Nothing like taking care of your dog while driving.

"A  driver set his Tesla on Autopilot to check on his dog in the back seat when the vehicle hit a police cruiser stopped on an interstate in Connecticut."

so you're blaming the guy for not paying attention while the car was on auto pilot? who will you blame when the google maps mobile crashes?

If someone trusts autopilot in a car, they are nuts.

That's more believable than "I was checking on the dog".

Snorting lines?  What a great reason to have a car with tinted windows and auto pilot

I lean this way as well.  Autopilot isn't perfect but it's pretty good and at this point it isn't gonna run in to a police cruiser.  Does this guy know that Tesla logs this stuff?  Will be interesting to see what really happened after they do a log review.

He was doing the same thing all Tesla drivers do - playing on his phone without ever glimpsing at the road.

My friend owns a Tesla and does the exact same thing - watches live sports and Youtube vids while "driving", but he hasn't wrecked.... yet.

The smarter they make the car, the dumber the driver gets.
