krusin 0 Posted November 3, 2011 Per Rotoworld: Ahmad Bradshaw has a cracked bone in his foot and is out indefinitely, a source tells the Newark Star-Ledger. It was originally believed that Bradshaw suffered no structural damage, but that was apparently an incorrect diagnosis. Two Giants beat reporters now say Bradshaw will be out "at least several" weeks and surgery is being considered. It's an aggravation of the same issues that have plagued Bradshaw in the past and resulted in screws being inserted in his feet. Brandon Jacobs will carry the load going forward, with Danny Ware serving as his backup. We're expecting the Giants to officially update Bradshaw's status later this afternoon. Holy crap - Brenda Jacobs chance to shine!
dreen626 17 Posted November 3, 2011 This would happen after i dropped Brandon Jacobs? WTF
Cubs07 0 Posted November 3, 2011 I hope it's Jacobs given the chance he can be decent. Or at least give him the red-zone carries. Any homers with info???

dreen626 17 Posted November 3, 2011 Traded Jacobs two weeks ago, damn. Giants will go pass heavy. Nicks needs to play this week.
PATSSOX 22 Posted November 3, 2011 I just went and plucked Ware off waiver in 4 leagues Here's some good info from the Newark Star-Ledger: It's unclear at this point how long Bradshaw will be sidelined, though it's obvious the Giants are headed to New England with Brandon Jacobs set to carry the load. Jacobs has struggled this season and gained only 10 yards on four carries against Miami but vowed earlier this week to have a changed attitude that will result in his "scoring these touchdowns" moving forward. Behind Jacobs on the depth chart are veteran D.J. Ware (45 yards on 14 carries this season) and rookie Da'Rel Scott, who doesn't have a carry in the regular season after rushing for 213 yards and two touchdowns on 14 attempts in the preseason. Against the Patriots' backups in the final preseason game, Scott ran for 114 yards and a touchdown (as well as a 65-yard touchdown on a fake punt). cyclone24 1,913 Posted November 3, 2011 FML....dumped Jacobs two weeks ago...and naturally the guy im playing this week has him and has major injury issues..so now ill get to watch him beat me. Awesome. Oh and i have Mcgahee.....who is out.
krusin 0 Posted November 3, 2011 I have Bradshaw, but I got lucky and grabbed Jacobs 3 days ago when a guy dumped him... It will be interesting to see if Jacob's knee holds up... I wish I knew how long Bradshaw will be out (It doesn't sound good) if extended time, I would dump his arse to grab Ware or Scott...
Cubs07 0 Posted November 3, 2011 I like this "New York has had success when Jacobs starts and runs often, posting an 11-1 record when he's in the starting lineup and has at least 21 carries."

Matt Mueller 146 Posted November 3, 2011 I just traded for Cruz. Is them going more pass heavy vs them maybe not being quite as productive offensively bascially a wash? Cmon Cruz big game this week vs the Pats!
Filthy Fernadez 2,696 Posted November 3, 2011 Per CBS Sports: But New York has had success when Jacobs starts and runs often, posting an 11-1 record when he's in the starting lineup and has at least 21 carries. The Jacobs owner in my league dropped him Tuesday too. Damn these bye week blues (especially in a 13 roster spot league). Care to guess who the new Jacobs owner is? The Giants remaining schedule 'on paper' looks kind of tough though.

Cmon Cruz big game this week vs the Pats! I think he's in line for a big week with Nicks missing his 2nd day in a row of practice. I also suspect they will be playing from behind most of the day. Stewburtx8 67 Posted November 3, 2011 Adam Schefter Just Tweeted this Person familar with Giants RB Ahmad Bradshaw's injury texted this: "Not serious injury - should play Sunday. No surgery (needed)." 17 minutes ago Rotoworld changing their stance as well... A "person familiar" with Ahmad Bradshaw (foot) tells ESPN's Adam Schefter Bradshaw's injury is "not serious" and he "should play Sunday." NFL Network's Jason La Canfora is seconding the report. The news directly contradicts what was coming out of Giants park this morning, but coach Tom Coughlin is expected to update the situation after practice. Schefter rarely misses, so for now consider the situation fluid. If Bradshaw does play against the Patriots, it would almost certainly be in a limited capacity. krusin 0 Posted November 3, 2011 Glad to hear it does not sound serious... This thing is still playing out though... Not sure what to believe. They will most likely play it safe and sit him this weekend, so Jacobs could have a big week trying to prove something.

DanXIII 8 Posted November 3, 2011 Total BS. I just traded for Jacobs. Thanks for nothing, Rotoworld. When I read words like "out indefinitely" and "may not play at all again this season" I assume that he's toast. Now I've dumped Bradshaw for Jacobs. Rotoworld may very well cost me lots of $ this year. The upside is that this happened in my ESPN.com league where you can put in a waiver claim for your own (former) players, unlike Yahoo which makes you wait until they clear before adding. The downside is that I'm 8 of 12 on the waiver list. This really sucks.
Stewburtx8 67 Posted November 3, 2011 This is the TMZ world of journalism we live in. Be the first to report it. If you get information from what you believe to be one at least somewhat credible source, you put it out there. No need to confirm it with another source. If you are right, you look good because everyone got the information from you first. If you are wrong, you just say the source must of been mistaken, you cite new sources, and "update" your story. Rotoworld does this on a daily basis if you check the site frequently enough. I try not to take everything as fact right away. But if you don't rush right to your waiver wire to grab Jacobs, someone else will. It's a fine line sometimes, especially when you have some coaches sending out smoke signals and giving incomplete information on a consistent basis.

cyclone24 1,913 Posted November 3, 2011 I dont feel bad for anyone dumb enough to jump the gun and dumped Bradshaw....especially when those same sites were saying he might just be out a few weeks and to stash him.
Filthy Fernadez 2,696 Posted November 3, 2011 Dropping a second defense or a WR3/4 for Jacobs is being prudent. Dropping Bradshaw within hours of a 'report' is hitting the panic button with a focking sledge hammer.
DanXIII 8 Posted November 3, 2011 I dont feel bad for anyone dumb enough to jump the gun and dumped Bradshaw....especially when those same sites were saying he might just be out a few weeks and to stash him. Meh, I guess I could have dumped one of my WRs (Manningham, Jennings, or Edwards). I didn't want to cut Blount. My only other RB on that team is Ray Rice. Plus every source I read said "out indefinitely" and was using phrases like "...if he plays at all again this year." Sounded like they were going to amputate. mattcoz 3 Posted November 3, 2011 I just received a trade offer of Brady and Bradshaw for Freeman and Fred Jackson, if he's really not badly injured I should jump all over this. Giants Fan 85 Posted November 3, 2011 From Giants.com: This year, Jacobs missed two games with a knee injury before returning in last week’s victory over Miami. He has 42 carries for 126 yards and two touchdowns and is anxious for more touches. That could change against the Patriots. “What would be better than the opportunity that he’s going to get now?” offensive coordinator Kevin Gilbride said. “He’s been clamoring for a chance. The chance is here. This is an opportunity. You want to show what you can do. I’m looking forward to seeing the way he plays. I think he’s going to respond very well. I’m excited about seeing him play.” Almost as excited as Jacobs is to get more work. “Looks like I will get my opportunity to play more,” said Jacobs, who is Bradshaw’s closest friend on the team. “I just want to go out there to help the team, as much as I can. Go out and perform to the best of my ability. If the opportunity is given to me, I’ll take advantage of it.” Jacobs said he can be productive with a heavier workload. “I think that’s what we’ll need to do for all aspects of our game to work as an offense,” Jacobs said. “You run the ball well, you throw the ball well. You throw the ball well, you run the ball well. So that’s my goal is to be able to provide a part of our game to help us win.” Coughlin said Jacobs has worked hard this week in practice and is capable of being an every-down back. “If we need him in that capacity, he can be that,” Coughlin said.
