Question.  Presuming Biden felt compelled to notcontinue deffering building, what compells him to build a 26 mile contiguous piece of wall?  If he wished to remain defiant to fulfill his campaign pledge could he not have erected 52 miles of wall with alterating wall gaps totalling 26 miles? No it’s not in the article. The article does make a connection between the busing and the start of the crisis, which Is a pretty dumb and ill-informed connection based on the overall numbers. In any case, no wall is going to help with that crisis at all. What these cities need are more federal funds to deal with these people. But will Republicans agree? Not a chance. Their only solution is to try to keep these folks out. Which will NEVER work. Conservatives are making this situation far far worse than it needs to be and now Biden is helping them. Shame on him.

New York City is seeing signs of the influx of migrant arrivals that communities along the southern border have grappled with in recent weeks. The surge in the city comes amid a record number of asylum-seekers entering the shelter system since Spring 2022.

At a press conference on Wednesday, NYC Deputy Mayor for Health & Human Services Anne Williams-Isom said the city is seeing a "significant surge" of arrivals in recent days.

Officials at the briefing said there have been up to 400 migrants arriving in the city each day in recent months, but that number has shot up to around 600 per day.

As Chicago's migrant crisis stretches well into its second year as city, state and federal officials are continuing to scramble in an effort to find solutions for housing.

Buses of asylum-seeking migrants began arriving in Chicago at the end of August 2022, and have continued at varying paces since then, with an influx occurring in recent weeks.

As of Oct. 5, more than 17,000 have arrived in the city since August 2022, according to a spokeswoman for Chicago's Office of Emergency Management and Communications.

But that number is expected to grow.

What prevents the Administration from simply buying material as the first step in the process and then deciding, as they already have done, to sell that material before construction begins.  They could engage in an endless loop of buying back the exact thing they just sold at a discount.  Would be quite a way to wash money to all of the Biden holding corporations who could buy the wall segments at discount and sell them back at full price, repeatedly.

as of Sept 6th Abbott has bused over 35,000 migrants to "sanctuary cities" which includes 13,000 to NYC which is why these mayors are declaring a national emergency.  Everything was just fine & dandy until these sanctuary cities actually had to deal with the influx like the borders states.  THEN it became a national emergency.

Eventually the public is going to see that the only real solution to this problem is a complete reform of the immigration system and not the heavy handed methods that Republicans are proposing. And when Trump says, as he did the other day, that illegal immigrants are poisoning us, hopefully decent people everywhere will recognize the bigotry and hatred behind those kind of remarks.
