Pop up blockers are on in IE. If you are suggesting I switch browsers, I would rather switch sites.

Chrome is great, but it's pop-up blocker does not seem to work at all.

 

The pop-ups on FFToday are incredible annoying due to the audio, I would love for them to eliminate that screaming wench.

Mike, please mute the sound by default on the popups. I read forums at work when I am free, and my colleagues got a pretty good laugh out of it today, when my linux box speaker just went blaring with her voice. I cant for the life of me figure out how to disable that speaker. Please do the right thing here. That pop up is bad user experience.

 

Also i click on rest of your targeted banner ads on the top to support the site.

Advertising is a key component in keeping FFToday financially viable. Trust me, if we could do away with all the ads and find a less-intrusive revenue stream I would do it in a heartbeat. I don't like them for a number of reasons but there a necessity at this point in time.

 

That being said, I understand the annoying nature of the pop-ups and I've put in a request with our ad provider to have these style of ads removed from the site. If you continue to see them after Friday please send me an email and let me know.

I don't think anyone has a problem with you making money. You need to pay for the servers and traffic somehow, we sure don't pay. The problem is the pop-up volume is not only annoying, it is far too loud.

Its an inbuilt system speaker, running redhat on it, i cant seem to find the device id to disable it.
