I wouldn't call this circumstance similar to a torn ACL or a concussion or other injuries.  The guy's heart stopped, and it was life or death on the field while players watched.  You might think that's similar to an ACL tear, but I think it's quite different.  If you saw the players crying on the field, you would know it's different.  We might just have to disagree on this point.

Another aspect that makes this different is the timing.  Monday night week 17, both teams in the playoffs, so the opportunity and the urgency to make up this game is low.

So a combination of the trauma to the players of the injury coupled with the necessity and opportunity to make up the game leads to the decision to skip it.  Again, you don't agree, but I'm simply explaining it to you now for the third time in the simplest forms possible.  If you still don't get it, then I don't know man.

Josh Sweat was stabilized and carted off the field on Sunday. Hours later we learned that he could move his extremities.

They should cancel the outcome of the Eagles-Saints game.

Actually that was just as traumatic for everyone and they didn't want to play either, until they found out he would surivive.

They did say no.  The NFL said "Take 5 and play", and Burrow started warming up, then several of the Bills players said no, and the coaches talked, and decided to go into the locker room.

The players actually matter.  I know you just view them as robots to bet on and entertain you, but they're people too.

Patriots benefit from this especially if the WEAK Bills rollover or forfeit this week.  Ravens get screwed, they needed Bills to show up and beat the Bengals.

They should be forced to finish this game.  Especially if the Bills and Bengals are both at 12-4 after this week.

Best wishes for the injured player but you gotta take him off the field, send in 'next man up' and finish the game. It's always been that way. What happened to Mike Utley and others seriously injured is tragic but get them the professional care they need. For teammates, the time to worry and check in are after the game is over.

Darryl Stingley was paralyzed on the field at 26. Never walked again. He died in 2007. The Patriots should have refused to play till he recovered or died.
