them. Even McKnight and Johnson who are both left. Then I'm O.K. with it to.

We also got DT Vickerson. I'll take him with Mebane,Cole, and Bryant.

*Plus we only moved down in 4 and 6 a couple of spots.

Tennessee flat out robbed.

WOW - I'm not a big L. White fan but this is a sweet move....

We also get a DT out of it to where there is nothing left in the draft there - And we lose no picks! Just move down a bit.

L. White has some potential and probably does fit our backs well if Forsett is the speed. He kinda did just get pushed out with 4.24. He wasn't awfull.

I like this move allot actually. :headbanger:

Seattle gets

Lendale White, RB

Kevin Vickerson, DT

#111

#185

Tennessee gets

#104

#176

We just got a starting RB and possibly a staring DT for flopping in the 4th and 6th. Am I crazy, or is this trade a steal?

Lendale White and Justin Forsett.

4.13 Walter Thurmond, CB, Oregon

A bit of a reach. I had him going around #135, a fifth round value. We clearly need defensive backfield help, so I'll let this one pass, hoping Carroll can still recognize the talent of defensive backs.

Edit: and USC played in the same conference at Oregon.

If he didn't get hurt last year, he could be higher.

If anyone knows a Pac 10 CB it'll be Carroll. So I say why not.

I just read up on him. His biggest problem has been durability. When he's on the field, he's a stud. That says alot coming from the pac 10 areal show. I'll trust Carrolls judgement here.

I like that CB pick.... He looked good before the injury, and he got hurt doing kick return and walked off after. I think he's a tough guy actually.

He's got a rehab site out there.

HUGE NEED for us in my view.

4.29 EJ Wilson, DE, North Carolina

Reeeeeeach with this pick. #239 overall.

Better vs run, technique problems, overachieved to even get drafted. As much as DE is a need, we need guys that can get to the QB. This guy can't.

A knee injury for a cornerback...not good.

But it's worth a roll of the dice for a 4th round pick. It could work out fine. Hell, with one leg, he is probably better than Jennings.

5.2 Kam Chancellor, CB, Virginia Tech

The value is OK, as I had him ranked in this range. I have no complains about wanting to rebuild the secondary. He is a corner/safety, so he likely to challenge somebody for a starting spot, either Josh Wilson or Babineaux.

I suppose I could complain that there were higher rated players still on the board, including defensive backs.

Me likey.

I'm more of the 1, 3 down back kinda guy.

But the league has moved on from that. It's 2 and 3 back systems now.

I have no problem with a White/Washington/Forsett combo.

Schmitt at FB, and can een see Carroll moving Cartwright to FB.

 In my book.

bye bye Jones and Rankin.
