Freeman VS Lacy and Nelson VS Hilton

Recommended Posts

You have to pick one RB between Freeman and Lacy.

You have to pick one WR between Nelson and Hilton.

Freeman may split. Lacy 2015 or 2014?? Nelson hurt already? Hilton could be better with Luck getting it together.

Which one RB and one WR would you get. Lets make it a PPR question.

My vote is Freeman and Nelson.

I agree. Freeman and Nelson. Lacy is fat and Nelson has Aaron throwing him the rock.

He is? Thats news to me.

Lacy lost 20 lbs from last year and put on some muscle.

He's a lean, mean running machine.

I'd take him over Freeman.

and I like Jordy Nelson over TY Hilton. both good options, but I prefer Jordy.

Im really torn between Nelson and Hilton. It looks like Nelson is a no brainer but I think TY challenges the league rec yds lead this season. Also Nelson is a bit old, white and coming off of injury. I donno, I love Jordy but my spidey sense is tingling.

Jordy is recovering from a torn ACL.

Here's the thing about Jordy that no one seems to be talking about.

He's also coming off hip surgery conducted last offseason.

We've seen 21 snaps of preseason football, with only four targets, since a hip surgery. Forget the ACL for a second. We don't even know if Jordy is going to be the same from THAT injury.

All for a 31-year old WR who has predicated a ton of his production on being an outside deep-threat. So lets see. It's been over 570 days since he last played in a meaningful NFL game. He's had hip surgery, an ACL tear, and now a "hiccup" with his other knee. Lest we forget, he's also said numerous times in the past that he's had a recurring issue w/ his knee dating back to college.

Uhhhhhhh...I'm cool off rostering that bag of red flags.

Word. Hilton seems like Jordy minus the downsides.

Freeman has a stretch where he'll play Panthers, Broncos, Seahawks...and your week 16 match up is against the Panthers....so

Lacy and Hilton.

I don't think Freemam will split carries. He proved he can be amazing last season.

This.

And he's not even being drafted with much of a discount this year?

He's on my DND list this year unless he really falls in my draft.

Good points.

I was leaning toward Jordy because he gets more TD than Hilton, but in light of what you said, I'll pull a flip-flop. I'm now recommending Hilton.

I dont expect Freeman to match last years numbers at all. Im going Lacy. Hes lost weight and looks good. As for Hilton and Nelson its a toss up.

Lacy is also in a contract year.

So he should be hungrier this year.

He does need to put food on the... uh... table.

I take Keenan Allen over Hilton. I think Keenan explodes this year

Still on the PUP list

Yikes. Thanks for the news. I'm not gonna list Jordy as DND but he's getting taken so early I probably won't have to worry about it.

The rankings will sort themselves out.

Injured players are always overvalued early in camp. in his case, If he remains on the PUP list his ADP should start to drop rather dramatically.

This drop should start soon.

I'm a bit surprised Freeman is so undervalued. Couldn't it be argued he could go #1 overall. Didn't the guy finish the year as the #1 fantasy RB? If he's remotely as good he's a top RB. Whoever gets him may be getting the steal of the draft.

If you believe he will be a Bell cow back then its something to think about.

all indications and press releases out of Atlanta suggest this is likely be a timeshare with Tevin Coleman.

keeping in mind Freeman's YPC dropped late in the season, its certainly possible.

I personally think he will be the starter, but is unlikely to repeat that 5 week stretch where he caught lightning in a bottle.

I consider him to be a low end RB1. with lots of risk and lots of potential upside. The low end RB1 status represents the midpoint of the range for me.

others may value him higher or lower and thats fair. But this is how I see it.

I think by the end of the year Tevin Coleman has more fantasy points than freeman. Freeman isn't the RB that Coleman is. When he played he looked like the better runner. Freeman looked better in the receiving game and didn't fumble. If Coleman ups his game, I think he can take the job at some point. Thus I think Lacy is the better bet. He's also not a great runner, but he's more talented (when motivated) than starks.

I'm probably taking Nelson and rolling with the injury risk. Colts OL is improved but still will be slow to come together. Hilton has missed some games in his career as well. But those guys are pretty close on my board.

PPR Freeman weeks 1-8: 25.8 PPG

PPR Freeman weeks 9+: 16.3 PPG

If Tevin learns how to read and react, Devonta gets Gio Bernard touches/production.

You can't base everything on last year. See Steve Slaton, Kevan Barlow and a million other examples.

I am thrilled when my RB gets me 16 points. Anything over 10 is awesome. People often forget just how often they get 0-6 from their starters. People acting like 16ppg is some slogging through mud chump stats. He was still good.

The main point is Devonta may not be getting 20+ touches a game to get those 16 pts like he was last year.

It doesn't even have to be about Tevin's upside necessarily.

If the Falcons believe Freeman wore down due to usage, they may split touches anyway.

Freeman won't be getting the same amount of work has he did last season .

Falcons even have Coleman working more this offseason in the passing game .

Coleman is the guy they want to go with .

The guy they want to go with is the guy who wins the starting job. No need to overthink that. I can't see Coleman beating out Freeman in camp.

I can .

He started the first game last season as the starter , than Freeman took over after he was hurt .

Freeman had an amazing season ,but he did wear down has the season went on .

Coleman is going to be given every opportunity to be nothing less than the first and second down back .

Not after last season. He will get more looks in pre season BECAUSE he's not starting this year.

Only if I draft Freeman and am right. Hahaha. If I don't get either I hope they both suck all year.
