I like the idea of trading for Andy Dalton if its cheap.

As for veteran free agents to sign to back up Wilson and bring in if things go horribly wrong....  Flacco or Colt McCoy make the most sense. Flacco knows most of the players and still has an arm. McCoy should be in game shape. 

But realistically, no one available is going to give the Jets much better of a chance than Wilson. Wilson has the physical tools. If he can take a step forward mentally, I don't see any retreads taking the Jets much further.... again, if Wilson looks exactly the same as 2022, then one of the two veterans above might at least be enough for a playoff birth.

Zach Wilson can focking sling the ball. If they can't coach him up to see the liinebacker or safety and avoid throwing to the receivers that are covered, then that's on the coaches too.

Kappy didn't actually want to play.  He wanted to play victim, get attention, and make money through other "things". 

He never had legit intentions to come in and go through the work and offseason to compete for a spot on a team.

Cousins is probably realistic. If the Vikings are 1-5 and Cousins isn't going to be there next year, maybe they would take a 3rd for him? 

Jets would need to be 3-3 before their bye, I think. The cap works because I believe by that time his cap hit would be relatively small and hes just a ROS rental. Rodgers can come back next year, Wilson can continue to be your QB2 this year and continue learning "behind" Rodgers as they seem to have a solid relationship. Kirk can move on and sign with someone else for 2024.
