No talent ass clowns - musicians that don't deserve fame

Recommended Posts

ok who's a better guitarist clapton if eddy van halen CC Deville

This should be funny

Fixed.

Love or hate him, Eddie's a real good guitarist, consistently listed in the top 10 of rock guitarists. If Sux want's to start the ability of hair guitarists, I'd start with CC---the prototypical hair guitarist.

STFU, Honcho. I know what you're getting at
C.C. has talent, just not as much as most of his peers, imo.

Drobs, your question is a dumb one.

Slowhand was / is an incredible talent on guitar. Is he technically better than Eddie? Guess that depends on how you classify 'better' .

They were both incredibly innovative for their time, but I'll pretty much guarantee you that Eddie can play anything that Clapton did but I seriously doubt that Clapton could come close to playing everything that Eddie did.

Rholio mention evoking emotion. I know exactly what he means, but evoking emotion is subjective from one listener to the next.

Clapton doesn't really evoke a whole lot of emotion to me in the way that a SRV does. Purely subjective.

And to all you saying rap sucks .... you don't like the Beastie Boys?

C'mon!

That's a whole genre. Incorrect answer.

They suck, but they are not in the same suckosphere as Gwen Stefani and Kiss.

No....Nickleback does not suck by any stretch of the imagination. You just don't like their music.

Dude, I'm sorry but, you are really bad at liking music. You like No Doubt, and prolly Kiss too. So, your opinion has no validity. Sorry bro.

Here's the test ... Rate these bands on a scale from 1-10

No Doubt

Kiss

Tesla

Guns and Roses

Quiet Riot

Ok, add up the score, then rate:

Pink Floyd

The Beatles

Led Zepplin

Devo

The Clash

And add those up. If your first score is higher than your second score, you are bad at liking music.

Btw, I score that 9 to 49. Clash only gets a 9 from me.

Guns and Roses is my highest rated in the first group with a 3.

Johnny Bravo and Bieber and Spears and Miley.

Boy bands ... One Direction, Beiber ... Etc .. are already considered in the black hole of suckiness, and not really relevant to the convo.

We are assuming very few fantasy football nerds like those bands.

Cough ... Cough ... Sux.

See..Here is where you are missing the boat. MUSIC IS SUBJECTIVE. Musical talent....Easier to define.

Every single band you mentioned I liked for one song or twenty.

Now if I was to make the same list with punk bands, only you, MDC and I would understand it (mebbe a few more...Just an example)

I kinda feel sorry for people who pigeon hole themselves into only a couple types / genres / styles. / etc.. of music. Pretty shallow sh1t, imo.

My favorite genre was 80s to 90s Metal. Does that mean that I don't or can't like songs from Abba?

Am I not allowed to appreciate the vocal beauty from Joan Baez or the harmony from the Kingston Trio?

Should I be ashamed because I think that Gordon Lightfoot and Jim Croce had incredible voices and told scary good and sad stories?

Just because I think that Jello Biafra was a lyrical genius, does that make me an anarchist?

Also, fwiw, George Michael was a good looking dude and also composed some damn good songs, imo.

Fock you all.

Just answer this honestly Sux ... Do you like Kiss?

I was a member of the Kiss Army in the 70s

Musical talent wise looking back on it? Naaa. not so much.

Ace was my favorite. Could he play the guitar? Good ebough for the band he was in, I guess.

All I can say for KISS is that they put on a hell of a show and made some fun music. Much like Poison.

I don't really listen to his music, and I don't doubt that kids that came up in show business and were successful have talent. I think he has a lot of talent, and of the 12 kids on the Mickey Mouse show in 1982, he has probably parlayed his fame into more than the rest combined. He's also a great comedic and dramatic actor. He's the kind of guy that I once hated, but the more I got to see his work as an actor, I really appreciate his talent. He's a good singer too, I have heard him sing, he's talented. Not as talented as Christina Aguilara ... but he can sing. I'll give him that. I just don't like his music.

Gwen Stefani on the other hand ... I remember the first time I saw No Doubt on some live MTV spring break thing or something and they played, "I'm Just a Girl" ... and for the first 30 seconds, I thought it was a joke. Seriously. I was like, "Oh, this looks funny." Let me put it this way, what is it exactly you think she does that requires "talent"? Gwen, I mean of course. Do you really think she is talented as a singer?

I agree with Sux on this. :ninja:

That's cause we are like literally brothers from the same mother :ninja:

Plus we aren't as close minded musically as some of the tone deaf fuckos here.

But isn't that the great thing about music? I can call others tone deaf fuckos but it doesn't matter a bit. Just because I like something doesn't mean that the next person can appreciate it the same way. Much like politics, but on a more of a cerebral platform.

Don't forget, I love female rock singers. A Le Tigre song and an Elastica song are in my top 10 favorite songs. I think in general female singers are "better" than male singers, and I can sing a little bit myself. I can sing the blues like an old black man ... I can really project. Not sure if it was from acting and diction classes as a kid, but I know how to project my voice. I can be the loudest person in the room. If that's how the game works for you, whoever talks loudest wins the argument ... I can do that. I'm not loud normally, I'm a pretty laid back guy ... But my point is, I at least have some background to evaluate how "well" someone can sing. It is subjective, like all art. I agree, and you are allowed to like what you like ... but I disagree. I have reasons. You just have "opinion".

Absolutely, I do.

What I think is irrelevant, tho.

I have always loved her style of singing and her voice. Can she carry multiple octaves like Christina can do? I'm not sure.

Oh no focking way dude .... show me a song, send me a link to Gwen showing her range in a song and I will try and listen to it without puking.

Can't even put her in the same sentence as Aguilara dude ... Are you high right now?

Michael Jackson was talented, but I didn't like his music, particualrly. He was a good dancer. I will acknowledge his talent ... not my cup of tea. No Doubt, and Gwen Stefani ... sounds like a whining baby to me.

And what's his face, the guy with the big tongue from Kiss ... can't sing, can't dance ... possibly worse than Gwen.

Different styles, bro. I said that I doubt she can carry the octaves like Christina :dunno:

Speaking of octaves, hair metal singer for you unplugged

Yea...Beat that

Eddie Van Halen is talented. Again, not a fan of his music ... but I won't discount his talent.

Underated:

Sometimes when I try and sing this song, I get choked up. Sometimes I cry. Very hard for me to sing this song, even though it is not very difficult, from a vocal talent perspective.
