I just looked it up. I'm not 95 years old so I wasn't alive when this happened so it's name is not something I readily recognize. Now that I've looked it up I am even more confused as to why I've seen you post "MK-Ultra" as an entire post about 50 times in the past week.

You are a focking loony toon.

MK-Ultra is alive and well today. Drugs have been replaced with TV, movies, the News media, etc. You aren't old enough to remember when TV reflected American Society but today American Society reflects TV.

Imma go out on a limb here and venture to guess that they are not the only companies that are currently expanding their manufacturing presence in China to provide products to the Chinese market. It's kind of a whacky concept, but I'm thinking it may be happening with other companies too.

Dear god.....

As for the bolded, that's a brilliant idea. Unfortunately none of our elected officials seem to see this as something that they would like to even discuss so they stick to important things like gay marriage instead.

So let me get the hippie logic straight... Bain is evil because companies expanded opportunistic job overseas. GM is not evil because they expanded opportunistic jobs overseas.

Yes, this does seem like QUITE a wacky concept.

Here’s what Romney said last Thursday in Ohio: “I saw a story today that one of the great manufacturers in this state, Jeep, now owned by the Italians, is thinking of moving all production to China. I will fight for every good job in America, I’m going to fight to make sure trade is fair.”

Completely and totally incorrect.

i would bet a sizable amount of money that they've investigated the impact of moving operations to all sorts of various areas, overseas included... So while misleading, its very likely not incorrect...

In respect to you having no issue with GM reallocating jobs overseas because others do it... Its funny to see the common theme of repubs and dems being held to completely different and hypocritical standards... With the dems wanting their cake and to eat it too...

Its a pretty easy game when held to no accountability, and the solution to everything is simply print money and give it out through their network of scammers and manipulators.... Its really not hard to be democratic... You get to live in fantasyland. If only republicans ditched the religious right's social platform. Amazing the country is basically being hamstrung because of it, and being forced to elect incompetant, short sighted leadership.

I can agree with being pissed at the republican social stance because it really makes little sense.

If anything.... wasn't the Romney ad the thing that was hypocritical? He tries to justify his practices at Bain and then puts out ads that somehow making Jeeps for China is a bad thing, where both you and I know that that is actually a very wise business move and any company not attempting to expand their presence into the Chinese market isn't going to fare so well over the next decade.

What in the fock does that have to do with me?

I worked in consulting for 15+ years and many of the projects I worked on involved closing plants in the US to relocate to a more cost effective location. So I suppose I'm just as bad as Romney on that front and really have no room to criticize. And... ummm.... I never have.

I don't like it. I think it's killing our economy. I would be highly in favor of import tariffs and re-evaluating our "free trade" with China to make it more favorable for companies to keep their manufacturing domestic. You can't really fault companies for moving to much much more cost effective locations for manufacturing if the only reason to stay here is some form of American pride. But whatever. That's not what is being discussed here.

Why does it seem like I constantly read your responses to me and I'm like "Who is he talking to? I never said that."

Dear God what? What does the fact that other manufacturers are also locating plants in China have to do with the facts that: 1) This is essentially outsourcing and 2) that those manufacturers locating plants in China are doing so to avoid tariffs (duties) while the US has none on Chinese goods. You made the point in your post above:

"um guess what there is a little thing called currency conversion and another little thing called oppressive Chinese import duties which if they decided to participate in the little thing called exporting and made the jeeps in the US and sell them to China the cost would be extravagant in the current Chinese market for anyone in China to be able to afford to buy the jeeps therefore rendering the whole endeavor fruitless.

Number of the day

$189,750

That's how much Chrysler's Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 sells for in China. The price, inflated by import duties, is more than three times the U.S. cost of $54,470. While there's surging demand for SUVs in China, three decades of changing ownership at Jeep have left it without any local production. Jeep sales in the country rose 63 percent last year to 19,013 vehicles - less than three days' worth of GM's sales in China.

Classic MK-Ultra

Proud of my ignorance that in the 50s and 60s the CIA conducted secret experiments using LSD to attempt to develop mind control tactics and truth serums to be used on communist prisoners and potentially even communist leaders? No. I'm aware that happened. I suppose it's just not something I think about on a daily basis so seeing MK-Ultra posted doesn't click as to what you are referring to. So I guess I will concede my ignorance that you were not referring to beer.

When you say "Classic MK-Ultra" are you suggesting that the CIA is controlling my brain? Like they have abducted me and fed me LSD and altered my way of thinking and I'm not even aware that this happened? Did the CIA do this to you? Were you one of the original test subjects? God so many questions. Where's Little Rusty when you need him?

Your post seemed to imply that you weren't aware that the reason companies open plants to make products in China is to avoid import tariffs. It's pretty common knowledge. I'm bored talking about this now anyway. I'm all intrigued by LSD-induced mind control.

Comparing your stance to the generic stance... Your stance tends to be more reasonable. I don't disagree with it, just think its funny.

Bain didn't move jobs overseas because they are evil, they did it because it makes utter practical sense based on the business constraints that they face... Its like complaining about gravity, things tend to flow down the path of least resistance. Its comical to me that one side sees this as evil and the other as logical... Thats because one side operates predominantly on emotion, and the other based on logic and math (from a fiscal perspective)

A classic among the tinfoil hat set, used to discount the opinions of everybody else, while somehow simultaneously suggesting that they, themselves, purely by virtue of dropping the term into conversation, are somehow above the brainwash.

How you can tell a loony from a genuine student of propaganda: they will do socially retarded things like collect Social Security while at the same time espousing conservative politics that wants nothing better than to have social parasites exterminated. Anyone who actually understood the project wouldn't be dropping it into every conceivable conversation, since such meme-generation is pretty classically push-button robotic lulz.

Its more a product of the dichotomy of morality versus the human nature of helping yourself.

What is the 'right' amount of entitlements and social safety nets? Its a rhetorical question, if you are democrat the answer is simply more, and when challenged simply compartmentalize the issue through anecodotes that pull emotional strings... If you are conservative you understand some semblance of a concept of being able to give only what you have... There is a morality of living within your means, as living above it unfairly puts the burden on others.
