WhiteWonder 2,732 Posted June 7, 2011 Almost went in a safe, steady direction but I Like yards, td's and big play ability in this format
Jeepz 0 Posted June 7, 2011 Nice. He was the guy I was contemplating along with Blount in Rd. 2. Was hoping he might fall, dammit.
Jeepz 0 Posted June 7, 2011 I've got a meeting in 10 minutes, should be back by 10:30, but Mike has my picks just to keep things moving.
WhiteWonder 2,732 Posted June 7, 2011 Bowe was the other big play wr I considered but I don't see 15 again. Also gave consideration to manning but with this format, a top qb is less paramount
Dan 66 Posted June 7, 2011 All I can is . . . "Wow!" What a boatload of options here at 3.4. Ultimately, I went safe, going with the guy that has done it time and time again. A couple more third-round picks would be nice, though. Greedy, perhaps, but really, really nice.
RLLD 4,215 Posted June 7, 2011 I have Bowe and Wayne assessed at exactly the same spot, I will have to wait for training camp(hopefully) to decide which one I would take first.....

remote controller 143 Posted June 7, 2011 Also gave consideration to manning but with this format, a top qb is less paramount Take last years #1 Wr Roddy White. He scored 318, but in this format we have to back out his 115 catches leaving him with 203 total points. His avg points per game falls from 19.89 to 12.7. Qb's only get 4 points for passing TD's, but Qb's on high flying offenses are at a premium in this format in my opinion.

remote controller 143 Posted June 7, 2011 Yes but with no penalty for turnovers, I think it narrows the gap between the top tier and some other guys I agree, and an avg. of less than 5 points per game separates the top 10 Qb's last year. The same 5 points separates the top 18 Wr's. I have to hope to land a few of these 18 Wr's now to make it work, while it will be easy for the rest of you to land a top 10 Qb in the next few rounds. It depends which way you want to work the math it comes out about even, which brings it back to a safety issue. Who can you hopefully depend on for staedy production? remote controller 143 Posted June 7, 2011 Vincent Jackson was the guy I caved on and didn't take at 2.04. I liked him over Jennings and Fitz.
JScott 20 Posted June 7, 2011 3.06 - VJax Very happy to have him fall to me. In the SDC offense he's shown he has top 5 WR ability. He has the F-tag and has indicated he'll play in 2011 under it with no issue. So basically it's a contract year for VJax to show he's worth the big contract. Vikings4ever 550 Posted June 7, 2011 2.11 - DeSean Jackson Thought for sure I was going to get the last guy on my list (Blount), but I'm happy with Jackson. He can put up huge games, which is a bonus in the no hassle format. If Vick keeps his head out of his *** (and doesn't regress), this has the potential to be the best offense in the NFL. 3.02 - Peyton Manning After Blount, I think there's a real dearth in talent at the RB position this year. Makes having a true number 1 even more important, but if you can't get one of the top 14 or so, it's time to look elsewhere. Peyton is always a top QB, but I think he's an especially good pick this year with the lockout. Peyton AD DeSean I'll take that as the core of my team any day. If you give him the 2 games he missed back, he slides in around 12th to 13th. Would I like him on my squad right about now?........yep! I like the 3 player start. RLLD 4,215 Posted June 7, 2011 Vincent Jackson was the guy I caved on and didn't take at 2.04. I liked him over Jennings and Fitz. People are driving him up into the early second, but I am not buying it, not yet. I would not be shocked to see him look out of sorts for most of the season, with his QB movin on mentally.... Vjax make have simply screwed himself in the end....
WhiteWonder 2,732 Posted June 7, 2011 I can stomach djax in this format. Could never pay his pricetag in ppr. And I think vick plus the emergence of maclin will keep him from scoring double digits, which u need to be able to do in any format if you don't rack up tons of receptions So a little early for my taste but what do I know. Hello probably go off for 1300 and

RicemanX 20 Posted June 7, 2011 My wish list for my 3rd round pick was: Peyton Manning Wayne Fitz Austin Glad I got someone on the list. Happy with Austin. I'm thinking he'll be back to being more productive like he was in the beginning of the season with Romo back under center.

Couldn't disagree more. Check his stats to end last season, after all those games he sat out... he stepped right in and blew up. Despite being an @ss Rivers wants to win at all costs and VJax helps him do that more than anyone on that team (maybe besides Gates). He will not "move on" from his #1WR this season to be better prepared for 2012. That's just crazy talk. And I'm not sure why you think he screwed himself in the end. He will now being playing basically under 1 year contract. He's going to go off to get that big long term contract.
ICEMAN 44 Posted June 7, 2011 Miles Austin represented the last of a WR tier for me with a big drop-off (in my opinion) to the next tier, so I grabbed one of the few remaining viable starters at RB. I'm sure that Bradshaw will resign with the G-Men and produce some steady points for my team. ICEMAN

Jeepz 0 Posted June 7, 2011 Wow, so glad I grabbed Blount when I did (2.10) and very happy with Bowe, especially seeing the rest of my WR list fall the rest of round 3. I like the Bradshaw pick there, I agree with Iceman that he's one of the last viable starter RBs.

robb 81 Posted June 7, 2011 I was curious where B;ount and Bowe would fall, noe we know. Bradshaw was a "steal" in the mid-third, IMO. So, will Vick (if healthy) continue to keep D. Jackson's potential "at bay"? I am hoping for 2 of about 4 players to take at the bend, will see if I am so fortunate!

In all of the mocks I have done thus far this spring, Bradshaw has pretty much lived at the bottom of round 3, its not a big surprise to see him at 3.10; nor would I be shocked to find him lingering into round 4.... remote controller 143 Posted June 7, 2011 Went with Mike Williams from Tampa Bay. I love the new young combo. He was definitly a redzone factor catching 11 Td's. That 11 Td's ties him for 11th overall in Td production with only three wideouts catching more. (Bowe, Jennings, and Calvin) This is a young team with young talent growing together. He scored 5 points less a game than Roddy in a ppr format I'm tracking. When you remove the extra 51 catches Roddy had (51 points) from the equation, Roddy scored just over 2 more points a game. I like the fact that the Bucs might get the ball back quicker this year with a beefed up Defense.

I like the Williams pick here, it will be interesting to see if he creeps up or down in the later drafts in August; could be become a 1/2 round turn pick?, or drift a bit into round 3. I like him right where he is, or obviously in round 3. If he starts creeping up too high the price is not going to justify taking him.
RLLD 4,215 Posted June 7, 2011 I was hopeful that Bree's might drop a bit further to me at 3.11, but alas....Clash gobbled him up No matter, Brady was my backup pick and I was sure I could take either one. After obtaining solid talent at RB and WR in the first two rounds, I could see that the "elite" level QB's would soon be taken and knew I would have to spend on them soon or try to be satisfied with middle-tier QB's later. I could overspend on RB here, or even grab one of the many wonderful WR's; but I don't overspend, and IMHO the WR talent here is not markedly better than what I can get next round, or even beyond..... A starting lineup featuring these guys likely nets me what I am really looking for in this format.....touchdowns. QB Tom Brady RB Michael Turner WR Calvin Johnson
robb 81 Posted June 7, 2011 Greene may be a little early at 3.12, but he won't be around when I pick in the 5th round! The "Bell Cow" in Jetsland, hope so. I had other RBs I was considering, but none with the upside of Greene and with his O-Line, watch out in 2011.

If you covet Green then I think you were wise to take him here, he is currently being taken in the 4.05 - 4.12 range, and you were not likely to see him when you picked again. That being said there are perhaps 4 -5 backs that I would have taken ahead of him, but if you feel strongly about him for the coming year, you certainly got him where you needed to...
