spinoff: Best Slam Dunks

Recommended Posts

i dont know.

On one hand we have Vince Carter dunking over a 7 footer in an Olympic game. I know some of the olympic competition is meh but Weiss was drafted at one point by the Knicks. And Weiss doesn't even duck much. Not like Howard ducked when Krypto-Nate dunked over him.

On the other hand we have a "720" dunk performed in an And 1 mixtape exhibition. It is very impressive and all but he is already sideways to the basket before his feet even leave the ground.

LOl at you picking apart the 720. ok it was a 690. Either way, going up spinning twice and being high enough to dunk the ball take not only hops but crazy timing and just pure hops/body control.

They are both nice, but I go 720 all day.

i said it was very impressive. but if we take situation into consideration i think it puts VC over the top.

Plus the 720 was just to show off.

Vince's dunk was a result of trying to get the ball into the basket.

Now if the 720 had come as a result of spinning away from a defender, that'd be another thing.

i tend to agree with this but a dunk is a dunk afterall. Im not a big and1 mixtape fan as there is a reason most of those guys can't make it in the NBA but to discredit an exhibition dunk would also be to discredit anything from the All Star Slam Dunk contests.

still, I think the fact it comes in a serious game adds to its value.

I like dunks that actually meant something..

Ok..You want to play it like that...

The most impressive dunk in 'real' competition that I have ever seen was the below :

I absolutely hate the Knicks, but I remember watching this dunk live, and I just sat there opened mouthed in awe with what he did.

Carters dunk was not in 'real' competition, IMO.

Videos don't show up on my BB but, I'm gonna assume you posted the Starks dunk and if so, well played Sir!

i know the Olympics is watered down playing against some of those international teams but it was still real competition with refs calling travels and fouls and stuff. not like its And1 or a dunk contest.
