gcmmidwest 149 Posted September 11, 2012 I'm sure the Saints losing to washington isn't sitting well with the owners, fans & players ..,with that said they need to make some adjustments & i think they trade Chris Ivory he's better than alot of starting backs in the nfl ..,do you think he's worth grabbing ??? Matt Mueller 146 Posted September 11, 2012 IDK but as a Sproles owner I'm concerned. Not a good week 1 for the Saints.
DrG 102 Posted September 11, 2012 As a Sproles owner you may wind up blessed with lots of passing downs
Matt Mueller 146 Posted September 11, 2012 As a Sproles owner you may wind up blessed with lots of passing downs Yeah I do think that will be the case. Wasn't feeling to good when he had something like 2 catches for 7 yards in the second half though. I like Sproles, in PPR or .5 leagues, but I don't think he can repeat last years season. DrG 102 Posted September 11, 2012 Maybe not but he might come close, especially in return leagues plus I don't think both Pierre and Ingram stay healthy all year
Frozenbeernuts 2,114 Posted September 11, 2012 They really need to trade Ivory. The guy is good. He is quick and gets tough yards when you need them. The Saints may be a little preoccupied at the moment though and seem to like to hold onto their RB. Besides what are they really going to get of value for Ivory? And where could Ivory go to be very relevant? Maybe the next back for STL. I think that would be a good fit. Pead is overrated imo. Carolina could always use another... The Packers? Cut Benson and use Ivory? I think that could be another good fit. I know! Tennessee could finally get a real RB and cut that overpaid paper weight Chris Johnson. SaintsInDome2006 378 Posted September 13, 2012 The Saints.... ARE NOT trading Ivory. The Saints also lost by 8 to the Packers on opening night last year too and they finished 13-3. The biggest adjustments have come at CB, where they lost Porter to Denver (great game vs the Steelers), and they had to start a 6th round pick Corey White because Jabari Greer was hurt in warmups, and at WR where the Saints lost Meachem, Henderson got hurt, they picked up Greg Camarillo (!) and are looking to Joe Morgan as the no. 3 WR. Morgan is a name to watch out for, but he had a horrendous game vs the Skins and was a major contributor to the loss due to drops.
JT 137 Posted September 13, 2012 The Saints are a bad defense that got worse in the off season. They also lost Meachem and he's not being replaced by the likes of the guys they're trotting out there now. Add in their internal distractions and this has all the marks of a team facing a big slide. Brees would have to match or exceed last season, which simply isn't a realistic expectation, for them to finish close to last year's record.

Runningriot1966 6 Posted September 14, 2012 I agree, New Orleans could finish last or 3rd in their own division this year. I think fantasy wise Brees and Sproles and Graham will be good anyway. The writing is on the wall with all of the team problems this year, an ageing WR corp, average RBs, and a awful defense. Brees isnt getting any younger, Colston is a injury waiting to happen. Moore and the other guy doesnt impress all that much. Im thinking they will miss playoffs for sure, Atlanta looks awesome, Tampa is much improved, and Carolina is a up and coming team. I can see Brees finishing the season as the highest fantasy point producer. He has no choice.
SexyRexy 60 Posted September 14, 2012 There is absolutely no need to be concerned about the Saints or overreact to anything we saw week 1. Don't grab Ivory yet I don't believe him to be worth a roster spot at this point. No concern over Brees and Sproles or any other Saint for that matter. It's only 1 week. They got outplayed and Brees + Sproles still managed to put up respectable numbers, its as simple as that.
Fantasy Noob 10 Posted September 14, 2012 I think their might be a slight disconnect here. In terms of making the playoffs and being competitive they are in a lot of trouble, their defense is horrid. In Fantasy Football, that offense is straight money as long as Brees is back there and especially considering how bad their defense is. The only worry is will the pressure of always playing catchup or no lead being safe somehow saboutage the offense? I would take the chance on Brees, Graham, Sproles, Colston, Moore pretty much in that order.
Jarvis Basnight 119 Posted September 14, 2012 My question about the Saints this year.......how good will the body be all season with it's head chopped off?
