What was your effective tax rate this year?

My property taxes are around $650. 3 bedroom house on a fairly big lot.

I would love that. I had $6500 in property taxes, $1000 in excise/vehicle taxes (with one car being a 2006). I also had over $10k in income tax from the state.

That is only a portion of taxes I pay. I am part of that middle class that gets focked. I make too little to have high priced accountants worm me out of taxes. I make too much to avoid the AMT and the focking that brings.

Same... had to pay in this year 1st time year. After all deductions/credits/charities/maxed pre-tax401k, insurance, FSA/HSA, etc... still $180k+

Ultimately, your pay is pretty arbitrary. Be happy you earn enough to complain about taxes.
