My daddy raised me on classic rock and absolutely hated the direction rock music took in the 1980s, so perhaps that had something to do with it. He hated Bon Jovi, and I've never liked what I heard. I don't understand the Aerosmith hate. Everything from "Toys in the Attic" through "Night in the Ruts" is classic, and I actually like "Rock in a Hard Place," despite the absence of Joe Perry and all that. 

While everyone else was listening to CDs and then streaming, my daddy and I listened to his vinyl, so it was like I got to experience 1970s music the way it was meant to be experienced.

I sure miss him.

He was such a good man and father. I miss him. People my age have no idea how great the music was back in my daddy's day.

He'll always be my daddy. I sat by his side and held his hand as he passed away.
