So are you talking about the guy that broke the story to a Puerto Rican talk show about Obama being ghey and killing all his ex-lovers? He said he only did coke and blew him 2 times. The one he had an affair with for years was assassinated by the Obama campaign in 2007. No interview for him. Obama also gave one of them AIDS so they couldn't talk. Also ded. MDC 8,164 Posted January 20, 2012 John King is a liberal douche, obviously wants to focus the attention on the smokescreens... He embarrassed himself and got absolutely clowned for it... Newt's response was brilliant in that it hit EXACTLY the notes that an audience of South Carolina Republicans wants to hear, but I've got to say - the man mostly comes off like a piggish dooshbag and his appeal among anyone but hardline GOPers is non-existent. Personally I don't care at all about whatever affairs or relationships Newt has except that it reveals his mammoth hypocrisy and sense of entitlement, i.e. his personal history would be a non-issue in my mind if he didn't lead the charge against Clinton and still lecture others on the "seanctity of marriage" RE: same sex couples. At that point I conclude the man is a human turd.
parrot 790 Posted January 20, 2012 How could any of the Gingrich's friends prove the story is false? Presumably this was a conversation that took place between Newt and his wife. It's he said/she said. I think Newt is blowing smoke.

He condemns gays/clinton on the sanctity of marriage while abusing it himself. He may be a great debater, but the facts will avalanche over his ability to orate his way out of it. That said, Newt was dead on that a presidential debate shouldn't begin on a note like that. Very low class way of doing it.

Newt: The destructive, vicious, negative nature of much of the news media, makes it harder to govern this country, harder to attract decent people to run for public office and I appalled that you would begin a presidential debate with a topic like that. Yeah, Newt, cause you never contributed to the negative nature of media at all.

I don't remember the liberal media giving Clinton a free pass on his wanderings. I think Jon Edwards got his share of a shiit show based on his indiscretions. The bottom line is, tabloid style trash gets eyeballs on the TV. For some reason that's what people in this country want to see. Just like Britney Spears shaving her head was all over the news channels being reported as "news". And there probably were a fair number of people that tuned into the debate last night to see how Newt would respond to his wife's interview. I think it's bullshiit they opened the debate with that question. Personally I could give a shiit where someone decides to put their peemus and think it has absolutely no bearing on their ability to run the country. If they do decide to make bad decisions with their peemus, they may want to tone down the family values stuff though, because it makes them look like a hypocrite. But this is not the liberal elite media attacking republicans. It's the country we live in and tabloid trash gets ratings.

KSB2424 3,174 Posted January 20, 2012 I think Jon Edwards got his share of a shiit show based on his indiscretions. This brings up a good point. The Main Stream Media (i.e. ABC) didn't even break that story. That never would have hit the light of day if it wasn't for the National 'freaking' Enquirer. The reason? Becasue the MSM wasn't looking. They were forced to cover that story once it broke. Good point Nikki.

That said, Newt was dead on that a presidential debate shouldn't begin on a note like that. Very low class way of doing it. I think what really makes Newt unelectable is the fact that he only speaks to a very hardline segment of Republicans and he'll look extremely out of touch (i.e. old and fat) on a stage with Obummer. I'm not saying the president or any of the contenders aren't hardline partisans, but Newt has a sort of nastiness that the fringe eats up but I suspect it will be really off-putting to moderates and independents. He can't help his age or personal appearance and it has nothing to do with Obummer but the contrast will be pretty obvious and it's going to hurt. I've read here and elsewhere Republicans saying they can't wait until Newt schools Obummer in a debate but again, I think to most Americans he's just going to come off as angry and hyperpartisan, not a brilliant intellect. I sort of agree that with all the issues out there it really shouldn't be the first question in a debate, but it's a viable question and Newt's response was totally rehearsed - you can't go wrong in a GOP debate by lashing out @ the media. That said for the forum it was totally brilliant on his part and even though I don't like the guy I did admire his smarts. He knows that crowd wants red meat and he gave it to them. If Newt was already out of the race at this point I seriously doubt anyone would care where he dipped his wick. Also a notable difference is that nobody really tried to defend scumbag Edwards like they're defending/cheering scumbag Newt itt.

The economy is trending in his direction and all of the GOP candidates are seriously flawed. Romney likely has the best chance at winning but he's mostly a John Kerry type, no principles and the kind of candidate his own party doesn't really like. He'll run a competitive campaign but in the end I really don't believe he's going to be able to win anywhere outside of typical Republican strongholds and maybe Florida if he goes with Rubio as VP. In other words better than McCain in 2008 but still decisively Obummer. The GOP would IMO really be doing itself a favor by nominating Ron Paul. He can't win but he can attract a younger and more diverse audience to the party and position them better for 2016. Anyways, should be interesting.

nikki2200 4 Posted January 20, 2012 Can Rubio be a VP? being that he can't be president because he wasn't born here? How does that work? I think so because there's a lot of talk about him being the VP nominee. But that does bring up a good point since the President has to be a natural born citizen. And then if Romney dies, what happens? Maybe goes to the Speaker of the House? I think it's a dumb rule that should probably be changed anyway. I understand it's original purpose though. Good point Nikki. Forced? Forced by whom? So basically even though the MSM portrayed Edwards as a scumbag who was cheating on his dying wife, and continued to report on it for weeks and weeks, they are still biased because they didn't actually find the story themselves? mmmmmkay. I have no idea how the NE found the story. They typically use paparazzi tactics to dig up dirt that is not used by the MSM. But in the end, the result was the same. It's not like Newt's indiscretions were a secret. And his ex was willing to do an interview with a major news source. Should they have not taken that opportunity? Scandals put eyeballs on TVs. Which in turn puts money in the pockets of the corporations getting the eyeballs. Companies making money is a good thing, right? I'm just not of the opinion there is some big liberal conspiracy out there. I am of the opinion that the masses in our country care too much about this shiit and it's kind of sad. If no one was watching, there would be no demand for digging into the personal lives of public figures and sensationalizing their personal mistakes. But the people have spoken.
