Boston Three Party 6 Posted March 6, 2011 FWIW though, I'm only irritated because they were my team to go all the way this year in my pool, and now it's FOCKED. In so many ways more than one! ZING. Don't see them lasting losing a top 3 player.
gocolts 300 Posted March 6, 2011 Laughable. You're too old to remember when you were what - 19 is he? Exactly. BYU RECRUITS. Yes they have a code, but kids will be kids. It's COOL THOUGH - have 10 wives and 32 kids when you're married. Sure I remember when I was 19. However, I didn't sign a contract saying I would abstain like this focking arrogant azzhole who seems to think that rules do not apply to him for some focking reason. He is pathetic, weak, and extremely selfish.

However, I didn't sign a contract saying I would abstain like this focking arrogant azzhole who seems to think that rules do not apply to him for some focking reason. He is pathetic, weak, and extremely selfish. You are really for some reason unusually hostile to this kid. Look, the kid had a strict moral upbringing in the Mormon church and is probably ethically and morally cleaner than 99.9% of other NCAA students. It's hard to lead this strict moral life and his only transgretion is wanting to have sex with his girlfriend. BYU is going to have to do what they do -and everybody knows how they are- including him- he knew very well the consequences of his actions, but it's pretty hard to constrain your sexual passion as his religion expects him to. "Pathetic, weak, and extremely selfish", give me a break. He's none of those things. His religion places high demands on his personal conduct and he fell short of their lofty goals. That's it. Voltaire 5,363 Posted March 6, 2011 I disagree with the assessment -from Big Blue and cbfalcon and others- that this will hurt BYU's recruitment. BYU recruits internally from the strict, hardline members of the Mormon church. They aren't going to be an option for most students, but they never have been anyways. BYU has strict moral requirements and Mormon kids (actually) like that, they respect that, and they will continue to be very attracted to that because they also hold themselves to those same standards. BYU will continue to be the destination of choice for highly athletic Mormon who want to play competitive sports at the highest college levels. Students LIKE the conduct code and for those that do, few if any other schools offer what they offer.

You're making it out like he got caught sniffing a mound of cocaine, running a dogfighting ring, or raping a college co-ed. I think this scenario is just a little different. Yeah he agreed to a code saying that he wouldn't engage in premarital sex, but who among us hasn't bent the rules a little bit at some point in our lives? You see him bending the rules, I see it as he flat out broke the rules. He didn't have to go to this school. Actually, by him choosing this school makes him even more stupid. He obviously lacks commitment and character. He really focked over a lot of folks just to get his d1ck wet.

Isn't this one of the finer experiences in life? Gocolts..... being celibate for 4 years is difficult. Being celibate for 4 years when you are 19 years old and in college is damn near impossible. If this kid is actually a Mormon, which I'm not sure he is, but if he is, he was probably more concerned about what God was thinking than his basketball coaches. I'm sure he didn't do it to blatantly fock over his team. And if it really focks things up for him, moreso that the girl may be pregnant, it was a mistake. But people make this same "mistake" all the time. I'm sure in the heat of the moment when he was banging his girlfriend he wasn't thinking about his basketball career. He was thinking about blowing his load - which is pretty much what all 19 year old guys are thinking about.

What, did he fall and his d1ck just accidently fell into his girlfriend's twat???? Give me a break wit this mistake BS. As far as the rest is concerned, he most certainly did fock over his team purposely. Unless you really believe he railed his girlfriend by accident. You are right though, he wasn't thinking about anything, except for himself and his own gratification. To him, everyone and everything else is secondary to his pen1s' needs, including his school, teammates, commitments, etc...

The urge to procreate is a natural human instinct necessary for the survival of our race. I just don't think he had sex to intentionally screw over the team. He was probably not thinking with the head attached to his neck, which is the case for a lot of boys his age. I waited until I was 20. Says the national spokesman for keeping your d1ck in your pants. MedStudent 56 Posted March 8, 2011 Jim McMahon's take on BYU: Jim McMahon Talks About B.Y.U.’s Honor Code By TONI MONKOVICThe banishment of Brandon Davies from the Brigham Young basketball team has left a lot of people befuddled. The strict honor code almost seems as if it’s from another era. Then consider that the free-spirited quarterback Jim McMahon went to B.Y.U. but was never booted out. How was that possible? And what does he think about all this? As it turns out, McMahon recently gave an interview on the subject to Gino Torretta and Steve White of 560 WQAM in Miami. McMahon said it “was a strange, strange place to go to school.” The complete interview is available here. McMahon said he was asked to leave B.Y.U. on the day after after his final bowl game with the team. “They said they had just been informed that I was doing some things,” he said. “I said, Look, I’ve been here five years, man. You follow me around, you stake out my apartment. You don’t know what I’m doing? C’mon. They know what’s going on there.” “When you go to college, you’re supposed to have some fun, and that’s not the place to have fun.” Here are a few snippets of the interview from SportsRadioInterviews.com: I mean they’re college kids, man, they’re going to do things. You know sometimes people will tell on you and sometimes they won’t. I saw a lot of hypocrisy when I was there and that’s what turned me off about it. Guys in administration, higher-ups, sneaking off for coffee, these kinds of things that are supposedly illegal, too, yet some people get away with it and some don’t.” Did you know this honor code existed when you got there? Did they explain it to you? “They explain it to you. They say: ‘Oh, we have this honor code. People will probably talk to you about the religion and this and that.’ They said, ‘All you have to do is tell them I’m not interested.’ But I have to say I’m not interested for five years before I get out. It was every day. You get hounded by it.” And yet McMahon said he’d do it all again because it was a great place to learn offensive football. He said he would recommend B.Y.U. to high school players who were serious about becoming better offensive players. “You just have to take some grief,” he said. He concluded with, “You got to do a lot of things in private, but you can definitely have fun there if you want.” Extra point: B.Y.U. has taken a lot of criticism for punishing Davies. Does it also deserve some respect for being true to its values http://fifthdown.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/03/05/jim-mcmahon-talks-about-b-y-u-s-honor-code/

Especially if they say the sex was a mistake. You know that's not the same thing at all. In this case, this guy basically agreed to not have sex with the woman I'm presuming he was in a pretty serious relationship with since they were probably together since high school. Would it be that easy for you to be in a relationship with someone and not have sex with them for four years? ETA: I just read an article that said the girl is not pregnant. So why the fock would he admit to it? Did they have cameras in his bedroom for christ's sake?

nikki2200 4 Posted March 8, 2011 I just thought it was interesting that they never came down on McMahon until the day after he had played in his last bowl game of his senior year when set 32 NCAA records. Yea. It is interesting fo sho. And it seems like these "violations of the honor code" probably happen all the time. We are talking about 18-22 year olds here. Which does make it odd that they would come down on him right before the tournament, especially because it appears the GF is NOT pregnant so there was no immediate need to take action. But this kid is no Jim McMahon.

Now if he went to a different school, who the fock cares. Plenty of people said he focked up. But you are acting like he murdered someone and focked their dead corpse. He is 19. His genitals won the battle of good vs evil. It's not that hard to believe. What is unreal is how you are claiming that this was some kind of malicious act on his part and he purposely did something to fock over his team.
