Transgender - Wikipedia

A transgender person (often abbreviated to trans person) is someone whose gender identity or gender expression does not correspond with the sex they were assigned at birth

Thanks, but you didn't answer my earlier question, so I'll restate it with the above definition:  what makes someone identify as a different gender if not gender dysphoria?  Are you saying that a person with no emotional distress about their gender whatsoever can be trans?  How does one accurately diagnose such a person?

Gender dysphoria does not make someone identify as a different gender.

Yes, it's called a mental illness.  The mind is at war with the body, and that's internal conflict that will never go away.

I’m not too surprised by those findings.

Worth noting though that trans people are probably underrepresented in prison by a lot. Best as I can tell there are about a million people in state prisons and less than 5,000 are trans. That’s what - 0.0005%?

That fact that a high % are there for sex crimes isn’t shocking though.

0.00009% people get killed by cops in a given year, and a segment of the population want to dismantle policing in the country.  :dunno:

There a reason you bumped my month old post with this nonsequitur?

First time in the thread... didn't know it was old.  I didn't look at the dates.  Any reason why you are choosing to dismiss something that affects 0.0005% but never dismissed something that affects 0.00009%?

What was I dismissing and what did I say about police shootings that set you off?

I just find people's inconsistency on "what's important" to be very entertaining.  Like this for example... trans isn't an issue because we're talking about 0.0005% of the population, but when it was 0.00009%, that was a major ordeal.  Or, the 5k to 10k white supremacist's/KKK in this country are a major problem, yet the MILLIONS of undocumented, they need to be protected.

Not sure why you’re asking me about opinions that aren’t mine, also don’t care.

Honest question: what is your math here?

I don’t think we should “dismantle policing” but a quick googling shows there were 1,176 people killed by police in 2022. Out of 3.4 million deaths, that’s 0.03%, not 0.00009%.  And of course would be a higher % of younger people since most people that die are old.

I used the number 12, not 1,176.  Liberals have used the position of cops killing unarmed black people as the basis for their agenda.  That number seemed to range between 9 and 15, so I split the difference.

Number of black folks.

If you’re trying to make a similar comparison to his (number of trans inmates / number of total inmates) you’d probably need to at least compare only to the number of black folks that died.

Nonetheless, I don’t think the issue is necessarily “cops are killing black folks way too often”…moreso that cops are biased against black folks so ~12 of them dying is a just a symptom of that.

The argument that Liberals were making was that cops were targeting black folks and that's why they were killing black people.  It was the rationale behind "Defund the Police" and it's the foundation of the way revamping of the justice system.  All that, because about 12 black people (on average), get killed by cops.  Democrats apparently are ok with that.  As I noted, that percentage is way smaller than the percentage of trans people that Democrats seem to think that Republican's are making a big deal over.  That's my point.

Most democrats don’t actually want to defund the police.

Right, they just elect the people who will do it anyway.
