Portis26 0 Posted April 15, 2011 but I'll vote for Pouncey cause I think he's got the highest rep due to his brother. You vote for someone because of his brother? because you've 'heard' the name before? I hope Jed Bush doesn't ever run for President lol
Portis26 0 Posted April 15, 2011 Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Justin Houston, DE/OLB, Georgia Coach Morris is from defensive side of ball and the offense is coming around. So let's add the the D
Hawkfin 32 Posted April 15, 2011 You vote for someone because of his brother? because you've 'heard' the name before? I hope Jed Bush doesn't ever run for President lol You took one sentence out of my post and mixed my words. Pouncey is highly rated and I said he fits a Giants need. I didn't vote for him because of his brother.
Stewburtx8 67 Posted April 15, 2011 Tampa Bay: Obviously the pass rush is the biggest need. I think Wilkerson and Liuget are the best available on the defensive line right now, but I think the best fit for the Bucs as a pure pass rusher is Adrian Clayborn, DE, Iowa. Mike FF Today 729 Posted April 15, 2011 20. Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Adrian Clayborn, DE, Iowa After being regarded as one of the top overall prospects entering the year, a disappointing season dropped Clayton’s stock. He didn’t do himself any favors by not participating in the Senior Bowl. He could be a value pick for the Bucs here, who look to bolster their edge pass rushing after focusing on the interior line in last year’s draft. However, an underwhelming performance at the NFL Combine could have him fall out of the first round.

Hawkfin 32 Posted April 15, 2011 I did , didn't I sorry I could have worded my statement better looking back. I mainly meant that Pouncey has a GREAT rep. Both him and his brother. Nfl blood lines kind of thing. And he's highly rated among nfl coaches, scouts, and media and had a good combine. So my thought process was that I could see him going based on these things a little earlier then say Gabe or Soder who have been traditionally ranked higher in the past. (Or used to be anyway) But, I still stand behind that I think he made a good fit for the Giants as they could also use a Center. Anyway, It's all good. I could see TB going DE also... (Maybe Wilkerson or Clayborn) I could see a CB going too like Jimmy Smith. But, I also think they have a need at LB so I'm going with: Akeem Ayers
IGotWorms 4,058 Posted April 15, 2011 x2 for Jimmy Smith. Clayborn would be a good fit for them but I think medical concerns are going to cause him to slide.
worm 36 Posted April 15, 2011 Stephen Holder of the St. Petersburg Times believes Aqib Talib is done in Tampa Bay in large part for fear of punishment from commissioner Roger Goodell if the team doesn't take a stand A couple weeks ago this pick would have been Clayborn, but now I'm going to say Jimmy Smith. He does have some character concerns, but Tampa took a chance on Talib, which has backfired, and they're hoping it won't happen again. Tampa Bay selects: Jimmy Smith, CB, Colorado
Mike FF Today 729 Posted April 15, 2011 21. Kansas City Chiefs – ?
Mike FF Today 729 Posted April 15, 2011 The Chiefs take: Nate Solder, OT, Colorado KC has obvious needs at wide receiver, nose tackle and outside linebacker but I think the No. 21 pick is too high for LB Akeem Ayers or DT Phil Taylor... or any WR left on the board. Wouldn't be surprised to see the Chiefs try and trade out of this slot.
worm 36 Posted April 15, 2011 Chiefs - Akeem Ayers edit: Yeah, thought it was kind of high for Ayers too, but can't project for trade downs in a mock. Starting with TB or even NYG, that's where the trade action could start for the QB-needy teams.
Smileseers 54 Posted April 15, 2011 I think that DT Corey Liuget of Illinois is a good fit for the Chiefs. Liuget can play any position on the defensive line.

Ya, if this draft went like this I could also see a trade here as well - To get in front of the Hawks to get a QB. I'll X2 with Ayers. Ayers has been moving up the draft boards from what I see and there is lots of LB needing teams. I think he'll be a 1st round pick. I picked him for TB last round, so I'll stay with him here. Stewburtx8 67 Posted April 15, 2011 No way they take Smith- I think Brandon Harris goes next from the CB position I definitely don't see that talent wise. Smith has much better size and speed than Brandon Harris does, and is just a better all around cornerback in my opinion. But I guess Smith's off the field issues could turn teams away. I agree though, I don't think he is the kind of player a young team like Tampa would take. I could also see Aaron Williams in the mix over Brandon Harris. Harris lacks the ideal size at the cornerback position, and I don't think he really makes up for it elsewhere. Right now I'd rank him 5th at cornerback, but it's very close and probably fluctuates a lot from team to team. To keep this moving, I'll make it 3 on Akeem Ayers. I don't see anyone that stands out for KC here as far as the perfect fit, but Ayers could certainly help them.
Portis26 0 Posted April 15, 2011 Colts take Solder from Colorado They need ol help and he is one bad mutha lol

I'm down on Jimmy Smith, and not just for off the field issues either. I don't see his play being all that good. However, like you said he does have the size and "supposed" speed (I don't see it on tape during games) so he would go first most likely. I could see Williams moving into the #3 CB pick actually though. (J. Smith and Harris maybe 2nd rounders) I still rank Harris above Smith though on my personal likes. His size sucks. So dissapointed in that. He came in smaller then I originally thought and what his school had. Biggest down fall for Harris and why he should drop into the 2nd round now. But, I like him. He throws his body around for a small guy and can tackle very good and cover. I think he'll be good still, but will have a hard time against the big wides. I'd love the Hawks to land Harris in the 2nd after taking a QB or Oline.
Hawkfin 32 Posted April 15, 2011 Colts take Solder from Colorado They need ol help and he is one bad mutha lol I agree with the possition pick unless they go CB instead, but Gabe is the BAD MUTHA that will be an All Pro. Solder "if I remember right" is coming from a different possition and is under sized right now. He's got big potential, but I feel he's a big risk too. I didn't like him all that much from what I saw. Very raw. Gabe will be a stud and from day 1 will come right in. I like him more then Constonza even. He's by far my favorit if the Hawks go Oline and he last's that long.
worm 36 Posted April 15, 2011 Solder "if I remember right" is coming from a different possition and is under sized right now. Solder started college as a tight end, but I don't know how you can say he's under sized at 6'8", 320 lbs. Colts - Gabe Carimi, OT
Hawkfin 32 Posted April 15, 2011 Solder started college as a tight end, but I don't know how you can say he's under sized at 6'8", 320 lbs. Colts - Gabe Carimi, OT hmmm... I guess his size is better then I thought. Good point. Never would have thought he was at 320? I thought when I looked him up he was at like 260-280 area or something like that. He still looks skinny though. Arms small. Not a big lifter. Maybe he grows more though? I also remember him getting over powered on tape that I saw. I still like Gabe more. My Oline Ranks: Gabe is my #1, Costonzo #2, Pouncey #3, T. Smith #4, Solder #
Hawkfin 32 Posted April 15, 2011 Solder started college as a tight end, but I don't know how you can say he's under sized at 6'8", 320 lbs. Colts - Gabe Carimi, OT X2 for Gabe for the Colts. And my picks for the weekend as I won't be checking in, but wanted my say for the Seahawks: Solder for Phily Wilkerson for Saints Ryan Mallett for Seahawks - YEA (I know Locker is a better fit, but I don't care. He's more of a project) Enjoy
IGotWorms 4,058 Posted April 15, 2011 I will also vote Carimi to the Colts. Next up is Philly.
Stewburtx8 67 Posted April 15, 2011 If Carimi is gone and so is Jimmy Smith, then I'll say Nate Solder is the best pick for Philly. OT and CB are their biggest needs, and they don't put much stock in LB.
Mike FF Today 729 Posted April 16, 2011 23. Philadelphia Eages... Solder gets my vote as well as offensive line is a position of need. Nate Solder, OT, Colorado -
IGotWorms 4,058 Posted April 16, 2011 Brandon Harris is the last top corner prospect out there. He'd be gone well before the Eagles picked in round 2 and I don't think they want to get frozen out of the corner market. So Harris is my pick.
Portis26 0 Posted April 16, 2011 Philly always needs lineman lol Nate Solder, OT, Colorado - x3
Portis26 0 Posted April 16, 2011 24. New Orleans Saints Martez Wilson, LB, Illinois Gregg Williams will be salivating to draft this speedy linebacker. He can play both inside and outside, and can really get to the ball quickly.

Mike FF Today 729 Posted April 17, 2011 Defense seems to be the choice for New Orleans but which front-seven player? I'll go with Clayborn. Current consensus for the 24. New Orleans Saints... Martez Wilson, LB, Illinois - 1 Adrian Clayborn, DE, Iowa - 2 Muhammad Wilkerson, DE, Temple - 1 Justin Houston OLB, Georgia - 1 Corey Liuget, DT, Illinois -
Stewburtx8 67 Posted April 17, 2011 I'll say Muhammed Wilkerson to the Saints. I think he is a top 15 talent in this draft and a good fit for a team that NEEDS to improve it's pass rush. I like Clayborn too but there is the red flag that he suffers from Erb's palsy. I hope he has a great career and overcomes this going forward, but it could force teams to shy away from a player that is also a top 20 talent in this draft. Just my opinion.
Joey Gladstone 33 Posted April 18, 2011 I'll go Liuget for the Saints. I think they go defense and IMHO he's the best d-lineman left on the board. Teams will be lucky to land him in the mid 20's. And for the next pick, Ryan Mallett to the Seattle Seahawks. Please refer to the Exciting thread for reasons. I've been all over his jock for a while now. He comes with a lot of risk (just like every QB in this draft) but nobody else from Gabbert to Mustain can read an NFL defense or throw a ball with the strength and accuracy of Ryan Mallet. He's slower then sh!t, but so were a lot of great QB's coming out. On video he looks quick enough to step away from the rush. I also have full faith that Tom Cable will build a very nice O-line with Russell Okung as the cornerstone. The character concerns are overblown. His only transgression was a drinking in public charge a couple years ago. Seattle has a lot of holes, but none of them are as glaring as the one at QB. The team and Hass are miles apart on a new contract and a lot of writers think he's as good as gone. Whitehurst sucks and is an adequate backup at best. This team needs to take chances if they are ever going to become a legit contender again. I'll be surprised if both Mallett and Locker are around at 25 on April 28th.
