WhiteWonder 2,735 Posted March 3, 2013 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1yaK6SAUwu0&sns=em im sorry. im not saying its a bad cart, it looks very nice, but that video is hilarious and only reinforces my idea that the simplest 2 wheel cart is, at the very least, just as good. sure, the guy opens it in seconds. but then we get the full explanation of the several steps you have to follow... with descriptions like "to avoid injury" and "if it doesn't, don't worry" a bare bones 2 wheel bag boy cart consists of 1. lift the lock on the middle of the cart, 2. fold closed... if you want to remove the wheels, you can but if not its still pretty slim. DankNuggs 305 Posted March 4, 2013 Hit four 320 yard drives today with my new TM Burner 2.0 driver. It's the lightest driver I've ever hit but it works. Crazy long. Had three of the approach shots inside of 150 playing from the backs. Birdie par Birdie. Easiest club I have ever hit. The superfast? Looks the same as the RBZ but with no adjustability. Friend has it and really likes it
cbfalcon 825 Posted March 4, 2013 Ugh. Blow up round today in 20 mph winds at Lost Creek. I'm stuck in no mans land of being in the middle of a swing change, but not having enough time to practice. So it's a slow go. My irons are pretty solid right now. I'm striking the ball well enough to play to my former 10 handicap of a couple years ago I think. And my short game is rounding into form. I'm bringing the bump and run back into my repertoire, and it's solidifying some things. As for the mofo big stick... I did manage to hit 2 fairways today. Yes, 2. Fuccking 2. My miss with the driver was a pull hook. Killed me. Then when I tried to fix it, I shanked 2 drives into the woods. I didn't know you could shank a driver, but sure enough I seemingly found a way. I ended the day with a nice 92. Granted, the wind was mighty, and I likely gave away 3-5 strokes around the greens simply because I half asssed it concentration wise as the round got away from me. Still, any round in the 90's feels like a catastrophe. On the positive side of things, I went 50-42, thus I got better. And the front side had two quads. So you could make the argument that I was two holes away from a pretty solid day. I'm pretty sure I'm the best "if only" golfer on this message board. I can "if I had only done this" my score into the mid 70's with ease. I'm a scratch if only player.

And a good 3 wheeled cart >>>> 2 wheel pull. The video is somewhat ridiculous ill give you that. Looks complicated, but retardo easy. Sounds stupid to be impressed with the engineering of a golf cart, but its impressive the thing is, youd have to literally be retarded to only be able to pull a 2 wheel cart. one of the things i laughed at most when "push carts" were hitting the scene years back. One of their big selling points was "hey you can still pull it if you want!" as if to claim they served two functions while a 2 wheeler could only be pulled anyhow, if i ever purchased a 3 wheel cart (actually i dont own any cart) this looks like probably the one I would get. Still, it is horribly bulky, even when folded up to a suitcase sized rectangle. And it still seem like too many steps to me. I know, I know its like 2 minutes of my time i just have to laugh when the video is all "undo this hinge, pull this out, fold this to the left, pop this into place, lock this" etc etc. but again, amongst a cadt style i dislike, it is rather nice. The superfast? Looks the same as the RBZ but with no adjustability. Friend has it and really likes it superfast 2.0 has a bit more of an elongated head. not as bad as the original superfast but more so than the Rocketballz. I play the RBZ and my father actually plays the superfast 2.0 so i've been able to hit both a lot.

Man I hate hitting balls OB. The greens were solid. Very fast and very smooth which I love. At times their greens aren't receptive enough, but that wasn't much of a problem yesterday. That said, there was no holding the greens downwind yesterday. The fairways were in bad shape, but I can get around that as long as the greens are solid. I blew up on #6. I'm sure you know the hole. Elevated somewhat blind tee shot over the woods. If you hit a straight shot, you run right through into the backyards. Thus the play with a long club is a fade. And if you can't do that, you'd best be served just popping an iron over the woods and into the fairway.....Well I hit 2 drivers and hugged the right side too closely. Lost my tee shot and lost my provisional. Took an 8. I lost 6 balls I think. That's the most I've lost in a couple years.

If I'm off to a good start I will play a 3 or 4 hybrid off the tee - if I'm already pissed I'll just go with driver. For some reason I always find a way to fock up 10 as well, not sure why. cbfalcon 825 Posted March 4, 2013 For some reason I always find a way to fock up 10 as well, not sure why. I managed a bogey yesterday, but I think I tripled it last time I played it. It's a hole that always seems extremely exposed to the wind, and has a somewhat narrow rock hard fairway that is slightly crowned I think. Miss the fairway left and you have to punch out, miss it right and you are often taking a drop. so yeah, it doesn't look that tough, but it plays tough for me as well. Of course Winter is basically our Fall here so I am not sure that will still be the case come Summer. A couple years back I had a weekly money game going against 2 guys that always walked. This was during July and August. They were really fit dudes, but I knew. Just hang tight and they would slowly fall apart about 3 hours in. Texas heat always wins. Of course, it helped that I was the organizer and I'd purposely choose tougher walking courses.

It really isn't that hard. The 3 wheel ones just fold out as well. Only difference is maybe taking the wheel off to fit it better into your vehicle. I didn't watch the video, but I bought my grampa one a few years ago and it really is just as simple as the 2 wheel. His is a Sun Mountain and you just press something and unfold like a 2 wheeler. There really is NO other step. I agree though, for a younger man who wants to push/pull a 2 wheel cart if fine. But the 3 wheelers are easier to walk with no doubt. I am fairly young. I carry my bag on colder days or mornings. I ride a cart on weekends, hot days, or drunken rounds. If you have a average to small sized car you may have to remove the 3rd wheel. But other than that, SUV, Van, Truck, Large car, you won't need too.

Sun Mountains get great reviews as well, I didn't like the bag closure system on it, seems like it wouldn't hold my stand bag well... the clicgear is designed so the stand part of the bag doesn't allow the bag to rotate and it has bungee cord straps that hold everything tight... None of the new 3 wheelers make you remove any wheels... Actually the new sun mountains i've seen are 4 wheels and are slightly larger when compacted. I think they probably work best with Sun Mountain bags which are also very nice, but very expensive. I didn't want to buy a new bag.

BunnysBastatrds 2,440 Posted March 7, 2013 What do you guys think about playing short easy courses? A friend of mine just started playing again last year and enjoys not having to hit driver on every hole. The greens are easy to read and there's not a lot of trouble on the course. It's helped my iron play and short game but I'm getting tired of playing it.

It gets redundant playing driver-wedge over and over again... One of the courses i play alot on cape cod is like this. Ideally you want to be forced to use your whole bag. Courses like this i try to minimize half or 3/4 wedge shots, i'll try to pick a club off the tee that will leave me a full stroke from the hole... I hit my PW (48 degrees) about 125, I hit my 52 gap about 100-105, and the 56 about 90-95. I really need a 5w or a good 3H... Driver is 275, 3w is 245, 3i 210. Drop the gap wedge and have a 95yd-125 gap, or have a 210yd-245 gap on the long end. I can choke down on a PW easier than easing up on the 3w...

I've been hitting 3-Wood or 4-Wood off all holes under 400 yards. I hit my wedges pretty much the same distance as yours. I've gotten good at hitting full wedges but long irons are giving me problems. Can't hit a good 4-Iron with any consistency playing that course all the time. I hit a Taylor Made V-Steel (16 Degree) 4-Wood. It's my favorite club in the bag. I've had it for ten years and hate the thought of having to replace it. BunnysBastatrds 2,440 Posted March 7, 2013 Would be okay to practice on, but would not want to make this kind of course my regular track. The golf scene in New Orleans has gone downhill in the last decade or so. The courses don't compete for your money so they overcharge everybody. This course is cheaper than most so the average/hackers like playing it.

listen2me 23 1,873 Posted March 9, 2013 How long of a course do you guys play on the regular. Home course is 6200. Love the course, it has a lot of character, easy to walk because the holes don't have huge gaps between them...a little hilly though. But not a lot of tees. Mens, senior, women. Not a ton of room to make new tee boxes or extend many holes. Fairly short for players who can hit it well. Most of the par 4s are under 400, only 2 that are not, another that is 395. Decently long par 3s, all 160 to 215. Thing is we have smaller greens, makes iron play much harder even when you have a PW or 9 iron in your hand. Courses in area that I play are all 6100 to 6500 from the mens.
