robb 81 Posted June 9, 2011 Time for a QB, and with Roddy White "on board" as my #1 WR, I'll team him up with his rock thrower in Matty! I believe Ryan is the last of the true upper tier QBs, so very pleased to get him at the 6.01 turn. I would have had dogsh_t available if I had waited for 23 more picks! RLLD 4,208 Posted June 9, 2011 I am a Ryan fan, I think he will likely put up strong numbers this season (assuming we have one) I felt as though the RB's were at a breaking point, and the long wait until my next pick would leave me grasping at junk; but I can find solid talent at other positions later. So I took a chance here and went with a rookie in Daniel Thomas because I feel as though he has a strong potential to unseat the incumbents, has enough of a passing attack to keep things open, and enough of a defense to warrant some running. That’s understandable…just ask Antonio Gates just how tough injuries to the bottom of your feet can be. Williams is another running back who is always dinged up, but when he plays, he is supremely talented and able to provide big numbers. This injury is healed now and has no bearing on his ability to train for the upcoming season. The real question for him is where will he play this year? Denver is supposedly interested. Miami has put out feelers. Even Carolina has expressed interest in getting him back. If he were to end up in Miami, I think he would have a huge season. The other two places, or anywhere else that ends up being a timeshare, would significantly hinder his statistics. -------------------------------------------------------- It might hurt just a bit if he goes to Miami. JScott 20 Posted June 9, 2011 I guess I'm the only one thinking QBs are being reached for in this draft... I guess it depends on your tier structure and how close the latter QB tiers are to the top tiers. For me I see Rodgers/Brees/Brady/Manning in that top group with Vick/Rivers/Schaub/Romo next. Followed by Ryan(and a few others who haven't been picked yet) in the 3rd tier. I don't think there's much of a difference between each of these tiers but after the 3rd tier I think it drops off. Any of the QBs in tier 2 could end up in tier 1 but due to their past inconsistencies (injury or otherwise) they had to be ranked lower. Personally I think Schaub and Romo went right where expected. I thought Ryan was a little early but then again robb explained why he grabbed him then. So the only QB that I think was a reach was Vick but that's because I don't think he'll repeat last years numbers now that teams have seen they can affect him with pressure forcing him to his right. WhiteWonder 2,729 Posted June 9, 2011 Rice and Thomas were my next two. Good picks guys. Throws a little wrench in my next turn

JScott 20 Posted June 9, 2011 Rice and Law Firm were my short list for this round. Happy to get BJGE here. Good offense with a lot of weapons but he did get a good percentage of goalline/redzone carries (13 TDs) last year. NE did draft RBs but they are not going to trust rookies to pass protect for Brady so I see BJGE still in there a lot.

remote controller 143 Posted June 9, 2011 I wanted Boldin with my 6th round pick. He was a real dilema last year. He simply fell off the map mid season then struggled with his usually sure hands at the end. He rebounds this year in my opinion. I think, given sentiments here, I could have taken Boldin in the 5th, then still gotten Moreno in the 6th. I have Harvin over Rice. He's just so flexible in the way he's used. His biggest drawback and my only fear are his migrains. He and Rice on the field together, both at full speed and on the same page, with Harvin not a rookie and Rice not hurt, could be special. It's nice when you have ADP keeping it real. All of this aids whatever QB is behind center.

remote controller 143 Posted June 9, 2011 This is the point of the day where we've been losing it. We get 2 to 21/2 hours away from shut down time, then when shut down time hit's,we're screwed. We need to consider picking for anyone who is absent for around 2 hours during the draft period to keep this moving. We were flying!
robb 81 Posted June 9, 2011 Agreed. Maybe after 3 hours? Would anyone here object to us also keeping on after 5:00 pm CDT, so into the evening time? Watch less TV and more FF!

My point is, if you are on the clock for over 2 hours leading up to the 5:00 shut down, I don't think the shut down covers you, and a selection should be made. robb 81 Posted June 10, 2011 "Titans | Kenny Britt arrested Wednesday Thu Jun 9, 02:15 PM Tennessee Titans WR Kenny Britt was arrested in New Jersey Wednesday, June 8, and charged with two counts of resisting arrest. Britt was issued a summons and allegedly 'did purposely prevent or attempt to prevent a public servant from lawfully performing an official function by means of force or violence, specifically by refusing to open your hand when ordered to do so then pulling your hand away,' according to the complaint. Britt pushed away police officers and pulled his hand away when the officers tried to arrest him. So..................................who was the idiot who drafted this joker in the June Mock?? So..................................who was the idiot who drafted this joker in the June Mock?? this is exactly why i didn't take him where i took Holmes. Without these incidents, Britt would have been my choice because he has easy double digit TD potential even with a shiot or rookie QB. But the threat of suspension does loom and even if not, i didn't want to take the risk of him getting into another situation. i really wanted him at this turn as my #4 though. robb 81 Posted June 10, 2011 Dan: If you can, give me your logic on Know and why him versus any other Bear receiver. The Bear receivers along with Denver, Indy & JAC receivers pose a quandry for me so knowing your logic behind Knox would be helpful. Thanks, as I respect your opinion on things...football, at least! I will add that Knox is definitely the receiver to have in Chicago. He has the trust of Cutler in the key situations, and another years chemistry can only improve this connection. They might add a receiver with a different skill-set, and need to, but that won't hurt what Cutler and Knox have.
