Matthew's Berry's 0 Posted September 10, 2011 I see this like Grant/Starks ... Ole Man Ward gets the nod but Tate comes in with fresh legs and scores on an 18yd cutback ... mark ... it ... down!!!
msudavedawg 5 Posted September 10, 2011 I'm not, Ward is getting the start over Tate. Kubiak said this would be a hot hand situation, so if Houston's run-blocking is as good as we think it is and Indy's run defense is as bad on the road as it usually is, why wouldn't I take the first man up who is also going to be in the game on passing downs? Part of me is thinking I should start both in the one league I have them, but I can't justify sitting Felix or Hightower. FWIW, I see Ward going for 70 yards rushing, 1 TD and four catches for 30 yards. Tate - 80 yards rushing, 1 TD and one catch for five yards. In other news, Thomas Jones will get the starting nod over Jamaal Charles in KC.
Kent 228 Posted September 11, 2011 Per RotoWorld's Friday Game Breakdown: Should Foster miss the game, Ben Tate will be a must-start RB2 in fantasy leagues.... Hmmm.
The Football Guru 222 Posted September 11, 2011 In other news, Thomas Jones will get the starting nod over Jamaal Charles in KC. "Hot hand" is different than deferring to a veteran RB and/or team leader. And in KC, Haley is monitoring JC's workload, Kubiak could care less if Ward/Tate each get 25 carries/game over the next two weeks because they'll be used much less upon Foster's return. If Kubiak was half as fascinated with Tate as most fantasy owners are, he'd already be No. 2. Ward isn't Jones either, especially since Ward averaged 6.2 YPC last season. I could easily be wrong about Ward over Tate this week, but in a hot hand situation vs. an overmatched defense, I'll take the starter who is the more trusted option in the passing game. Now if Steve Slaton comes in and takes all the third-down work, then I should have played Tate since he is the better runner.
Dr Hook 6 Posted September 11, 2011 Pay no attention to the official depth chart. Tate is the guy to have on your bench, not Ward. But I wouldn't start either one this weekend, unless we hear definitively that Foster is out. And even then it will be a time share. What he said
Bishop82 61 Posted September 11, 2011 Tate over AJ Green at flex.
Kent 228 Posted September 11, 2011 ESPN reporting that Kubiak said Foster is unlikely to play. He'll be a gametime decision, but I'm banking on him being out.
Kent 228 Posted September 11, 2011 Screw it. Benching Knowshon for Tate. Knowshon having the threat of a timeshare and losing goal line to McGahee makes the decision easier. DIE WARD! FUMBLE ON THE FIRST PLAY!
SameSongNDance 0 Posted September 11, 2011 Screw it. Benching Knowshon for Tate. Knowshon having the threat of a timeshare and losing goal line to McGahee makes the decision easier. DIE WARD! FUMBLE ON THE FIRST PLAY! You are going to regret this once you see Knowshon running over a porous OAK run D and Slaton getting carries in that carousel of a backfield. Fun stuff. Kent 228 Posted September 11, 2011 You are going to regret this once you see Knowshon running over a porous OAK run D and Slaton getting carries in that carousel of a backfield. Fun stuff. I know. But I trust my eyes and not the coach. Tate looks so much better than Knowshon has ever looked. Knowshon is slow and now also in a time share. If you can't separate yourself from McGahee to avoid a time share, that doesn't inspire me with much confidence.
Borat33 17 Posted September 11, 2011 F it. Starting him over Felix.
Axe Elf 0 Posted September 11, 2011 Knowshon having the threat of a timeshare and losing goal line to McGahee makes the decision easier. And Tate having the guarantee of a timeshare and losing goal line to everyone inspires confidence?

Bearnut 0 Posted September 11, 2011 After much debate I have decided to go with Ryan Mathews over Tate. I don't know what to expect in either situation, but I am just going to go with the highest draft pick at each position for this week.
IMMensaMind 462 Posted September 11, 2011 AAAAUUUUUGGGGGHHHHHHH! I have Tate in two leagues, and my finger has hovered over the 'active' tab for 30 minutes now. Felix has looked very good in the pre-season, but it's the Jets fer crissakes. Who would start Tate over: Felix in a .5 PPR Distance/Performance league? Bush in the FLEX position a .5 PRR Distance/Performance league? BGJE in the FLEX position a .5 PRR Distance/Performance league? Wayne in the FLEX position a .5 PRR Distance/Performance league? Axe Elf 0 Posted September 11, 2011 Ass Elf says to bench Jimmie Graham and Ben Tate - oops! ASSuming you're referring to me, show me even one single post where I EVER said to bench Jimmy Graham. OOPS! I also never stated to bench Ben Tate outright, but in most of the "Should I start Tate or my stud first round draft pick," I advised against the Tate hoopla--still the best decision, regardless of a random Tate TD. I'm sure I'll get a few predictions wrong along the way, but at least stick to heckling me for the ones I have axually MADE.
