crackattack 520 Posted June 24, 2023 The results are in! School lockdowns are going to take years if not decades to fix. Students were severely damaged from remote learning. Even after the science was in on covid and the young. Randi Weingarten should be ousted and tried for crimes against our youth. That's hyperbole of course, but she and liberal policies set our youth back decades. That angers me. That’s all, and have a great weekend everyone!

If kids had good parents they came out of covid perfectly fine. If kids had sh!tty parents...well ... then its the same ol' story with or without covid. Of course, it's always easier to play the wussy blame game rather than take personal responsibility. 1

So lockdowns had zero impact on our youth? Plenty of studies out there would beg to differ. Remember, the science was settled pretty early about covid and the young. Yet even then the unions shut it all down. Why? Yes, parents played a roll also, but the liberals were the "party of science", and the science said send the kids to school. You're just deflecting blame from liberal policies. The data and studies are on my side.

This is somewhat true but not as black and white. Speaking of which, the same Leftists who pushed for school lockdowns disproportionately hurt POC kids, who tend not to come from higher education families. I said from Day 1 of the lockdowns that school closures would be the biggest travesty that came out of the pandemic, well that and masks causing the deprivation of infants from seeing faces and developing social skills. The "experts" at the time assured us that it would be no problem, and it wouldn't surprise me if they censored people who pushed this message. But it is becoming more and more true every day on the education piece, and I don't think we know yet how much damage we did to the poor infants of Covid. The audacity that these same people are now claiming they “never pushed for lockdowns” and that “it was republicans”

weepaws 3,418 Posted June 24, 2023 California wants to pass a bill making it legal to have ones children removed if a parent doesn’t accept that their children want to change gender. Thats a big issue. Let’s not be deceived by these smaller issues.
jonmx 2,484 Posted June 24, 2023 I talk to many professors at a top engineering school, and the kids that are coming through now are much less prepared, some severely lack social skills, and are far more likely to make excuses and want relief from deadlines. These kids are not from families with parents who don't care. These are parents sending children to a $60k plus per year engineering school. The lockdowns for schools was inexcusable. No science showed that school aged healthy children had a significant risk from COVID. If older teachers needed special protections are were uncomfortable teach I ng, then workaround for special cases should have been made. It was criminal what we did to These children. Hardcore troubadour 16,030 Posted June 24, 2023 Just make the curriculum easier. And don’t fail anyone. It’s an easy fix. Oh wait, they already did that? And kids still can’t read or add? Better give the schools more money. Teaching reading probably costs a lot.
