I cannot change the waiver system now. It says: "This tool will not be available until the original Post-Draft waiver dates have been completed."

 

 

 

All current free agents are listed as waivers until Sept 3. I would imagine that much like a normal week, an owner can put in a waiver claim on a player, and those will be processed during the morning hours of Tuesday Sept 3. All players not claimed via a waiver claim would then be able to be picked up as a FA. That would give Gary and I a chance to fill out our rosters.

 

Im not sure if heavyset and drobeski are saying there shouldnt be any player acquisitions before week 1, or if they are agreeing with Voltaire that it should be FCFS.

 

I dont remember it being FCFS last season,but i could be wrong.

 

I suspect by the time we come to a consensus on this it will be Tuesday and it will be a moot point. Somebody make a note somewhere and we can try to address it for next season this offseason.

we had a draft that allowed you to take anyone available and you selected players you dont want, 5 minutes after selecting them.

 

#1, why did you draft them?

#2, when you did draft them, I , nor could the 10 other owners select them, but now you get a chance to cut them? before the season? and pick up players you could have had anyways?

 

might as well just continue the draft

Who focking cares? I have no dog in this fight. I guess I'll probably drop Andre Brown but I can wait a week for that. However I see no problem whatsoever with waivers before the season starts. Don't need anybody yourself? Great, sit this round out and maybe you'll even move up in waiver position.

Yeah they up and shouldn't be rewarded per say not punished. In myoneynleague I opened the FA pool as soon draft up dated ( a few years ago). Players get hurt or cut (Brown/Edleman) and we pay for transactions so I am happy to add as much money to the pool as possible.

Never seems to be an issue. Although we draft live and no one misses a whole position (dumbasses)

I didnt not pay attention. I didnt draft a kicker on purpose. Because i knew i had time to grab one before the first weeks games. I have never ever played in a league that locked player acquisitions after the draft until after week 1. Ive never even heard of that. Never ever ever. This league didnt do it last year.I didint draft a kicker last year. I grabbed one just before the first weeks games. No one complained. Im not sure what the issue is this year. I swear sometimes this league comes straight out of the twilight zone.

how is the order determined if there are more than 1 claim on a player?

And just FYI the waivers until sept 3, FA after that is the default setting on Yahoo. I didnt change anything. I would bet probably 90% of all Yahoo leagues run with that setting.

 

 

Bottom line is the rule for post draft available players has been posted on the settings page of the league since the day i created this years league page. if you didnt read them thoroghly enough, thats not my issue.

Not that it shuld make any difference....In my case i was probably going to grab a kicker in the last round, but since i waited too long for my backup QB, i ended up with Jake Locker. Then after i made my 17th round pick i heard Locker had left the Titans 4th preseason game with a shoulder injury. Since all but a few starting QBs were taken, i figured i better grab another just in case. My choices were basically Ponder and Smith. I chose Smith because Ponder has already proven he sucks. At least Smith has upside. I figured if Locker was really hurt, i could cut him later on. If He wasnt hurt i could cut Smith. Either way i could grab a kicker later on. if i just drafted a kicker, and Smith and/or Ponder had gone in the 8 picks after me, i would have been screwed.

I do have the same question, though as Heavy-Set... What's the purpose of not drafting a kicker, but picking up extra bench players, if you don't intend to keep them?

As a fantasy football savant, here are my thoughts after scanning the rosters. I'm assuming this is PPR as only neanderthals play non-ppr.

 

Why do so many people have multiple kickers?

 

Kanils team is full of guys who get hurt every year. Britt, Stewart, Nicks, McFadden, Murray. Prediction: he finishes last for that reason.

 

Why does Gary have 4 QB's (with all the same byes) and two kickers? Besides that though I really like his RB's and WR's.
