Fox News Hosts were Repeating Lies about Election

You're correct. During my 30 years in the industry, we did things by the book. The only place where opinions were shared were on the editorial and opinion pages and the meetings that led up to them. We never shared opinions about anything in the newsroom, and news stories were facts-based, unbiased and included comments on both sides of an issue. 

And we ran down facts under the philosophy of "If your mother says she loves you, check it out!"

I interned at a huge TV news station one summer, and the reporters wouldn't share their opinions on anything. There was a huge trial going on, and I went with a reporter to watch it for a day. I asked her whether she thought the defendant was guilty, and she said she didn't even think about such things.

If someone was charged crime that was big enough to warrant a story, we always tried to call the person charged or their lawyer for a comment.

We only reported on grand-jury indictments that we'd see through to the end. So many local news entities these days run all the indictments online and even some misdemeanor charges but don't follow through. The charges could be dropped and/or the defendant acquitted, but that doesn't get reported.

Local newspapers are so bad because their news staffs, from reporter up through management, don't have sh!t for experience. They don't get all the fact and just regurgitate what's told to them.

For example, either Walgreens or CVS put out a new release labeling our community as the nation's flu capital.

The newspaper blindly ran with the news release. They didn't check out the reasons why. They didn't look up CDC numbers or even talk to the local health department - or any local health official, for that matter. They didn't even talk to someone who had or recently had the flu. If you're going to do a story about the focking flu, you need to having a focking flu victim in the focking story.

Had the reporters and editors done their job, they would have seen that the flu numbers were based on Tamiflu prescriptions. Had they talked to health officials, they would have learned that employees at the two major medical facilities here were prescribed Tamiflu as a precautionary measure. In addition, doctors were handing out Tamiflu prescriptions to entire families as a precautionary measure if one person in the house came down with the flu.

So the real story here was the community being the Tamiflu prescription capital of the world, and either Walgreens or CVS got a whopping free advertisement out of the deal.

The New York Times, Washington Post and Wall Street Journal still do excellent work and are doing well financially. The NYT and WP have always been left leaning and have their flaws, but that doesn't mean they're 100 percent untrustworthy.  ABC, CBS and NBC are relatively facts-based and unbiased, and the most facts-based and unbiased entities in the land are the Associated Press and Reuters, although they're shells of their once glorious selves.

The routine reporting of MSNBC, Fox and CNN isn't bad, but that's not their core audience. It's the infotainers who come on at night and spin things left or right. They pander to their audiences - as Fox did here - for the ratings and the money.

Fox deserves an ass kicking for this one. I hope they lose viewers and this lawsuit they're facing.

You think you read it.  The report shows that they knew it was all a lie but went on with it anyway.  Some hosts pushed the theory it was stolen while other hosts had guests on that pushed the theories of it being stolen.  They even called their guests nuts but hosted them anyway and continued supporting the stolen election narrative.

I was actually impressed to find that Tucker was offended by the whole lie and the people pushing it.  I gained a little respect for him because of what he said, I just wish he would've taken a stand and blown the whole thing up.

Why do people not understand how voting works? I'm guessing my dad is still on the voting rolls (spelling matters) somewhere in colorado. He's been dead for a decade. But hey, that's NOT evidence of fraud.  you know the levels of verification you have to go through to resubmit that ballot?  Jesus, the IRS is probably still sending him 1040s but I'm fairly certain dad's not going to get prosecuted for tax evasion.

 

But people deliberately want to stay ignorant. There's all kinds of resources out there.
