A summer heat wave that has baked Texas over the past two weeks will spread to other Southern states in the coming days, the National Weather Service warned on Monday.

“Going forward, that heat is going to expand ... north to Kansas City and the entire state of Oklahoma, into the Mississippi Valley ... to the far western Florida Panhandle and parts of western Alabama,” National Weather Service lead forecaster Bob Oravec said.

With triple-digit temperatures expected over a wide swath of the South, the NWS posted heat advisories and warnings in parts of Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi, New Mexico and Arizona.

i remember there was a website that had a map of drought conditions each year doing back like 20 years or so.  every year there was a drought somewhere in the lower 48.  usually it was California but if it wasnt there then it was in Texas.  and if both were wet, it was in the midwest.

Some part of Iowa has been in a drought for last few years.  This year has been terrible.  We just had our first measurable rain in over a month.  Farmers have been getting very worried.

It’s gong to be 110 +  Brutal. Fawking briutal with the heat index here this weekend . Went to make groceries at noon today. And was soaking wet and miserable just getting in and out of the car. A/C is running 24/7 and my electric bill is going to be crazy high. I feel sorry for the elderly.

Hmmm...Can't you guys just identify as 70 degree weather and that will make it 70 degrees?  Seems to work with gender so it should work with temperature and weather too.
