Ted Wells Presents DeflateGate Report To NFL, Patriots; No Discipline Decided Yet

Recommended Posts

Why did the Patriots get caught and no one else for SPygate? The jealous jets, who were tired of losing to them tried to set them up, knowing they would do it.

Can we at least admit this?

Is it funny the NFL didn't actually catch the Patriots doing anything and they needed to be tattled on?

Buncha focking pussys acting like jealous 8 year old and tattling. How pathetic.

The fine would punish who? And deter who? The penalty has to hurt the team. Or they may as well not punish at all. And send the signal that cheating is ok.

Meh... He will get a game or two, vegas has already pulled the first two games off their lines...

Its interesting that quickly deflating the balls, you definitely can't control precisely how much psi you are letting out, which according to the tin foil hat people make such a huge difference in the competitive balance... You'd think he'd want the balls at the 12.6psi that he approved them at rather then some random other situaiton..

Its also interesting that the post game measurements had the balls in the 13.5 psi range, which presumably had come down .5-1 psi from being heated at halftime and inflated vs being out in the cold.

Walt Anderson's testimony which is laughably precise and contrived said he inflated them all to 13.0 psi.... Logic would tell you they pumped up those balls over the legal limit at halftime.

During the Jets game the balls were pumped up to 16psi as tested after the game, meaning they were even higher when the refs inflated them...

Interesting....

Why didn't Mike suspend wiffle ball on his own? Why did it have to be pointed out to him?

why weren't the refs reprimanded for tampering with the balls and upsetting the competitive balance of the league...

Not really. The ball pressure will change via temperature, assuming no leaks. Hence if the balls are allowed to get back to room temperature, the balls should measure the same as when the game started.

Two pressure gauges were used and one was measuring .3 to .5 under the other. On other gauge, they were all within acceptable limits. Pats balls were under acceptable range on both gauges.

My guess is four, but you could be right. I just think it's going to be hard for the league to explain why it's four games for smoking a joint and less for this.

could be right, i assume given how contrived this report is to protect the shield that they will go overboard on the punishment to save face... Its just pure propoganda...

it says in the rules what a positive test it for punishment.

You'll have to dig really deep to find the punishment for letting air out of footballs.

However, with regard to the bounty-gate issue, which you could realistically plug in here....in that instance where the team did the wrong thing, and appeared to try to hide it, the coach was out for some time even though he likely played no active role, and others were also impacted....even though it was being done everywhere.....

Have you noticed that cack sucking motherfawker Goodell has put Troy Vincent out to handle this situation instead of himself? He's so hated that he has his VP of football operations out there. What a fawking doosh. This is his league. Stand up and own it.

Not too deep. It's covered under the "integrity of the game" section. HTH

I don't think it's that hard. Smoking a joint can be effectively proven with medical tests that satisfy criminal law standards, whereas Brady's situation is based on "more likely than not".

You would think. But this is Goodell's league. He does whatever the fawk he wants. If he can suspend a coach for an entire season, fine him seven million dollars (projected salary and fine), and force him to have zero contact with anybody in the league without their permission (couldn't even call Brees and congratulate him the day his child was born), he'll find it in there somewhere.

The Patriots are ahead of the rules makers in finding ways to cheat. I guess we'll find out what the penalty wwill be. If it's less than smoking a joint in your living room, then the league has big problems. Especially since it's the second time they've been caught cheating.

I think it's because of the conflict of interest of Goodell's friendship with Kraft.

Sean Payton and the Saints paid a hell of a price. They lost a season of Brees in his prime, and we saw what they were doing during that prime. If you think that was just( I Don't), and obviously Goodell did, then he has to go hard on the Pats. Maybe not as hard, but they have to lose something of significance.

And Bellichick can't go scott free. Payton took the brunt of that because he was the head coach. And although this cheating was obviously Brady's idea for Brady's benefit, I find it hard to believe that a coach like B.B. who micromanages every aspect of everything, wasn't aware. And even in the slim chance that he wasn't, he's still responsible for the people he hires.

You're just pulling stuff out of your ass now. There's nothing whatsoever to support that in the report.

He trotted him out after the screw up with the Ray Rice issue also. It's becoming a pattern. He's hated and he knows it. Eventually he is going to piss off enough fans and the owners are going to have to rid themselves of him because of the negative image he has become.

I don't think they should go hard on them. Four games for Brady and at least one for Belichick. And lose next years first round pick. If Goodell is consistent in that he wants to send messages out to the league owners, coaches, and players, hit them where it hurts Roger. You fawking ratt face motherfawking arsehole.

I don't need a report to tell me that the head coach is responsible for the actions of his team.

Exactly. Forget the fine nonsense. The Pats are praying it's a fine. That's Monopoly money to Kraft.

It's now funny to look back and listen to the Patriots and Brady chastising the Ravens for not knowing the rule book.

they were right, this situation doesn't negate that :dunno:

may make haters feel better but that's about it.

It's not that the Patriots don't know the rule book of course, its just that they do not seem to feel obligated to obey the rulebook. :D

No one says they weren't right. But if they are bragging about knowing the whole rule book, then they should obey the whole rule book. They decided not to and cheated. It's UnAmerican I tell ya.

The NFL has to be swift with this penalty hand out because New England is going to appeal it. They need to get everything taken care of before the season starts so that Belichick and company can't manipulate the appeals so that the suspension falls in a soft part of the schedule.

Tom Brady's offseason might extend until 2016 if the NFL decides to drop the proverbial hammer on the Patriots quarterback and at least one report is indicating that the league could slam the hammer down hard.

According to the Miami Herald, Brady could be suspended for up to one year thanks to the part he played in Deflategate.

http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/eye-on-football/25177527/report-tom-brady-could-be-suspended-for-up-to-one-year

A year seems overly harsh.....anything over a game or two seems drastic.

8 times the penalty that Ray Rice initially received

I'd love to see 8 games. Just because they're repeat offenders and they seem to think they're above the rules.

I think it will be four. Simply because it can't be less than smoking a joint.

One year would be ridiculous. I'll admit that.

If Goodell wants the players to respect the rules, he's got to go with a lifetime ban. Get tough on crime!

Didn't read the Herald article, so I wonder how much is speculation on their part and how much is from a league source. I guess if you're using Bountygate as a reference point, you could see a year. But Bountygate to me was more about the litigation the NFL was involved in with ex players and concussions. So the league made an example out of the Saints to prove they don't condone injuring players.

But deflategate is totally different. It is cheating by the letter of the law, but I think most teams cheat in some way. So rat's ass. But failing to cooperate with league investigation? :nono: Probably deserving of at least a game. Maybe two. Send the message that when the league asks you to comply, you do it.

A whole year? For this? I'll just cut and paste KSB's diatribe about a power hungry Goodell....because it'll be right on.
