I wanna see all the democratic big cities destroyed soon. From inside out. Even though they have been on the brink of that for years already. Fock them all.

Let me guess.  Your friends are proud citizens of CHAZ?

So far as I know that doesn’t exist anymore?

And no, they’re doctors, nurses, architects and engineers with real good jobs in a city they love

Cool.  Next time you're in town on one of your frequent business trips shoot me a PM and let's meet up downtown for a beer.  We can then go on a walking tour and you can remind me of all the great things that I no longer see.

Perhaps I'm just jaded by watching the city I fell in love with 25 years ago become unrecognizable and disgusting.  I'm being honest here, it saddens me greatly.  Maybe I need a fresh set of eyes to prove me wrong.

Worms is the guy to do it. He will personally supply the blinders and say you should pick up a six pack instead of spending too much on beer out and about around town. But be assured, the city is safe and thriving.

You don’t sound like a very fun guy to hang out with, no offense. But I may take you up on that just to see if you actually show me something I don’t know

Believe me, I don't think you sound like a fun guy either.  I was just making an honest suggestion to hopefully have you rekindle my love for this city.

BTW, what neighborhoods do all your professional friends live in?  I'm assuming your multiple doctor and nurse friends work in downtown hospitals.  Where do your architect and engineer buddies work?  Downtown or Eastside?

And that was once the beauty of NY. The city was left alone, and they left us alone, for the most part. Until Cuomo decided he wanted to be President. So he had to Fock up the whole state to bolster his progressive brand.

This story goes a WHOLE YEAR back, so I'm guessing this has been fixed according to worms.

"Rent is obscene here": The issues forcing people in Seattle onto the street

Anderson Cooper visits a tent city in the Seattle area and hears from some of America's more than 500,000 homeless people

With the days getting shorter and the temperatures colder, it's sobering to think that on any given night more than half a million Americans are homeless. In the last three years, according to government reports, cities on the West Coast have seen a dramatic rise in the number of people who are "unsheltered." That's the term used to refer to anyone who's homeless, but not sleeping in a shelter. They're the people you see sleeping on streets or in parks, in tent encampments, or in vehicles. Why has the unsheltered population been going up at a time of economic expansion and low unemployment? One answer is rising rents in hot real estate markets. Take Seattle and surrounding King County, which are booming thanks to high-tech companies but now have the third highest number of homeless people in the country. The Seattle area is home to Amazon and Microsoft, but also to a homeless encampment called Tent City Three.

I'm just curious.  Did you watch the documentary he posted?  I'm pretty sure you didn't since it's an hour long.  I'm 5 minutes in to it.  They have a graph showing property crimes per 100k people.  Seattle is the 2nd worst major city in America, only being bested by SF which has the same issues.  New York is ONE THIRD of Seattle.  These stats are from 2017 but the point still stands.  Don S knows what he's talking about, and you're a d*ck.

Nah. Worms knows what he is talking about. None of it is the truth, but he's confident in how he says it. He's just a person that has no pride in his self worth, so doesn't care if he comes across and idiot. Just like MDC for instance.

Christ buddy.  Relax. I'm not trying to "call you out" .  I was being honest about meeting up for a beer.  You're the one that said "you don't sound fun".

If you mean if I was trying to get additional information on the neighborhoods where your friends live/work to see why they don't think Seattle has a problem then I guess I'm guilty of "calling you out".  :dunno:

Exchange of information/facts in order to understand the basis for an opposing viewpoint is "bad" now?

Oh. Almost forgot my smiley. 😊

Went to Seattle to see the Yankees, 2005 or 6. It was nice, had a great time. But a bunch of guys from NY were like “wow, the homeless are everywhere “.

Didn’t say that. Said it was an issue. Doesn’t mean the whole focking city is on death’s door

And BTW, Seattle used to be a total sh1thole. It’s status as a nice international city is pretty new. Yet you guys think it’s in the sh1tter because right wing media says so, as it tries to do of all liberal cities.

So no? One lib here said I don't understand Chicago because I never lived there. But I did. And I know what has been going on.

But now you are telling people you know better than the residents. Sounds likes a corrupt political commentary.

I don't think this is true.

I don't live in Seattle, but I am in CA very close to Sacramento. I've been to SF a number of times as a kid and as an adult. I don't need any media to tell me how things have gone to cr@p. I can see it everyday.

If you haven't been to some of the rural areas of CA, then you have no idea what the state has to offer.

Places like Yosemite, the northern coast, etc. There are plenty of amazing places out here in CA that aren't cities.

LOVE California.  So beautiful.  LA is Gross.  San Fran has now become gross, but NAPA area? Yes please.

When was this?  Because I lived there in 1998 and it was perfectly fine at that time.  Don S doesn't seem to think that was the case or why would he be lamenting it's downfall?  What exactly is your experience with Seattle other than some work visits?

And where does Newsom actually LIVE? About 10 miles from me in a Sacramento suburb. No way he'd live in the city of Sac or SF. Cr@pholes.

Sure.  I searched that article and not once did the word "sh!thole" and not once did it appear.  Do you have a point?  When exactly was it a sh!thole?  All cities were sh!tholes at some point, cause they tend to be when they're new.  I assumed you were talking about some time in the last 20-30 years.  Stupid of me to think you'd be talking about a relevant time frame.

Bummer about the NAPA area has been the fires.   Did some serious damage out that way.  Still...It's God's country man.  Wife and I used to go yearly.  It's by far my favorite vacation destination.

Anything to do up there other than wine tasting?  I used to go to Sonoma for racing but that was about it.  What else is there to do?

What's the closest airport? Or should I say, the easiest airport to deal with.

Interestingly enough that wiki article does mention issues with rioting and protests caused by "local forces" and being "politically inspired". Focking alt right Wikipedia.

Seattle's bid for the world stage by hosting the World Trade Organization Ministerial Conference of 1999 did not play out as planned. Instead, the city became the site of the first great street confrontation between the anti-globalization movement and the World Trade Organization on November 30, 1999. While many of those in the streets, and most of those in the suites, were from out of town or even out of country, much of the groundwork of Seattle hosting both the event and the protests against it can be attributed to local forces . In 2001 the central city was the site of rioting, mixed with partying and racially motivated violence against European Americans in the Seattle Mardi Gras riot. Seattle along with other west coast cities experienced politically inspired confrontations and violence during the May Day marches in 2015.

Sacramento is the best option.  But for us from Detroit, there aren't a lot of direct flight options.

So SFO is option #2.  It's not too bad of a drive from San Fran airport really.  You do have to cross through the entire city however, there and back when you leave and San Fran can be ridiculously crowded.  But it's really not too terrible

European Americans.  New code word for white I guess, when they are victims.  You gotta be a willing idiot to be on the left these days. How come it’s not European American supremacy? When it’s bad it’s white. Got it.

Agreed, SAC is by far the easiest.  You avoid downtown SAC because of the airport location.  When we went we stayed in St. Helena on the north end of Napa, and we took a beautiful windy scenic route from SAC (just looked on a map, Rte. 128).

I guess one plus is to get to NAPA from SFO you cross the golden gate. Thats a thing
