Which rb would be ranked 4 after the top 3 are gone? Gordon? Mccoy? Freeman?

I'll call you crazy. Explain why.

Ingram got benched in favor of jouneyman Tim Hightower. AP is light worlds better than Tim Hightower. Saints are transitioning to a power run game on offense as Brees gets up in age. Saints have a young defense and want to work the clock more to keep those guys fresh for the end of games. They had games get away from them late last year and played poorly on the road. A move to a power run game will help them wiin close games and road games. Ingram is not a typical, between the tackles back. I'm not saying he can't do it. I'm just saying it's not his strength. Yet, AP, that's his thing. Plus, he can catch so he will be a three down back at times. Though, they don't want to grind him into the ground so Ingram is still a factor. Defenses won't be able to stack the box with Brees and Thomas on the roster, so AP will have a lot more running lanes. Saints offensive line is decent to good, but LOTS better than Vikings.

They can't transition to a run game with that pitiful defense. Transitioning to a strong run game sounds really nice on paper though. Almost sounds believable.

Good luck stopping TB, Carolina and Atlanta twice and establishing that run game.

Call me crazy, but I'm considering AP in the 4 spot. It's between McCoy and AP for me at this point.

Have you lost your g0ddamned mind? :o

Even if you believe in AP, why use a first round pick for someone who you can still reach for in the third?

Try more like a 7th round pick.

You people still do realize Gordon rushed for less than 4.0 ypc last season right? I am staying away. Dude is so overrated. I would definitely take McCoy 4th

Not just last year, 2 years in a row he has been under 4 ypc.

Oh I know. That's how you miss out on guys. You thought he would be there in your spot in Rd 4, but the guy picking 2 spots in front of you took him. Damn! Now, you're out the 4th or 5th best RB for the year.

I base my rankings on who I trust to get production based on his own talent level and his given situation. AP, if healthy, is going to be the guy. He knows it, Sean Payton knows it, and I know it.

My top 10 RB's this year:

DJ

Bell

Zeke

Gordo

AP

Shady

Crow

D Murray

Freeman

Gurley

with Howard, Miller and Ajayi just missing the cut. It works for me.

Based on his ADP, he won't make it to the 7th, so a 7th rounder is not a reach for him.

Your team, your call obviously. If he looks like vintage AP in the preseason, his draft position will shoot up quicker than anyone's. I just think at this point in time, a first round pick just seems like too much of a reach based on a gut call. Then again in a month and half, you may be able to revisit this thread and call us all a bunch of idiots. The only thing I'll add is that you have to be right for it to pay off and even then there isn't much value in drafting him that high. Being right on him and taking him the first won't give your team nearly the boost as being right on him and drafting him later.

True, all of the players demand close scrutiny this time of year, especially during the 3rd preseason game.

Also, I'm in an auction style league that doesn't draft until Labor Day weekend. So, if AP looks bad between now and then, I can certainly move him down my rankings or remove him if I feel the need.

One coachspeak interview and one vintage AP burst run in preseason and he will be a 2nd or 3rd round pick faster than you can say Toby Gerhart.

.....with Shady being one Tolbert-vultured TD away from being #2 behind Hunt.

week 1 is not over so several might be added, but week two should look different:

love hunt, but he is not going to get another 3 tds

gillislee will not get 3

cohen could remain high with his targets in ppr

stewart should drop a little

elliot should be close

mccoy should be close

fournette has some big game potential...the passing game stalled many drives and scoring opps

howard scored well with a meh stat line

gurley scored well with a meh stat line

vereen, montgomery, and riddick should be close due to receptions

if dj plays, he should improve

bell is still trying to find his game shoes...ultimately he will improve

ajai should be around 20 as well

Patriots defense has issues. Check

Saints defense has issues. Check

That week 2 game is going to be a rock em sock em shootout!! I'd start Gillislee all day!!
