Scottie Pippen off the rails

Recommended Posts

First he goes after Kevin Durant, then responds to KD calling him out by calling Phil Jackson a racist.

He is an angry dude. He focked up contract wise. Still made a ton though. Doesn't like being forever in MJs shadow.

Pippen was good, great even.. But as awesome as he was, he was first and foremost, 2nd fiddle....and two, he SIGNED the contract.

Did he get hosed, bad advice? Yea maybe. But I have zero sympathy for guys who sign a deal then cry bcoz it turned out to be not fair market price later.

Been said a million times - banks, mortgage lenders, car dealers....they don't let people hold out and renegotiate contracts. A deal is a deal, honor it.

Yeah, fock athletes whining about their contract.

Most people don't get to sit there with an agent and a lawyer and negotiate their pay. It's a take it or leave it proposition for most folks.

Pippen was a good player. He doesn't belong in the top 50 players ever. He rode the coattails of MJ for sure. That being said, he knew MJ was the alpha dog and even an alpha dog alone can't will his team to a championship. So Pippen did all those other little things that made the bulls into one of the greatest teams of all time. There were a dozen other players just like him in the NBA at the time. He was just the lucky one to be MJs sidekick.

This rant is just sad if not expected. Black people are being told a great lie that any failure, any injustice is because they are black.

Yeah. Jordan was the man. Pippen played great defense, but never was a go to guy for a last second shot. Never. Paxton, Kerr, Armstrong, Hodges. Never pippen. I compare pippen to Rodman. Nobody rebounded like Rodman. And pippen could cover the perimeter.

And people didn't realize that Jordan wasn't paid his "worth" in Chicago throughout his career until the end payout. He deserved every nickel.

He was the Tom Brady of basketball.

Agreed. When compared to Rodman, Pippen was the better overall player. Rodman was a way better rebounder and defender. Rodman is probably one of the greatest defensive players ever. He could guard anyone from John Stockton to Shaq. Of course, Rodman had his issues (wacko) as did Pippen (migraines).

If I'm building a team I take Rodman over Pippen. Honestly wouldn't want either though simply because of their issues

I'm not familiar with his contract situation though, but nobody makes you sign the dotted line.

He only got paid in the end.

When I think great clutch players in the NBA, I immediately think of one of the best nick-names in sports ..... BIG SHOT BOB !!! Robert Horry.  Dude made a career of coming in and banging down that last second shot.
