I think the same question applies to 2016 as well. Conservatives tend to be the hard workers, the average person....and these people are really fed up with the childish antics of those with a more left-leaning tilt. I think the 2016 election was, in part, a kind of "fock you" to liberals. Now, the resounding success of the Trump administration was just icing on the cake. So I think people yearn for the better days under Trump, but we cannot discount that some just want to do the "fock you" thing again. I think the main problem for Trump is that delivering solid economic performance is his main power, and he needs more than that to resonate with more voters. Businesses allowed deduct 100 percent of the cost of their capital investments in the year the investment is made. Over $1.5 trillion was repatriated into the United States from overseas. Created nearly 9,000 Opportunity Zones where capital gains on long-term investments are taxed at zero.Approximately 1 million Americans will be lifted from poverty as a result of these new investments. Immediately withdrew from the job-killing Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP). Ended the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), and replaced it with the brand new United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA). Returned 56 hostages and detainees from more than 24 countries. Withdrew from the horrible, one-sided Iran Nuclear Deal and imposed crippling sanctions on the Iranian Regime. Conducted vigorous enforcement on all sanctions to bring Iran’s oil exports to zero and deny the regime its principal source of revenue Here are a few, now I was not on board with everything he did.
