ffexpert 4 Posted October 2, 2013 What is the deal with guy? When will he play? Also, what are your thoughts on him - someone you are targeting to buy, or trying to get rid of?

Serpent 51 Posted October 3, 2013 Total waste of a roster spot so far. Even if he comes back, whoever you've been riding up to now will probably continue to be better than him, and his spot could have gone to someone else that develops.
DB Cooper 6 Posted October 3, 2013 Think he helps Brady and others just with presence on field. We will have to see, but he should be able to go 5 and post more effectively than Eddleman.
jgcrawfish 232 Posted October 3, 2013 I'm admitting it now...I've been Belichecked...took Gronk in the 6th round of 12 teamer because the value was too good to pass up. Now the entire 1/4 of the season is gone and I still say the same thing "My team would be hellagood if I only had Gronk". Yeah, well, it ain't happening. He's wasting roster space at this point. I'd trade him now for a half eaten bag of chips. Fock you Gronk, and fock you Belicheat.
JtmoneyJag 25 Posted October 3, 2013 Well, I waited this long, might as well stick it out.
zizou 0 Posted October 3, 2013 I have completely the opposite opinion. I have gronk in a non-ppr league, which makes WRs and TEs very touchdown dependent. This is a player who has scored 28 TDs in his last 27 games. PLUS, he figures to be targeted more (and more in the RZ, if thats even possible) with the Pats offense lacking trustworthy targets for Brady. I think once he is back he will be targeted more per game than he ever has been. Of course the question is when does he return, but since the Patriots are 4-0 and Gronk has become a key figure for their offense with all the players they've lost I can't see them rushing him back and getting him re-injured. Hence them being very careful so far. From what I've been reading I would be very surprised if he was not back by week 6. At which point I would rank him as a top5 WR equivalent in non ppr and top10 in ppr.
Ray_T 747 Posted October 3, 2013 If he's back I'd wait a week for him to get his game legs. He will be rusty, and hes still not 100% from the injury. I'd guess they will have him in on 50% of the offensive plays at most. if he plays this week, I'd sit him and plan to start him next week. only exception: if you have No other serviceable TE to start. Then I'd take a chance.

In that format his value was way too hard to pass up, but I was ready to snag J. Cameron with that or my 7.12 pick. I deviated from that plan since I had Gronkowski & took M. Bennett later. Bennett has been serviceable but Cameron's #'s would be great to have. In regards to when he comes back, I prefer him to be 100% healthy than rushed back & risk re-injuring his arm/back. With New England being 4-0, it affords them the luxury of waiting for his return.

Yeah, but New England's luxury threatens to cost me a playoff spot. Amendola one league, Gronk the other. If I don't get them back soon it will be too late. kobe808lak 7 Posted October 3, 2013 The deal with the guy is that everyone knew he would be out 4-5 game most likely.. Here we are game 5 and he isn't a sure thing... what did you expect when you drafted him?
ffexpert 4 Posted October 3, 2013 just traded gates for gronk, this is not making me feel good about it.

Here we are game 5 and he isn't a sure thing... what did you expect when you drafted him? true. ya gotta do your homework on these guys to make sure you dont overpay. I probably wouldnt have drafted a guy like that so early knowing he's likely to miss 1/4 to 1/3 of the season, but that's just me. I"m injury averse.
Skinny_Bastard 157 Posted October 3, 2013 I think he's a go this weekend. "Patriots waived TE Zach Sudfeld."
p00h 85 Posted October 3, 2013 he's also hella skinny, meaning he hasn't been able to work out to his standards because of back and arm problems. That can drastically impact him game, because a big part of his game is being physical, 'boxing out' for catches, etc. I would not expect past gronk production out of him, not anytime soon after return anywy, whenever that return is. So yeah, lots of uncertainty with gronk. One of my favs when he plays, and I'm saying that as a jets fan, but I fear the gronk will never be the same again. We'll see... lbforlb 1 Posted October 3, 2013 I got Gronk in the 9th round. Don't know how that happened but I have Vernon and J Thomas to sit while I wait. TAKE YOUR TIME GRONK!!!!!!
PATSSOX 22 Posted October 3, 2013 I think he's a go this weekend. "Patriots waived TE Zach Sudfeld." Was just going to post this. However in the 3 games Sudfeld played he totaled 3 targets and ZERO catches So maybe they released him cause he was worthless. But if that is case they'd sign another TE Rob Gronkowski - TE - Patriots Rob Gronkowski (back) remained limited in Thursday's practice. There weren't any new Gronk revelations Thursday, though the Patriots did waive TE Zach Sudfeld. That could be taken as a sign that Gronk is ready to roll for Week 5, but Sudfeld had been buried on the depth chart before his release, playing just eight snaps in Week 4. It's quite possible his departure has nothing to do with Gronk's health. Week 6 still appears to be Gronk's most likely return date. Oct 3 - 4:43 PM
American Chewy 98 Posted October 4, 2013 guy in my league who took him in the 4th is 0-4 and in dead last. was way too high a price to pay for such an uncertain timetable. I hope he comes back, I had him last season and he helped me finish 1st in the regular season. he's fun to watch for sure.
tanatastic 2,062 Posted October 4, 2013 What is the deal with guy? When will he play? Also, what are your thoughts on him - someone you are targeting to buy, or trying to get rid of? Ugh I'm beginning to worry his whole season is a mind trick by belicheat and he's gonna start but get pulled after a series then they say season ending surgery or some BS. I had him on my dnd but took him 5th anyway. When he gets in there, wich better be in a week or 2 tops, there better not be any funny business.

I know it sucks to lose a guy for a chunk of the season. You have to look at your odds of making the play-offs. You may not have him now but he could be a difference maker later in the season. FF is a game of adjustments.
