It has nothing to with Americans, foreigners, illegals, etc. You are a weakling and can't admit you made a mistake. What is the estimate for number of illegals that came across the border last year? That seems like a pretty impressive rate if “all the new jobs went to foreigners” which obviously is a lie.

Try using logic instead of believing what Rachel Maddow tells you "The retail industry is going through a tough time as it copes with inflation-weary consumers and a rash of bankruptcies, prompting chains to announce the closures of almost 3,200 brick-and-mortar stores so far in 2024, according to a new analysis. That's a 24% increase from a year ago".

RLLD 3,562 Posted May 13 WaPo Opinion Piece trying to Help Democrats with their gaslighting issues Quote Democrats and the press keep telling Americans that they don’t know how good they have it. The U.S. economy is great, Bidenomics is the reason, and don’t worry, be happy. Yet the voters, those numbskulls, keep telling pollsters they don’t feel the boom and they don’t approve of President Biden’s economic performance. If our friends on the left want to stop berating voters and admit reality, they might look at the chart nearby from Dan Clifton of Strategas Research Partners. It compares the average annual consumer-price inflation rate across the first term of the last eight presidencies. As you can see, Mr. Biden’s average inflation rate of 5.5% is second only to Jimmy Carter’s average rate of 10.3%, and Mr. Carter wasn’t re-elected.

It's a lagging indicator that takes half a year at least to matriculate its way through the economy and trigger the indicator. Trump's unprecedented spending and destruction of supply chains clearly caused the inflation that took hold the minute Biden took office. Biden's team should have been messaging this from day one but they're dumb and they should have been taking credit for how inflation is well under control now thanks to Biden and the Fed's efforts. By the logic of most americans and all cultist the economic shutdown that Obama fixed was Obama's fault. 1

By the logic of most americans and all cultist the economic shutdown that Obama fixed was Obama's fault. Its a great point about inflation, and I concur this point is overlooked. Inflation does not always lag as you have noted. It can be influenced by things such as consumer behavior, Support chain dynamics and monetary policy. In other cases it can spike suddenly due to specific shocks to the system, such as attacking the energy sector and then pouring money into the markets.....which is what happened in this instance. The most problematic thing here was not so much the mistakes Biden made to get inflation rising as the mistakes he made when he later lied about it and waited to react.....as time passed and he kept trying to tell us everything was fine (like he does now) the opportunities to mute it and ease the harm were lost. Inflation is sticky, you cannot simply turn it off once you allow it to inflame. Mistakes were made, I accept that they will never admit to them....though Yellen did sort of do that..... but continuing to lie about it is repeating the worst of the mistakes made.
