Jeepz 0 Posted August 13, 2010 First, thanks to Vikings4ever for having my back on the selection threads. Generally don't like getting out of round 2 without a RB, but the RB values at this point don't thrill me in a PPR league, and view Calvin as the last of the elite WRs. This, exactly. As I said in the other comments, I really wanted to pick an RB, but just wasn't thrilled by my options. I figured the next three RBs I have on my list (to discuss later) all have some questions surrounding them, and if I don't want to go WR again, why not grab a QB that I'll want to watch and who won't be there on my next pick. Don't get me wrong, I do think he's valued at around this pick (maybe a couple picks lower with 4pt PassTD), I'm just not used to getting out of the second without an RB. We'll see what it means for my RB selections on the swing around, I'm in uncharted waters here.
remote controller 143 Posted August 13, 2010 This draft is as according to Hoyle, as far as 10 teamers go. We should all feel damn good with these squads.

NAn 39 Posted August 13, 2010 In a 10teamer/ppr the idea of passing on RBs at this point, especially considering that the RBs usually taken in this area have their questions, is solid thinking. Can get a leg up ppr wise and should be enough talent at RB on the comeback 3/4 turn, and future rounds. I'll be honest that more risky in a 12 teamer as I did something similar from 12 spot and put my self in bad position as RBs available at 3/4 turn were not the best options IMO. Solid picks at end and through 2 picks in 2nd, honestly my concern is Megatron. As talented as he is he showed last year he can't do it on his own. Hard to pass on him here though, and upside is undeniable. Fitz/Rodgers are solid and really warming up to White and really like that pick as well.
WhiteWonder 2,729 Posted August 13, 2010 bahh. so sorry guys. been running all over the place today and between IBL stuff and real life stuff, this keeps slipping my mind. i swear it wont happen again Brandon Marshall over 1 other player here. I just like Marshall. I think **** will lock on to him.

WhiteWonder 2,729 Posted August 13, 2010 yep, that was the other guy. I went Marshall because i have a man crush but also because he should have less competition in the pasisng game... albeit on a worse passing offense than Miles austin. Can't go wrong either way though. also, i keep forgetting this thing is 10 teams not 12.

ICEMAN 44 Posted August 14, 2010 remote got a steal with Austin. I was watching that drop to me and I was like "...are you kidding me? These guys aren't going to let Austin drop to me, are they? It's like taking candy from a baby!" All for naught. Well...Brees is a nice fall-back plan. ICEMAN
Gladiators 1,984 Posted August 14, 2010 Not a big fan of having Gore and Sjax on the same team, but I can't pass up one of the better PPR backs for the WR's left on the board. Here's to hoping both stay healthy and the Ram's putting up at least 30 offensive TD's this season...
FeelingMN 273 Posted August 14, 2010 Seems early for DeJax and I don't feel too comfortable with him being my WR1, but I like him better than the other receiving options available. Also considered going RB here, but of the handful of backs I like, one should make it back to me at 3.04. I don't think Philly is going to adjust their philosophy with a change in personnel. They're gonna continue to wing it and unless their secondary is vastly improved, they're going to give up some points too. All of this points to good things for DeJax. There was no answer for him on the field. He might be unstoppable this season. You can't double flat out speed!!! I would have changed to DeSean ifrom Austin if I could, The two are very similar in that they just play at a faster level then those guarding them. It's like a Berman highlight speed up thingie. They just leave the defenders.

They just leave the defenders. There's no denying his physical skills. The guy is a freak. The thing that worries me though is he really doesn't get thrown to a lot. He had 4 or fewer receptions in 9 games last year. Of course, he can do a lot with a little but I feel more comfortable with a guy who's being targeted a lot...Roddy White, for instance. Maybe I should start rethinking my stance on Jackson. In the mocks I've done (non ppr) he is almost always sitting there at 3.04. If I can be confident I can get that kind of production in the 3rd, I'll have no problem going RB-RB.
NAn 39 Posted August 14, 2010 Like Brees pick there, as again in 10team, think Ice'll have solid rb options to pair with him/AJ. Sjax took a tumble, but hard to pass on value there Glad...couple of ppr machines with that starting rb corp. Also feel just a tad early for DJax, but if you like him you like him. Kevinv86 1 Posted August 14, 2010 Wow you guys really killed my strategy of WR in the 2nd round. I had to take turner here. If the man stays healthy he is a beast. This puts 2 solid RB for me to build off of. I have to admit this has gone differently then any mock I have done this year, and it should make things intersting here on out. NAn 39 Posted August 15, 2010 10 teamer/ppr is going to make this fall a bit out of the norm Kev. I'm not high on Turner, but he was great value there so hard to pass...I would have had to consider him myself had he slipped past you. Thoughts on Jennings overall and at this spot? Think he's first WR in the next tier after the big guys went earlier. Think he bounces back from last year, but looking for thoughts.

I see him in much the same light as I do DeSean Jackson in that both aren't targeted a whole lot but can put up points in a hurry due to their ability for long scores. I think his numbers are somewhere between '09 and '08. With Rodgers' maturation, he's hitting the open receivers....he's not necessarily locking into any one guy. The potential is there for double digit TDs, but I see something more like 7-8. Regardless, I think he was the easy choice for WR....he's more appealing than the other guys still available.
