I had last night's HOF ceremony on in the background last night mostly to hear Manning and priimarily too what they did for Tom Jackson.

 

From my view, they switched back from commercials and Berman said something like Our ESPN audience has just watched a moving tribute to TJ... and then they went on.

Can somebody fill in the blanks? Admittedly, I wasn't paying a lot of attention.

i think that was the role they forced him into. From background, they knew that Berman was a egomaniacal blowhard and needed that role to temper things, Think about the sidekick to virtually every late night host ever.

 

I actually give him credit for that. After about the 900th WOOP! I would have strangled Berman with my bare hands.

 

But he truly is grateful for the job he had. And, in that biz, 29 years is a friggin lifetime. Pretty exceptional.. Hell, I don't even think Madden and Michaels last that long in the same network.
