jocstrap 8 Posted November 30, 2010 Why not? Maurice Morris should be gone by now if you were good. Westy is next in line, grab him b4 your other league mates, then wait a couple of days to see about Gore's injury. At least you block somebody else who is desperate. msudavedawg 5 Posted November 30, 2010 Was wondering the same thing. Though Westy is always a high ankle sprain waiting to happen. He was Gore before Gore came along.
MDC 5,931 Posted November 30, 2010 I'm 8-3 after this week and chasing down the 9-2 team for the division lead and a first round bye. That team has Gore and he's got the only team ranked higher than me. Hell yeah I'm putting a WW claim on Gore, if for no other reason than to screw my competition. bjsteel 34 Posted November 30, 2010 Westy won't be playing Arizona every week, and that O just sucks with T. Smith throwing errant passes all over the place...
neworleansff2003 0 Posted November 30, 2010 yeah, the rest of their run defense schedule is brutal except seattle. Westy won't be playing Arizona every week, and that O just sucks with T. Smith throwing errant passes all over the place...
YoMan 0 Posted November 30, 2010 Because of his recent past I doubt that Westbrook will remain healthy if Gore is out for any extended period of time.

YoMan 0 Posted November 30, 2010 what? what is this? you're hurting my head:) I got burned by him in 2008 but maybe a year and a half off will make him fresh for the stretch run especially if that other post is true about Gore being done for the season. In 2008 he would tantalize you with a few good games and then have awful games mostly due to nagging injuries when you needed him the most (playoffs). I think I might try to pick him up off the WW especially since AP is also injured.
stonewall 647 Posted November 30, 2010 This is why it is wise to stay atop the waiver wire order.......which I am not.
Joey Gladstone 33 Posted November 30, 2010 Not I. I have pretty much no depth, Forsett, Donald Brown and Pierre Thomas (remember him?!?!), behind starters AP and Hillis. I would love to grab Westy or Gerhart, but because I've been in first place almost the entire season, and because our league institutes some poosay, Socialist system of having waiver claims processed from worst to first, I will once again be 12th in the order. Though, the one big pickup I was able to land this season, Hillis (after week 1), was probably the best of the year. I make sure to remind my league mates of this daily. giraldi02 470 Posted November 30, 2010 This is why it is wise to stay atop the waiver wire order.......which I am not. This is why I love having the waiver system like this. It's strategy to avoid using your waiver on the flash in the pan players that perform for one week but are generally not good options for the long term. I've been sitting on a number two waiver for a while, but Westbrook is going to be one of those guys that I target this week. Westy in a PPR league is a must add attempt IMHO. He's fresh, a year removed from the concussions, and he's behind an offensive line that can run block. Remember, while he's always been mr questionable, his performance on the field has been great. Now he has his chance. As an Eagles fan, I'm very happy for Westy.
stonewall 647 Posted November 30, 2010 I know it was only Zona, but as another poster mentioned, he looks so very fresh.....cutting, spinning, getting extra yardage. Kinda like LT looked the 1st haalf dozen games this year. I can see him being an excellent addition to a team needing RB depth, although losing goal line carries will be a concern. I could see a RBBC.
surferskin 30 Posted November 30, 2010 So is he worth the #1 waiver priority or not?
Pogs23 6 Posted November 30, 2010 So is he worth the #1 waiver priority or not? This is my question... I am number 1 in the WW order and am curious if I should add him. He will most likley not play on my roster unless 2 of these 3 Foster, Johnson or McCoy get hurt. Guess I have to keep him away from the rest of the league. p00h 85 Posted November 30, 2010 So is he worth the #1 waiver priority or not? what kind of retard question is this retard??? It's week 13, you waiting for a rainy day in february???
Low Score 0 Posted November 30, 2010 Yea, my league does that waiver order method as well and it sucks. No strategy involved and the teams that prepare and do well, get punished. All it does is keep everyone at around .500. The difference between the really great owners and the really rookie owners is maybe a game or two. Not I. I have pretty much no depth, Forsett, Donald Brown and Pierre Thomas (remember him?!?!), behind starters AP and Hillis. wildbluefan 0 Posted November 30, 2010 Don't forget Anthony Davis, the back-up and goal-line back...he looked great in pre-season ! Might be sneaky late-season pick-up of the year !

browns16-0 30 Posted November 30, 2010 I'm going all in on Westy. Maybe it's just nostalgia from year's past when I've owned him, but it's week 13 and I am looking for that somebody that shows up every year around this time (Jamal Charles, Jerome Harrison) to carry my team to win it all. Gore accounted for 40% of his team's offensive production, so there is a ton of carries and receptions to be had here. I mean Brian Westbrook was Frank Gore before Frank Gore. To me it seems like the perfect storm.
Gsizzle 0 Posted November 30, 2010 are u kidding me! get dixon hes gonna get half the carries and ALL the goal line looks!!! brooke will be concussed or roll an ankle SOON!
browns16-0 30 Posted November 30, 2010 brooke will be concussed or roll an ankle SOON! Dumb. I need him to be healthy for 3-4 weeks, and he is about as fresh as you can be for a football player in week 13. I am rolling with him for sure.
Gsizzle 0 Posted November 30, 2010 dumb????? i just gave u his injury history and the fact that dixon will get the goal line carries! lol what u need and what u get are two diff things!!
browns16-0 30 Posted November 30, 2010 dumb????? i just gave u his injury history and the fact that dixon will get the goal line carries! lol what u need and what u get are two diff things!! Up until last year Westbrook would have over 300 touches a season and play 13-15 games a season. He is threat out of the backfield, making him especially valuable in PPR. He can do everything Frank Gore could do. Run, catch, and block. He is essentially the same player in the roles he fills. The 49ers offense does not change with Westbrook in the backfield. Dixon is a late round rookie. He is more of a short yardage back. He averaged less than 3 yards a carry on his 14 attempts last night, while Westbrook averaged close to 6 on his 23 attempts. Do I expect Westbrook to get all the carries? No. But, I do expect him to get 2/3 of them, just like last night. Sure Dixon may vulture some his td's away, but if you are looking are for a player with huge upside at a hard position to fill, than Westbrook is your choice imo. Do you want a Brandon Jacobs or Thomas Jones, or do you want an Ahmad Bradshaw or Jamal Charles? I am not saying Dixon couldn't be productive, but he has no track record and Westbrook seems to be a player with much more upside. Just my two cents.
Gsizzle 0 Posted November 30, 2010 hey man great points! i just think with a fractured hip and franks last year on his deal san fran might want to see if dixon can really play! obviously westy is not the future! but who knows man!
American Chewy 98 Posted December 1, 2010 dixon's fumble didnt help his cause. that said i grabbed him just in case something does happen to westbrook. i was out of waiver points and couldnt get westy (i'm the gore owner). I think dixon's worth stashing if you have the room, at least to see how this plays out.

Unbelievably, San Fran is still in the playoff hunt so they're going to playing to win games, not see what they have in some late round RB.
GridIronAssassin#1 0 Posted December 1, 2010 I think Westbrook just saved my season. It's like getting a 1st round running back in week 13. I gladly dumped that dirtbag K. Williams of Washington. I have to beat the guy who has Peyton Hillis and Arion Foster. And I'm liking my chances
